Poor Topan only weighed 3.3 pounds. That's heartbreaking. I hope Topan becomes healthy and has a long life.
Don't worry, all of them ends up FAT like Beni and Velentino.
Their physical strength is amazing. Imagine an emaciated and dehydrated adult human being able to hold themselves up by one arm...let alone a child.
O yeah 0:50 that looks like a killer slingshot. I would easily get the world record in the orangutan slingshot launch distance.

These precious little baby orangutans! I love them, and I feel sad to see little tiny guy is so undernourished. I do hope there is some supplement for bottle feeding that will put weight on him on a daily basis. Please let us know how they are doing. I will do everything I can to encourage people who care about these precious creatures to provide assistance to you in the form of proper Foods, medicines and financial assistance for your caregivers and vets and premises. Again thank you all and God bless you.

I send financial support for Topan. The last update I received is she is still friends with Alejandro and they are now in group 4. Topan is healthy and a great climber.

the funny thing is: "To pan" - means in polish "it is men" ;)
Lost in translation. Or rather lost in subtitling. In Indonesian language they do not differentiate between pronouns 'he' or 'she' like they do in English. For humans they used the pronoun 'dia' (pronounced as "dee-ya" or you can pronounce it as you would say "dear"). As for animals they would used pronoun 'ia' (pronounced it as you would say english word "ear")-the equivalent of pronoun 'it'.
Also, I've read somewhere that the name Topan were usually given to boys. The subtitle writer must've thought Topan is male.

Topan is a girl, she is now almost 5 years old, and learn to the forrest school!! When she is 8 years, she go to an island with other oeranutan!! Great job from the ceepers and doctors and nursers from Bos forrest Foundation oeranutans!!!! God bles you all
Today, Susanne was released back into the rain forest. You all do wonderful work 😊.
i can't help hating the people who are causing trouble for wild life. Why should helping Malayans take precedence over saving orangutans?

Topan was found during a flood. That's why they named her Topan. It means typhoon.

I think Topan is one of the worst I've seen so emaciated. Literally just skin and bones. Thank you so much for the rescue, the food and hydration and oh yea, most of all THE LOVE!! We love all of you at BOS!! You're all amazing people. God bless!😊❤

Please take the diapers off when they are climbing. Just clean up after them. Diapers aren’t cheap and my heart does go out to all the great apes. We have done them wrong
Yes I agreed diapers aren't cheap. But can you also think about how hard the babysitter job is? With low income they have to take care of these babies 24/7, not only one, but maybe 30 babies! And they can poop not only once per day, and that will be a lot of mess, and the place won't be sanitary and more diseases, and they could even die from it! Can you imagine that? They did nothing wrong, they just try the best thing that they can do, Holly. These amazing babysitters have their own families, kids, but they sacrifice their time that they could spend with their families just to take care of these amazing species.
