Add some color-even cheap acrylic paint can add a lot. Some borax and/or baking soda on the top can change up the texture. All kinds of options out there, stains, epoxy resin, micro powder glitter, and a million techniques on how to make it look like anything from slate to marble.
DUDE! Thank you! I've been going back and forth between morter and cement it never crossed my mind to just top it off with the morter. PERFECT solution for that sculpting!
Not gonna lie tho, I think you covered up some of your detailing with that last dusting of mortar man. But seriously everything else is perfect, I'm super excited to do mine now!
Thanks so much! It takes some extra time and can get frustrating at times but it’s so rewarding teaching them and I love when they ask to work with me!
Great DIY projects and love how you're involving the little helpers! Starting them as young as possible is teaching them your passion for DIY that they can utilize in their adult lives. It is easy to see that you are a loving Dad!
That is a great idea and really good work. Love it! Just a note on the strength of concrete. You need to water it for at least a week. Concrete absorbs water for over a month, which increases its strength. Without water it will become brittle.
Personally, I think he did a fantastic job and this is amazingly easy. Definitely inspirational. Hope you had fun with the kids. Thanks and have a great day.❤❤
This is really brilliant. You could probably use a spray can first to outline the shape/size of the 'stones' to make it easier and to get the exact/design layout you want.
It's been over two months....have you had any cracking or issues? Thank you for this tutorial. It inspired me to do the same thing in my yard and it turned out beautifully! I'm super thrilled.
Been looking at videos to make concrete pavers. In my opinion, this has the best looking, most natural, and easy to make process. Pure genius! Great ideas and video and helpers. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Doin’ it!
One cheeky question....do you think it will hold if I do this...for a car drivey? 😁 Perhaps going for a extra strength mix will do...I just love the looks and don't wanna buy massive stones!
Looks like my kids. Always wanting to be in the middle of projects helping. 😂 Has it not held up well? Noticed those questions have gone unanswered. LOL
Yeah they just love helping! Oh sorry, I’ve had too many comments to reply to all of them lately. But it has actually held up really well. No issues so far. And on the plus side, our kids have fun hopping from stone to stone every time we leave the house 🤣
It looks alright in person but the angle here makes it took a lot larger. Being different sizes helps it look more like a stone walkway and less like cement pavers.

Thanks for the tips! 😁

Glad I could help!
You’re a great dad. I need to learn how to have my little kids help.
Thanks so much! It takes some extra time and can get frustrating at times but it’s so rewarding teaching them and I love when they ask to work with me!
This is so cute to watch. The little helpers did great work. 🥰
Can you please do a year update on this video? Would love to see how this has been holding up

Thanks for the tip! Luckily it rained off and on for a week so I didn’t really have to go out and wet it down 😁
Perfect timing I needed to learn the best way to lay down concrete.
Glad I could help!

I'm loving your work crew! This teacher says "best classroom ever!".
Haha thanks! 😁👍🏻

Thanks for the idea. I usually make a frame but this is fantastic!
Glad you like it! Thanks!
this is perfect...tell me that it is not necessary to put wire mesh in the concrete so that it does not crack over time
Two thumbs up Dad!
Loved this idea! Thanks for showing.

Not yet! Looks great should last a long time.
Love how Daddy’s Sweet Interns signatures are on the paver!! 😉

Nice work. Good helpers, stayed right with you most of the way.
Great job.
Thank you! 😁
Most natural looking cement pavers on UA-cam
Thanks!!
That kid in yellow made the whole video...love it!
Haha so true! 😁
Looks great thx
Thanks! 😄

It should, I would recommend doing it at least 4in thick and then place some wire mesh or rebar to reinforce each stone.
Looks like the driveway held up ok. Nice job. Gave u a sub btw.
Hi, looks great, love the little helpers, just wondering will this work in colder climate because of ground freezing?
Nice job, it looks great!
How are these holding up?
Awesome video. Your kids are definitely making it easier for you lol
I would have had to do a dry pour. No mixing, no wet hauling.
Looks like my kids. Always wanting to be in the middle of projects helping. 😂 Has it not held up well? Noticed those questions have gone unanswered. LOL

Loooks great! How much concrete did you use per stone, roughly?
Around 2 bags per stone. Thanks!
Does anyone know the climate/state they are in? Thanks, such a clever way to do this!
Southeastern United States
Awesome 😎
Thanks! 😁
This is incredible? Do you think the process you followed is beginner friendly for a first time concrete pouring dad? 😂
The stone nearest the walkway seems too large compared to the rest.
It looks alright in person but the angle here makes it took a lot larger. Being different sizes helps it look more like a stone walkway and less like cement pavers.
Why not photos a month or so later? Argh!!!
😍😍😍😍😍
You didn't put baby hands or feet on one!
