@1:51 - That's a good point because if you really hook them together it won't trip when you push down on the bait plate. Also, the shaft from the bait plate can be slid in or out a bit to help align the two ends of the rods. Good helpful video. Thanks.👍
the havahart video shows the door straight up leveled but yours and mine rest slightly downward lol. i put a piece of bread in there for rats and i'll see what happens. the sensitivity thing is a good point.
I was having the same issue. I bent the long rod away from the cage a bit. The long rod that hooks to the bottom L shape small bar. Bend it just enough so it doesn't get stuck on the plastic lid.
I had a squirrel flip the trap upside down! Guess what? That releases the door which relies on gravity. My problem escaped. I learned my lesson, make sure to bolster the trap so it can't be flipped over. Other than that it works great!! Caught a wrong rodent 4 times but I finally got the one I was after.
Your video was extremely helpful. I could not understand the instructions on the box! Thank you very much.
Glad it helped!
Thanks a bunch, the 28 second instruction Havahart video is useless. YOUR VIDEO, however, shows in detail the sensitive trigger mechanism, good job.
Great video! Thanks so much! I could not understand the setting until you explained!
Thanks for thee video! You explained it much better than the included instructions.

Haveaheart needs to reconfigure where the releases meet. I cannot get mine to stay set. The older model had flattened metal pieces
Thanks for the instructions I just bought one

Thank you! The written instructions and video from the manufacturer were terrible.
Was looking to catch cats? Is it too small is there 2 openings
I taped the trigger rod to the rest of the assembly. I don’t understand why it doesn’t snap in.
My prop rod gets caught on the cage on the way up and doesn’t allow the door to close 🤦🏻♂️
On one of mine I had to bend it slightly. Do at your own risk though.
@@mackrobertson it’s just a poor design. They were completely fine until they had to go update the model
@@mackrobertson what am I bending ?

In addendum to message below....it took only 45 minutes for the First Success, thanks !
Should be added that this is catch and release, non lethal. Releasing "our little friends"? just continues the cycle of what a pest is.
