From every game I've ever played, this Valkyrie is one of my favorites.

Seriously. Or they could at least give some male specific classes, but there really shouldn't be so many genderlocked in general. As a woman who likes to play as guys in game, it's really off-putting :( (no matter how cute or bad ass the women are, I love em, but I don't wanna feel like I'm forced to play them if I wanna check out a new class or something...meh)
Gender/Race lock cuts development time down to a tiny fraction of what it would normally be because you only need to make one set of animations and armor. When the overwhelmingly vast majority of your actual micro-transactions come from female races the choice becomes obvious. Hell the developers have stated on record that an Elin swimsuit event single-handedly saved the game from closing it's doors.
If you want them to change then change how the players are voting with their wallets. If male classes made enough money to justify the development they would make them, they are a business not randomly sexist.
Ye Li That's understandable to an extent development/budget wise, but I still can't help but want what I want, and thus why I stated my opinion. I personally don't see anything here about any of this being sexist. At least speaking for myself in regards to my own comment. I just want to play some more cool bad ass man classes X0 As a cs major myself, I do get it tho, but jeeez, where all my men and ladies at that appreciate the opposite side of the spectrum! >~< Start buying some man items! Lol
You nailed it on the head, it's the playerbase of weaboo perverts. It's why I quit over a year ago. I was the only Baraka, sad reality.
Ye Li The more female-only classes they make, the more people will play female characters. They're making the problem worse.
Maybe the numbers shows that most play female characters because over half the classes (and the most op ones) are the gender locked ones.. So Tera is basically pulling their "Gender fav numbers" from their game because they only add female classes. Which only furhter increases the female gender in the game..
Even if there were more male characters. There'd be more female characters being played, simply because there are more (thirsty) males playing the game.

@@redflame300 the problem is rather that a lot of mmos really fail to design male characters. Its always some dorky ogre/giant/orc thing or some feminine guy with an anime haircut with the most eccentric animations that make me puke. I just want to make some badass dude like Kratos from God of War or something.
@@TheDool i agree. Male character just arent really cool in this game for some odd reason. I dont find the male castanics or the big lizard looking race to be attractive. Idk. Like Kratos is buff but its the beard that gives the manliness.

This is the only class so far that has a reason for being gender-locked. I get what people are saying about how in-game female cosmetics have sold better in the past, but anyone can take one quick glance at recent public feedback and see that a non gender-locked class or even a male gender-locked class is in high demand right now. I don't think a game should pick genders and races for classes solely based on the income it brings. There needs to be a compromise between the game as a money-making business and the diverse fantasy world we all want it to continue to be.
Happy it's only for castanic since it's perfect for that class only!

Lol thought this was a Vindictus character update for Lynn. The combat, attacks, markers, weapon, even how you stack the markers and explode them is the same.
Please release a major update that makes all female classes available for male too. It’s annoying having no good male character classes.

this is a korean MMO and its not only Tera whose suffering from feminization syndrome, most eastern MMO are,,, this could also be a marketing strategy so if they finally release a genderlocked male there will be a major influx of players again (if there is still player base remaining) , i will surely hop back in hype train of Tera tho..

I wonder how the game would've done if it had stayed p2p in terms of effort put into development choices, because the original classes that came with the initial release were any gender, any race.

Well the Elin is only a female race and the reason is that none of the other races would have figured this out is because the Ninja's along with the Valkyrie would probably be unwilling to share their training and how to become a ninja with people not apart of their race. Also the Popori technically IS said sometimes to be the male Elin so I could be completely wrong. And Valkyrie's were only ever known to be female if your wondering that.

nobody is going to have any problem hitting abilities with this class.
You can get max levels and max gear in less then a week in this game. thats also when it becomes boring unless you like costumes or spending a shit ton of money on this game

Could have medieval classes, I would love... Templars, Vikings, Wizard, Necromancer... What makes it look boring are the classes, very few classes and players have to pay to have more classes this would be something to have for free and not pay to use this tool!

Wizards are kind of in the game under Mystics, Priests, and Sorcerers.

I started this game 3 days ago and I'm enjoying it but whats the point of these genderlocked classes and why are they always female? Is it part of the games lore?
Yea, its part of the lore, but the only reason it's in there is to have an excuse to gender/race lock the classes. I don't know why tho, it could be that there are more co$metics for females, and the fact that they are too lazy too animate stuff for males and other races.

Reapers are exclusive to the Elin race, who only posess one gender. That's a solid, reasonable in universe reason, especially since Reapers only come into existence late in the events of the game's timeline.
Brawlers might manage to get by the 'only humans' clause due to being a fighting style recently developed in TERA's history by a human woman who was a smith. (No excuse given for the female only though.)
Gunner's are only used by the two races with the high enough tech base to make and understand how to maintain the specialist weapons they rely upon. (again, no logic in female only exists)
Valkyrie has at least a conceptual reason since the name is from mythic female figures. The racial restriction to castanic makes sense as an artifact of their culture they would refuse to share with outsiders. I'll give this a pass as I did for the Reaper's double lock.
Edit: The Ninja can also be excused as the Valkyrie as a small numbers group unwilling to share their techniques with outsiders. Annoyed I forgot about them.

There are a lot of hate because of all the genderlocked classes. Okay lemme say this. Valkyrie's were only ever known to be female in norse mythology, Ninja's are race locked to the Elin class possibly because they don't want to share their techniques with the other races along with the Valkyrie. The reason for the gunners being race locked is because the castanics and high elves are the ones who are most advanced to understand the technology but there is no known reason to me why the are also genderlocked. But if you don't like that they are then just go play a different game. Or just use the classes that can also be male. That's just my opinion and I personally cannot wait until the Valkyrie comes out to TERA ps4 in January.

Buff berserker , slayer , sorcerer they feel weak n slow compare to a valkyrie , shining crescent + ragnarock is so op make all dps classes looks like a joke and u can charge ragnarock in less than a minute lol , the unbalance is real , me and my friends will stop support u guys if u dont make a change at least buff the old clases

I prefer female elf as my avatar but castanic is better then loli, not a bad class to play I would recommend reducing the flashing lights and looking at skyforge Monk moves as a good example. moving of the lance along with the body like The Mountain and The Viper - Fight Scene in Game of Thrones S4E8. would improve this class alot
