I've had these in my R50 with a locked (welded solid) front diff and 31" tires for 2 years now and haven't yet managed to snap the hub itself yet! I've sheered off all 6 axle bolts and most recently all but 2 of the hub studs (I kept the original studs and bolts) though. Thankfully I have a number of hub assemblies on hand, so it was a simple swap postponing the extraction for later... Did you wheel while any of the studs/allen-bolts were missing? Just curious how close I was to needing a new hub since all but 2 were snapped before I fixed it the other day. Having to ford a creek after the hurricane obliterated a bridge to go anywhere, so it was used a time or two like that HAHA Thanks Helene for adding just a little off-roading to each and every commute!
Thanks! It serves a few different functions. For starters; it helps with gas mileage, not a whole lot but its something. Since im lifted, my CV axles are at a slight angle so it helps reduce the wear and tear of the CV's by not having them rotate when I don't engage them. Let's say one day you're on the trail and an axle breaks, you can disengage the axle and drive it home without having to remove the axle right away. Hope that helps!
@@passiondriven5648dang! When the best you get is 17 mpg, 2-3 extra is a lot! I gotta get me some hub lockers How are the ones you use here? Would you recommend them or another brand?
I came here to rewatch this because its not in my manual and im doing my wheel bearings next week lol!
🤣 hell yea!

Thanks dude! Yea its in the plans for the future. Hopefully by next year :/
Quick question how much lift do you run and how big are your tires did you have to change much?
Its about a 2 inch lift up front and 2.5 in the rear. 33 inch tires, I did have to do some trimming up front
Where u bought?
Great video, how much of a improvement on gas mileage!??
Thanks!
I have a rack and bigger tires but I would say about 2-3 miles per gallon. Nothing crazy by any means but every bit helps
