I don’t care if we got a dude that rides the bench, if we got a high ranked Auburn freshman I’m all for it! People make such a big deal about the turnover & transfer portal in football! Compare that to basketball! It’s not even close! The good players play one year & they are gone & the portal is nuts. A basketball coach can have a completely new team every single year! If your lucky 2 or 3 players come back to your team from the following year! Now imagine football turning over year after year like basketball does!

Corey Grant was an old school recruiting casualty. Back then teams use to sign guys knowing they aren’t going to see the field, just to keep them from going to other rival schools lol. Can’t do that anymore though with the transfer portal. RTR

I was under the impression we wanted numbers more than anything else.
The new arena is for the coach because it’s basically his domain and place of operations. And it’s for the fans. But you can’t win without players so something has to give. RTR
Okay so in basketball sec players can transfer to another sec school, but can't do the same thing in Football. make that make sense.
Football is a fall sport and basketball is a winter sport. This portal window for winter sports aka basketball and the portal window for fall sports isn't the same one this is the big window for winter sports like the January window is the big window for fall sports aka football. Not sure if winter sports has a second portal window or not like fll does.

Aden leaving was good for Auburn. It was good for Aden. He didn't have a great freshman season and perform to expectations, and most of your transfers were outstanding at their previous stops. Maybe he does well at Alabama. Tre wanted guaranteed playing time and more NIL and didn't inform the staff he was getting in the portal. He burned the bridge. Congrats on 10k, and good to hear level-headed Bama fans.

Why would a starter want to transfer to Bama where he'd have to compete? If he's a guy who's really good and confident in his ability and wants to play in top-tier program. A guy who comes to mind is Wisconsin cornerback Ricardo Hallman... Anyway, if only DeBoer would have done more to keep Amos I'd feel a lot better SMH

Because, genius, Deboer had the opportunity to try to get Amos (and Ricks) back before the portal closed. He also had the opportunity to try to retain Downs and to bring in his guy from Washington Muhammad all of which Deboer failed to do leaving Bama in a bind for proven DBs. And also because virtually NOBODY seems to be criticizing one single aspect of Deboer's job. Where is the objective Crimson goggle free analysis?
