As depicted within the concept artwork, the Doctor experimented on young children in varying ways, with one of them involving the effects of the Transmission on the minds of children. It showed near-mindless children grouped together in single file lines, silently standing still in a massive dark room. With each child, some sort of stem would protrude from their heads and into the screen of a television, which looked oddly organic. Mono and Six were supposed to quietly walk among them to avoid being seen, but this was cut from the game.

*unrelated but interesting thought/theory that I wanted to share* So, we all assumed Six's betrayal is what caused the time loop, everyone blames it on her, But I was re-looking at the story of the game and I suddenly saw it in a different way, *What if Mono opening the door at the end of the corridor was what doomed him and six to the time loop* , and not the betrayal at the end of the game like we assumed. It already looks like it is supposed to be a significant moment throughout the game, even being the nightmare mono seemed to have at the start. Not the betrayal assumed to be the cause of everything, the corridor with the door, and this is probably the reason. Six dragging him out of the tvs and saving him was her trying to break it without even having memory of the loop, it just felt wrong, But over and over again mono let the thin man out, which when I thought about it, was causing the series of events that forced Six into her betrayal, kidnapping her as thin man, allowing himself to do so as mono, turning her into a monster & a glitch child, which some think is actually her (and the other glitch kids') soul, betraying her (in Six's perspective) by smashing the music box, all causing her to betray mono every time. Not only Mono causing six to be forced to betray him, but refusing to let it go and causing a time loop to try to stop himself and get revenge on Six, only to cause the events that caused the loop in the first place, every time.

I have a theory on their names, I think in the art work for the children that their names are numbers like mono and six, and since mono is first and six is last the lollipop kid is Two or Duo or something that means the number two, The Girl with the bloody nose is Three, The Ghost sheets is Four, The toddler is Five. But that’s just a theory.

Drone level intellect Bosses are the broadcaster and geisha. (And the pretender in very little nightmares) Worker level includes janitor, hunter, teacher, chefs. (The craftsman, and the butler from very little nightmares) If the doctor is smart enough (and I don't doubt this because he is an actual doctor or at least close enough to it) then that puts him on the geisha the broadcaster and the pretenders intellect. I dunno bout this one, no disrespect ofc but I feel like if they wanted to correlate the characters they would’ve used a model or atleast drop references. I mean like it’s really broad about how there’s only one child in the hospital and the doctor knew the experiments they wanted to conduct. They wouldn't have used used a typical model for it since you do see its silhouette and legs. Also the comics aren't long before the game and the Doctor doesn't care about helping them because he was warped by the signal tower you think a Doctor who cared about there patients wouldn't rip them apart and put them back together and give them parts that aren't even proper human parts because he loves them and there is no proof of him caring for that patient and him chasing them because if it isn't proof because all monsters do that because their minds have been warped aswell as their bodies.
I don't really get this theory? We know that the doctor turns normal people into half-alive dolls. Some people think that the dolls stop moving in the light because they remember the operating lights and experience trauma. So, the doll is alive because its only recently been operated on. So I don't know how it could be her, the doll is normal sized and she's tiny.
I have a theory : What if the bullet hole, on the bag of the hunter head, were created by the pass mano and six, because what a signal Tower do is corrupt, at the end of the Hunter scene mona and six grab the gun and shooted the hunter, And that where the hole come from.
When the patient sort of jumps up and down after being disconnected from the life support you can see what looks like wires of tubes out of her head- these could just be her pigtails, more evidence for this theory

I think that the mono from the comics died but he being stuck in a loop, he revived and that is where the game starts, so the comics should take place before the game, and that should be why the pacient is big, the pigtails girl grew up

If the signal tower uh modified the world and made the people or at least the adults very aggressive and twisted then the doctor caring about her wouldn't make any sense because we see how he reacts to children he acts aggressive. and there's nothing about this girl that's special so it's likely that the patient was someone who was going to be operated on witch explains why we see him do what he dose. He's looking for the parts he needs to uh transform the patient into a manikin

The hospital girl was a glitching remains in the hospital section before mono found the living patient. It can be found behind the bars of the hallway where the mannequin arms come out trying to catch mono. There is a secret passage which is covered by a open door.
Actually you guys need to explain the meaning of “glitching remain”. As far as i know people think its either the soul or the soul when getting kidnap by thinman but here neither thinman nor death happened so the glitch cant be for the girl until you explain what is exactly the “glitching remain”
I would like to point out how in the comic you can see a figure standing behind the door that appears to have no legs or maybe has very short legs when looking at the down part of it. Maybe its the daddy long arms from LN1? Dont have an explanation of why he's doing it but yeah. Also when the spoon is tossed the figure disappears. I just came up with this little thing. Do you notice how there's some indication of death next to all the glitching remains? For example, the lollipop kid was presumably killed by the teacher. Let's say the pigtail girl somehow died next to the hole that her glitching remain can be found. Also we can see a glitching remain next to the TV on the shore right before entering the pale city. What if all the enemies in this game posses an ability to do something similar to what the Thin Man does to six? Like seperate the body from something? Maybe thats why theyre called glitching *remains* I might dig a little deeper into the game to provide full evidence to this theory but as for now i dont have much time and i would love to hear some feedback.
I doubt the dying patient is the girl. I have another theory of where the girl is right now. Just before the hallway where the mannequin hands pop out to capture Mono, if you head away from the screen you can reach a secrete room that looks very similar to the girl’s room in the comic. The creature inside the hole that throws back whatever you throw in (except the cheese and yourself) is the girl after the doctor’s experiments on her. I know if you throw in the cheese or yourself in the hole you hear mice sounds eating, but mice cannot throw items and would’ve easily crawled out of the hole if they are really hungry. The doctor could have done experiments on the girl making sure she cannot escape the room ever again. The reason why the “creature” never gets out of the hole is because they simply cant or because they are desperate to dig their way out of the room. It is an easter egg to the comic but thinking of that possibility freaked me out.
I believe it’s the Janitor, as he’s one of his special creations and that’s why the Janitor always has that neck cracking and off mask.. cause he had complications during his creation(like the doctor is Frankenstein and Janitor is his creation).
The signal tower seems to warp the things around it, so maybe the girl was kept there in the hospital long enough that she began to warp as well, making her body the size of an adult?
And there's the fact that her glitch is literally in a room on the game, yeah- this is kind of too much a stretch for me too. No offense though for the uploader though, a theory's a theory.
I think that girl was the person who dig and settled there.On LN2 before he could see the hands that wanted him to take(THE HOSPITAL), it was in the back where the bars or prison bars could be seen, there was a small entrance there where Mono could go and you went to the left and you would see a room.

Personally before I saw this video, I thought it was possible the patient could be the janitor. After seeing this video and the out of camera view of the body laying on the bed, I’m even more sure that it’s him because not only does he have short legs, it had mannequin arms attached mid shoulder - roughly about where they would have been cut clean from by the door when Six was trapped. The head shape is also similar and so is the torso. The doctor would have helped him before and realising he’d be the only one who could keep him alive, after all he’s had prior success to the procedure, the doctor would hate to lose someone that is part of the main character story lines. This may confirm it’s also indeed a sequel. ^~^

As I said in one of my other comments, the absence of informations can't be considered a proof. "The cities outside of the pale city are populated by unicorns! What? You say that's not true because there's nothing that prooves that? Well there's also NOTHING that goes against that!" Not only that, but if the girl could actually become an adult it means that at least twenty years have passed and the doctor in the comics is a balding middle aged man just like in the game, he should be an old man by this point. And if you want to say that the transformed adults don't age, please refer to the hyperbole at the start of this paragraph.
I like to think that the doctor didn’t try and experiment on her but instead was so impressed he tried to keep her alive as long as she could and when she started not being able to move or do anything he hooked up to life-support

I think the girl isn´t the patient unless she grew up. We don´t know when the stories of the comics happened, maybe were many years ago, months ago, or even in the future after the LN2 end. Edit: I just realized that the girl´s story couldn´t be in the future, because Mono and Six killed the doctor. Anyways, It's a mystery how long ago it been.
There is this channel called Ertyez (look up Little Hackmares) Anyway, he can hack the game to where he can look for everything with a 'camera'. Maybe he can look behind the curtains of the patient's bed? People would have to ask him and mention it though.
Don't know why but this whole spoon thing just made me think of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal, lol. In the book, the main character is digging a hole to escape prison before his execution and when he gets it done, it leads to just another prison cell. It turns out that the guards were completely aware of what he was doing, but they let him hope and have something to work for while he was imprisoned, so he wouldn't sit idly waiting for his execution. What a nice thing to do! To give him hope, yes? Or perhaps not. Maybe the doctor's experiment was just to see how long the girl's hope would last and how persistent she would be. Maybe it amused him. In the end, when the time came, it didn't matter what the girl did. When the door opened, her days were over and it was time for her execution.

Here is a theory. What if the doctor is actualy giving her spoons as a mental experiment. The reason she is in the same room at the end is becose the doc (doctor) made a replica. He recreated every spoon mark and simular. He might be keaping her alive until she grows up becose thats when he will use her face to make masks. We know he makes masks but where does he get his molds? My theory is that he captures children and keaps them away from the TV signals so they grow up with a somewhat normal face. But as the children grow up he does experiments with them and this is one of them. (Edit: i an whriting this late at night so i will probably misspel a lot of things)

Love your theories. I have another after playing again. I noticed Mono hears Six's music box in the TV's after she's been taken by Thin Man but it's distorted and backwards like when the final axe blow destroys the box in the final fight. Maybe that was Mono's aim all along.... He let Thin Man out on purpose and used Six as bait so he can guide his way through the TVs. That's why Six keeps dragging him back from the TV and stopping Mono reaching the door. When Six gets taken by Thin Man Mono doesn't help, he used her as bait so her music box could guide him through the TVs to get closer to the Tower. He tries to save her again thinking he can repair the damage and finally reaches her destroying her music box and returning her to normal. It's a step too far for Six, Mono used and betrayed her, that's why she lets him fall at the end, sealing his fate as the replacement Thin Man but Six won't come back to save him. Because Mono let Thin Man take dark Six away from her again she couldn't forgive him, dark Six in the secret ending is looking at the Maw in the poster to say that all she went through there regaining her soul is now for nothing as they are now separated again and the hunger returns. The rain coat may not be exactly the same one making it a sequel as Tarsier said it was. She finds one that looks the same, the lights flicker as it's a powerful reminder awakening Six to the trauma of the Maw and what she had to do. Just a thought that may be worth exploring and sorry I didn't think of this in time for the competition.

The other glitchy shadow children could even be times Mono tried before and failed leaving them in limbo. They could be the other monsters in the LN world. The one with the paper boat the ferry man, the one with the cages the Janitor etc....

Honestly the pretender is one of my favorite characters even though we barely see her. I just- She has this Azula vibe to her ya know? Although I’m pretty sure she ded cause judging by the kind of dress she’s wearing it would be too heavy to swim in, and would probably drown her. I don't understand the difference in sizes... Isn't six and mono so SMOL? From the little nightmares 1 when six was hungry, a kid throws a food at her. That kid is Bigger compared to six's size. How? And from the DLC. I thought the runaway kid escaped already since the path that the girl with the flashlight was already made before six was even able to go to the room that the runaway kid woke up from.

But over and over again mono let the thin man out, which when I thought about it, was causing the series of events that forced Six into her betrayal, kidnapping her as thin man, allowing himself to do so as mono, turning her into a monster & a glitch child, which some think is actually her (and the other glitch kids') soul, betraying her (in Six's perspective) by smashing the music box, all causing her to betray mono every time.
Not only Mono causing six to be forced to betray him, but refusing to let it go and causing a time loop to try to stop himself and get revenge on Six, only to cause the events that caused the loop in the first place, every time.

I have a theory on their names, I think in the art work for the children that their names are numbers like mono and six, and since mono is first and six is last the lollipop kid is Two or Duo or something that means the number two, The Girl with the bloody nose is Three, The Ghost sheets is Four, The toddler is Five. But that’s just a theory.

If the doctor is smart enough (and I don't doubt this because he is an actual doctor or at least close enough to it) then that puts him on the geisha the broadcaster and the pretenders intellect. (Someone might say the pretender isn't boss level but remember she's still a child when she is defeated and hasn't developed fully)
Which wouldn't make the doctor a boss level character like those three but in the same intelligence bracket. I mean that's a major thing. Because she did come back around. Why would he give her spoons to dig away then open the door when she comes back? Unless it was to check...
I dunno bout this one, no disrespect ofc but I feel like if they wanted to correlate the characters they would’ve used a model or atleast drop references. What I wonder is why the hell the girl's nose never stopped bleeding. Like, the bleeding should have stopped on its own at some point or the girl should have passed out from blood loss.
This is interesting I have a theory that the hanged man from first little nightmares looks exactly like the signal man from season 2 and now I’m wondering if he hung himself because of guilt from killing children?........
They wouldn't have used used a typical model for it since you do see its silhouette and legs. Also the comics aren't long before the game and the Doctor doesn't care about helping them because he was warped by the signal tower you think a Doctor who cared about there patients wouldn't rip them apart and put them back together and give them parts that aren't even proper human parts because he loves them and there is no proof of him caring for that patient and him chasing them because if it isn't proof because all monsters do that because their minds have been warped aswell as their bodies.

I don't really get this theory? We know that the doctor turns normal people into half-alive dolls. Some people think that the dolls stop moving in the light because they remember the operating lights and experience trauma. So, the doll is alive because its only recently been operated on. So I don't know how it could be her, the doll is normal sized and she's tiny.

Why do most enemies in the game try to kill us but in every other lore element they dont immediately try to kill if they find a child.. isnt it weird?
When the patient sort of jumps up and down after being disconnected from the life support you can see what looks like wires of tubes out of her head- these could just be her pigtails, more evidence for this theory

I think that the mono from the comics died but he being stuck in a loop, he revived and that is where the game starts, so the comics should take place before the game, and that should be why the pacient is big, the pigtails girl grew up

I don't personally believe this it's interesting but it kind of falls apart. If the signal tower uh modified the world and made the people or at least the adults very aggressive and twisted then the doctor caring about her wouldn't make any sense because we see how he reacts to children he acts aggressive. and there's nothing about this girl that's special so it's likely that the patient was someone who was going to be operated on witch explains why we see him do what he dose. He's looking for the parts he needs to uh transform the patient into a manikin

The hospital girl was a glitching remains in the hospital section before mono found the living patient. It can be found behind the bars of the hallway where the mannequin arms come out trying to catch mono. There is a secret passage which is covered by a open door.

I would like to point out how in the comic you can see a figure standing behind the door that appears to have no legs or maybe has very short legs when looking at the down part of it.
Maybe its the daddy long arms from LN1? Dont have an explanation of why he's doing it but yeah. Also when the spoon is tossed the figure disappears.

I just came up with this little thing. Do you notice how there's some indication of death next to all the glitching remains? For example, the lollipop kid was presumably killed by the teacher.
Let's say the pigtail girl somehow died next to the hole that her glitching remain can be found. Also we can see a glitching remain next to the TV on the shore right before entering the pale city. What if all the enemies in this game posses an ability to do something similar to what the Thin Man does to six? Like seperate the body from something? Maybe thats why theyre called glitching *remains*

I doubt the dying patient is the girl. I have another theory of where the girl is right now. Just before the hallway where the mannequin hands pop out to capture Mono, if you head away from the screen you can reach a secrete room that looks very similar to the girl’s room in the comic. The creature inside the hole that throws back whatever you throw in (except the cheese and yourself) is the girl after the doctor’s experiments on her. I know if you throw in the cheese or yourself in the hole you hear mice sounds eating, but mice cannot throw items and would’ve easily crawled out of the hole if they are really hungry. The doctor could have done experiments on the girl making sure she cannot escape the room ever again. The reason why the “creature” never gets out of the hole is because they simply cant or because they are desperate to dig their way out of the room. It is an easter egg to the comic but thinking of that possibility freaked me out.

Personally before I saw this video, I thought it was possible the patient could be the janitor. After seeing this video and the out of camera view of the body laying on the bed, I’m even more sure that it’s him because not only does he have short legs, it had mannequin arms attached mid shoulder - roughly about where they would have been cut clean from by the door when Six was trapped. The head shape is also similar and so is the torso. The doctor would have helped him before and realising he’d be the only one who could keep him alive, after all he’s had prior success to the procedure, the doctor would hate to lose someone that is part of the main character story lines. This may confirm it’s also indeed a sequel. ^~^

As I said in one of my other comments, the absence of informations can't be considered a proof. "The cities outside of the pale city are populated by unicorns! What? You say that's not true because there's nothing that prooves that? Well there's also NOTHING that goes against that!" Not only that, but if the girl could actually become an adult it means that at least twenty years have passed and the doctor in the comics is a balding middle aged man just like in the game, he should be an old man by this point. And if you want to say that the transformed adults don't age, please refer to the hyperbole at the start of this paragraph.

There is this channel called Ertyez (look up Little Hackmares) Anyway, he can hack the game to where he can look for everything with a 'camera'. Maybe he can look behind the curtains of the patient's bed? People would have to ask him and mention it though.
Don't know why but this whole spoon thing just made me think of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal, lol. In the book, the main character is digging a hole to escape prison before his execution and when he gets it done, it leads to just another prison cell. It turns out that the guards were completely aware of what he was doing, but they let him hope and have something to work for while he was imprisoned, so he wouldn't sit idly waiting for his execution. What a nice thing to do! To give him hope, yes? Or perhaps not.
Maybe the doctor's experiment was just to see how long the girl's hope would last and how persistent she would be. Maybe it amused him.
In the end, when the time came, it didn't matter what the girl did. When the door opened, her days were over and it was time for her execution.

Here is a theory. What if the doctor is actualy giving her spoons as a mental experiment. The reason she is in the same room at the end is becose the doc (doctor) made a replica. He recreated every spoon mark and simular. He might be keaping her alive until she grows up becose thats when he will use her face to make masks. We know he makes masks but where does he get his molds? My theory is that he captures children and keaps them away from the TV signals so they grow up with a somewhat normal face. But as the children grow up he does experiments with them and this is one of them.

Love your theories. I have another after playing again. I noticed Mono hears Six's music box in the TV's after she's been taken by Thin Man but it's distorted and backwards like when the final axe blow destroys the box in the final fight. Maybe that was Mono's aim all along....
He let Thin Man out on purpose and used Six as bait so he can guide his way through the TVs. That's why Six keeps dragging him back from the TV and stopping Mono reaching the door.
When Six gets taken by Thin Man Mono doesn't help, he used her as bait so her music box could guide him through the TVs to get closer to the Tower.
He tries to save her again thinking he can repair the damage and finally reaches her destroying her music box and returning her to normal.
It's a step too far for Six, Mono used and betrayed her, that's why she lets him fall at the end, sealing his fate as the replacement Thin Man but Six won't come back to save him.
Because Mono let Thin Man take dark Six away from her again she couldn't forgive him, dark Six in the secret ending is looking at the Maw in the poster to say that all she went through there regaining her soul is now for nothing as they are now separated again and the hunger returns.
The rain coat may not be exactly the same one making it a sequel as Tarsier said it was. She finds one that looks the same, the lights flicker as it's a powerful reminder awakening Six to the trauma of the Maw and what she had to do.
Just a thought that may be worth exploring and sorry I didn't think of this in time for the competition.

The other glitchy shadow children could even be times Mono tried before and failed leaving them in limbo. They could be the other monsters in the LN world. The one with the paper boat the ferry man, the one with the cages the Janitor etc....

Is there a possibility that at least 1 of the girls is still alive from very little nightmares? I mean maybe that girl with the braid and red rubberband survived and lost her raincoat. OOOR the pretender made her disappear, and maybe the pretender is still lurking around? Im eager to know more about either of them
Honestly the pretender is one of my favorite characters even though we barely see her.

From the little nightmares 1 when six was hungry, a kid throws a food at her. That kid is Bigger compared to six's size. How?
And from the DLC. I thought the runaway kid escaped already since the path that the girl with the flashlight was already made before six was even able to go to the room that the runaway kid woke up from.
