Love the short hair on you. I would say you should keep it short :)
It looks very nice, but I think you will probably be able to style it better. It's long enough to where you can do a low pony and maybe even a bun, my hair is this short and I can do both. I think that because you have thin hair (like me) a blunt bob would have been better, it give the illusion of thicker hair. And, I think those were the haircuts you were showing him were your inspo. He should not have thinned out the ends, my POV.
