reading all the comments about this being your dads' fave game when they were still here with us makes me happy. it was my dad's fave as well, he's alive but we haven't spoken in years. I purchased the trilogy of Lara's first three adventures on Friday, and I will go through every single level feeling like a kid again with my dad by mi side.
At more or less around 01:21:14 after Lara makes the jump, there's a leftover "detail" from the OG game many people have a hard time understanding about the music: The sound track "caves" wasn't originally meant to be "background noise" -- It quite literally was a music track that would play once (and not constantly looping) at select moments in the game. Other than that, the levels were all *completely silent* (other than the footsteps, grunts and growls from enemies). In TR2 however, that same track was reused as looping "background noise" in some levels, and because of that, there's this confusion of thinking TR1 is supposed to have that same track looping all throughout the game, but it isn't.
I'm still figuring out the controls for mine. The modern controls remind me of that of Tomb Raider Legends and Anniversary. I like how Lara will catch herself on the ledge. I also like the hit bar for the boss is very helpful. You can see how much life they have left.

I love that Lara doesn’t show the slightest concern about seeing a dinosaur. I know she’s fearless. But shouldn’t she at least be baffled about where a T-Rex came from!?
I always thought that, in the world of these Tomb Raider games, dinosaurs never went extinct. Not only doesn't Lara react at all when she finds them, there are more dinosaurs in the other games of the original series and nobody else comments on their presence. Maybe in this setting dinosaurs are still around and so people don't view them as anything more than regular animals.
It came out today in the UK! I started playing it and to be able to play these games again is such a dream come true. They did a great job! The adverts did not do it justice. To think I can play these games again for £22 is just amazing!

Just got this game yesterday n omg the graphics look amazing. U can also go from remastered 2 classic. Classic is definitely a must. But the remastered is awesome. All in all the game looks AMAZING!!!! Nostalgia all over again
At 11:35 you can skip the falling floor by standing below the platform you're supposed to go on the upper level and jump. This saves time and is a lot easier than going for jump before floor collapses.

Hopefully we will eventually get a more modern updated level editor for the Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered Edition on the PC version of course. Would be nice to create custom levels using this new remastered updated graphics engine.
i agree. I used to build early TR levels with Felix's non-official TR level editor.Eventually,Core Design brought out a level editor, but it wouldn't do the first 3 games. I built "Cape Fear"(TR2) and "Villa Mortal"(TR1) around 2002-2003, Kevin (the Vagrant)..so i'm thrilled to see these remastered games!!

that's a speed/covering distance trick to play levels faster,that's all. When TR1 first came out, nobody thought of playing the game that way as you wanted to stop,look around and marvel at what a cool game it was! How on earth do you swan dive in this game? Haha I am also playing on PS5 and I have finally gotten the majority down on how Lara maneuvers and this still escapes me! I immediately thought to evade the shock trap in St. Francis’ Folly by swan diving the distance of the floor. It was my go to when playing Anniversay, but despite trying what I think is the right button sequence, all I can manage is Lara’s midair about face. Please help! Update: Finally realized that it’s jump and walk together, not jump and roll. 🤦🏻♂️

Question. In the cistern level, you open the left door first with the first rusty key. I’ve opened the right one and I can’t access to the area the second rusty key beacuse of the level of the Water, although is already higher. Any thoughts or ideas of how can I get it?
Hmm I’m not sure! I never opened that one first as knew there were spikes down there. There might be a small gap you can swim into if you’ve raised the water

What made laugh about watching this when Lara is at the caves and pyramid, it was like watching Lara run around in Minecraft world, with all the blocks and textures 🤣
It's nice to actually see the entire game, I played the first tomb raider when it came out, I think I was 4 or 5 years old 🤣 I'm now 32, so I didn't really understand much of what I needed to do or where to go at 5, which ended with me just skipping the levels with cheats to complete the game 😂
I think the explosions should be a little more cartoonish and 2d, they look like TR3 fire and explosion effects. The explosions should be brighter and more infantile, less realistic. The pickable items should be less realistic, bigger and brighter too. But overall, this is amazing!

They worked well for the most part, some tricky bits as you can back/sidestep in that control scheme and certain platforming sections are difficult because of the lack of that
I heard there was a unlimited saves system that's naturally in the game but do you know which TR games for the remaster those are on? I hope there is one so it can make it more convenient when I do my speed run trophy😛

And speaking of new game plus, theres the speedrun trophies in each TR game and I'm assuming the speed run only means the base game and not beating it on new game plus? I'm guessing their new game plus playthrough means that enemies will be more tougher/stronger to strike down. More traps etc.
@@HarryNinetyFour Oh okay so it's recommended to use the manual save more frequently in levels when doing the speed run that it doesn't take the clock forward but it takes it more back? Good to know cause unlimited saves would make the speed run more convenient because if messing up or dying, don't wanna have to go all the way back from the beginning or when it was last saved to continue. Since they disabled the speed run trophy if cheats like level skip or Ammo or other things are used. This save system is a life savior lol

If you roll mid swan dive you’ll do a somersault so you weren’t completely wrong!

You can make that jump still without those platforms, but only way to restart level is to reload a save or to die and then select restart level

You can’t, unless reload a save. But none of he platforms make things inaccessible if they fall down

In tomb raider 2 the pick ups are very big, weird they didn’t do that with this game too. Some of the keys are very hard to even see

All of them, it’s only New Game+ that doesn’t have unlimited saves and the crystals instead

I'm guessing their new game plus playthrough means that enemies will be more tougher/stronger to strike down. More traps etc.
I got the speedrun trophy in this and in the second game. The timer goes back if you load a manual save so I just made use of them when I messed up
@@HarryNinetyFour Oh okay so it's recommended to use the manual save more frequently in levels when doing the speed run that it doesn't take the clock forward but it takes it more back? Good to know cause unlimited saves would make the speed run more convenient because if messing up or dying, don't wanna have to go all the way back from the beginning or when it was last saved to continue. Since they disabled the speed run trophy if cheats like level skip or Ammo or other things are used. This save system is a life savior lol
What I did was save at the start of the level, then ran to what I was confident doing without a save, then saved it. I’d reload if I went too slow
