- Das EFX - Mic Checka - Das EFX is an American hip hop duo. It consists of emcees Skoob (also known as Books, born William "Willie" Hines, November 27, 1970) and Dray (also known as Krazy Drayzy, born Andre Weston, September 9, 1970). They rose to popularity in the early 1990s due to their affiliation with EPMD's Hit Squad and the duo's stream of consciousness lyrical delivery, which became one of the most influential lyrical styles in hip hop music during the early 1990s. Their style combined nonsensical lines with a fast-paced flow (that included words that end with "-iggedy") and numerous pop culture references.

That boy said: I’m Higgity hot to trot, giggity got the Mott’s, Jewels + dreads, some chicks call me, Goldie Locs - Giggity gets the scoop from Peter Jennings dude, I spin like a Mag, and I stop like Peggie Flemming…. I miss the old school- I bought this CD when they first came out and was blown away with how different the style was from everything else in the genre. I still have the same CD and this is still one of the craziest styles ever recorded. Still dope-
Real hip hop can not be replaced!!!!
At least this COVAD19 quarantine got me listening to my childhood songs!!
Dead Serious is a classic album!!! DAS EFX was mad underrated!!!
As a kid has this on cassette.....wow!
Back when rappers had their own style nothing sound alike in the 90's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cornelious Worsham Sooo true. I say this all the time. So much originality and individuality back then! Today's music sounds all the same.
That's how you know hiphop is a black man ting. Each one can create a whole, new revolutionary hiphop style and universe.
What we got now is what the studios felt was most marketable.
yeah man,,, im not so sure you remember the 90's
Word up
Gotta disagree. Lots of niggas had that flippety flow and other styles there just wasn't no social media for niggas to complain about it
Daa Efx's style is so unique and dope, classic bars. 🔥🔥🔥
These guys were ahead of their time
Hip Hop TIMES INFINITY
Das EFX deserves respect. Always been incredibly unique, not a single soul can copy that flow and be on their level. Classic
Chip Fu can
Facts !! Nobody ever mentions them ,,come it ,, and dance or house party I went to was jammin there shits !! Underrated no doubt !!
Many in the early 90s did try... but it was merely imitation. These dudes are the pioneers and gold standard of the riggidy gigg flow.
I'll forever be 10 years old as long as I keep listening.
underrated DAS EXF.. this style could never be duplicated
Meth & Red
Still one of my favorite press play albums!! dirty..gritty...original...mad word play....everything this era's music doesnt have!!!
These dudes are incredible Lyricist and their flow is incredible so underrated it bothers me
At the time they were far from underrated. Heavily copied tho. "She hitting" on their style *coff* Fu Schnikins or sum ish.
This shit is Dope. This is real Hip-hop music.
Props due. Nothing will ever compare to 90's rap. Respect.
I miss these days ,,, when rap was real ,, I go back and do it all over again !
So thankful to have grown up in this era. Hip Hop was at its best.
Even in Nigeria back in 92-94 we loved these guys and watched their songs on Yo MTV Raps. Raw rap, creativity at it's best
But Nigerians dont like other black people.
29 years later and this song still rocks. I like the way they put the iggity in their words and lyrics.
The Golden Age of Hip-hop
"Kiggedy-kiss my grits, check the jingle
I diggedy-don't bruise but snooze like Rip Van Winkle
So twinkle, twinkle, twinkle little star
I sliggedy-slam dunk like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar" the Greatest creative Verse ever
I'm 20 I'm just hearing this song for the first time and I absolutely love it bro I mean the flow is insane! Bout to listen to the whole album and i love all time periods of rap all the way from the first rap song in 78 to 2021 but this is about to be among my favorite now!!
And they were college student when this came out...going after that degree and jamming at the same time....Das Efx!

I'm 20 years old this year. I feel like I'm the only one in my peers who loves 90's era 😅.in south africa few people listen to das efx
Got my VHS, CD, and cassette factory sealed. They will be buried with me.
This was some serious word play to this ryme style, no one was putting it down like this back in those days, they had a unique flow that I think is still previlant to this day
I was blessed and very fortunate to work for these guys and become really good friends with them since 1993 till today. I can honestly say that in my line of work I have seen many different kind of artist come and go, but this duo is definitely TRENDSETTERS and CREATORS of their own style. HIP HOP Hall of Fame material!!!!
dope!!
Daz Efx was at another level. What are they doing now?
Ask why they won't release this album uncensored

Still goes hard!!! Sad to say they wouldn't make it in this era. Definitely one of the top 10 groups/duos of the 90s
Timberland boots, cross-colors jeans, swiss hoodie + booti-giii-tii lyrics over a phat rhyme with samples 👌🏻
This is how I remember the 90s rap
Is it me or could this come out this Friday and people would go crazy in 2021... fire beat ..entertaining delivery and lyricss that ain’t serious just creative
Not enough songs from them can't stop listening to them wish they would do a 90,s reunion show they are that good and got mad skills
Still the Dynamic Duo of HipHop. I graduated in 1993 and wrote all my favorites on the white cardboard in my graduation cap… take a GUESS who’s name is SMACK DAB in the middle?
Till infinity ....90s forever
Remember the buzz they created in hip hop,Das EFX should be in Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame,Fu Schinkens are only group who can keep with these icons.

FFS they played in Switzerland tonight. I love them so much. I shake them up and down like the Dow Jones Index.
My memories brought me here. Salute to Das Efx
This may be the most creative song in the history of music (including classical). You had skills Beethoven, but you never miggedy-made the Wonder Twins deactivate.

Nothing today can touch this master piece.
They Dominated the time after this album dropped, they got robbed through they're contract with Parish. They Should Be Multi Millionaires by now !
Erick felt like Parrish was robbing him to... had some dudes break into P's crib... of course we know what happens next! Out of Business!
Bought this tape in Alaska back in the day. Bumped it stupid. Still much love for Das from the
Great Northwest.
I listen to this almost for a whole month .This was on my repeat mode always .This is hard .
love this! walking around nyc hearing kids practicing trying to improve their rhyme like this
There isn't a rap song that had a greater impact on my life than Mic Checka. Dead Serious is the title of their debut album, and they told the world "let me tell you something"
I biggity bum riggity rush chickedy chumps- I'm savage- I shakes them up and down like the Dow Jones average.
This is back when being yourself, an original and not sounding like anyone else was a prerequisite.
My era, yes indeed!✊ 🔥
There is no way to deny this beat.
The rhythm of Skoob & Dray is perfect.___________________________________________________

Bring these days back
I was like 7 when this came out. Dope beats and dope lyrics no cussing. So my people didn't mind me listening
As a late twenties italian guy idk how I've got here.
But I don't mind it at all !!!!
Definitely one of the great songs and beats in hip hop. I see why biggie and jay z were flowing like these cats back in the day
I f**kin love this song, wow. Its been too long since I heard this beat, tough tough tough!
Beat is straight thunder!!! Classic !!
legendary music,& rhymes. waaaaaaaaay ahead of their time. thank god i seen these gifted brother's perform.
ForeverRrrr Stuck on my DaS EFX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !90’s!
Songs such as this perfectly illustrate James Brown's idea of playing "on the one"- just play the dopest part of the song immediately and relentlessly....this joint is a guaranteed ass mover, classic.
That Sample is James Brown Think released the year I was born 1973!!! The drum track is the sample of Better Days from an old funk group from the 70s
James Brown "Think '73", James Brown "The Big Payback" & The Skull Snaps "It's A New Day"...
Now this brings back memories.
I got this CD for 1 cent from one of those free CD janks back in the day. Whole album was a banger and I feel bad.
My 1st time hearing this after listening to red and meths version for like 20 years it's nice 👌
When rappers had their own styles and nobody sounded alike..the diggity was DAS EFX style
Good old times!
All of there albums are good but Hold It Down Is Flawless & Timeless.
