I love this video! Thanks for showing all of your experiments; they are very helpful. I will be repairing an RV shower pan and decided to use flex seal and add seashells (much lighter than pebbles!) but did want to see if anyone else had tried it first. Yours wasn’t a shower, but the process is applicable. I plan to use white as the base and clear as a top coat to cover the shells. So excited to try it!
I tried flex seal, liquid for tiling a small bathroom, area, and then pushed flex glue, through the seams for grout lines. It seems it's possible to get a grout pen, for coloring the lines, but still investigating.
I wonder if rolling on some sort of oil over the top of the tile would keep the flex seal from sticking to the surface. By rolling it on you’d hit the surface but no oil would get into the grout lines.
I considered something like that, and taping over the top and cutting out the grout lines. The cutting was so time consuming I just didn’t think it was worth it. I could see oil working, but you’re right. If it got in the grout line you’d be in a tough spot.
Excellent job my friend.Our project is a access panel for our whirlpool tub that measures 1 foot by 5 foot . I was worried about grouting that with normal grout and thinset knowing every time we remove it i would crack the grout joints.I think this is what we need.Can u get different color grouts too?
That sounds like a perfect project for this! Flex Seal only makes black, white, grey and clear that I know of. However, I’ve been wondering if you could add paint or some pigment to the white or clear and make it different.
