Great review and yes that was also a great interview you did with Larry. The first thing I ever bought from him were some spring bars for my Seiko divers because Larry’s have the shoulders which aid immensely for strap changes. Went back for his Oyster bracelet for my SKX and I plan to pick up a V.2 waffle strap in the near future. I’m more than happy to support his business not just for the quality of the products but for his charity work. He’s one of the good ones.
looks amazing on the speedmaster! i just received this strap in a 22mm and put it on my skx009 because i was going on an outdoorsy vacay and wanted a nice rubber strap for it.
I think the v2 waffle is what I like, the look. I would probably like the tropic too but I just like the waffle look better. As for the chocolate bar strap those holes being so far apart might be a problem.
@@CasualWatchReviews oh that's too bad. They look almost dark navy. I hoped they had a blue option I missed. Maybe he'll have color options in the future. Thanks for your reply and great review!
Thanks for the review! I tried the Uncle Seiko's tropic strap once (in 19mm size) and honestly I wasn't too impressed with the quality. How is it compared with this Waffle 2.0? And... where did you get that beautiful Omega style Nato strap installed on the Moonwatch? :-)
Hi, the v2 are a lot more flexible than the first ones but still have that sturdiness to them that I quite like. The NATO is actually from Moose Straps a Canadian company. I did a full review if you check the video feed. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I watch your Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra upload. Very clean and professional looking. If you ever fancied doing a collaboration video let me know. You can email me at thecasualwatchreviewer@gmail.com
Love the channel. Keep up the good work. I saw someone on a forum claim that the tropic straps from cheapest nato straps are exactly the same as the Uncle Seikos at a much lower cost. I ordered some and I can't tell a difference at all. They seem to be exactly the same compound, they even have the same size spring bar holes. I would recommend checking out the cheapest nato strap if you are looking for a tropic.
Hi Dennis, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I actually bought one of the cheapest nato ones long before I heard of uncle seiko and I couldn't have been more disappointed actually. The ones I had were very very thick. I couldn't actually get it on the watch I wanted to put it on due to the thickness at the ends. Also they were not flexible at all and the design for the moisture holes was different form memory. If you have time you should watch my interview with Larry. Even if they have improved them on the Cheapest NATOS site the interview will go someway to showing why I wouldn't go anywhere else for mine ua-cam.com/video/zaTS5ykIGnE/v-deo.html
@@CasualWatchReviews they must have changed them because they are exactly the same now. I emailed you some side by side pics. The only difference I could tell was the buckle.
Hi, thanks for commenting. This has not been my experience with uncle seiko straps, the buckles are thin thats for sure but they are of decent quality in comparison to a lot of other straps I have had.
@@CasualWatchReviews Honestly, most people pay big $$ for branded straps, well branded anything really and most of the time (99% of the time) it's all made in the same sweat shops by the same manufacturers for an identical product, then some company pays a little extra for a logo. My point is, all these reviews about watch straps make me laugh because technically speaking, they are almost reviewing the exact same strap just with different logos. Technically, the only thing that should be reviewed is whether you like the logo or not, not the strap- or how much you want to hand over of your hard earned $$- Albeit, the original Swiss versions that now are now NOS- and sell for insane prices, were only around $1.50/2.00 when they first came out many years ago and quite poor quality at that- All these reproductions, no matter who makes them, all come from China and whether you're paying $80, 800 or 8bucks - they all cost less than 50c to make!
This is not my experience at all. I have had many of these straps. Multiple reviews on the channel, I’m actually working on another Uncle Strap review currently.

Hi Steven, thanks for commenting. Yes it was a pleasure to do this interview I was lucky Larry let me make it! Great guy!
As soon as I saw the tropic strap I thought you should put it on the Speedy. That tropic looks fantastic. Thank you for another great video Sam :)
Yes it had to go on, and it looks really good actually. I was impressed!
Uncle Seiko really produces quality products. Terrific review
Yep I’m a big fan. The interview he did with me was fantastic!
Those look great, Sam! The tropic on the Speedy is also one of my favorite combinations, and the waffle strap looks cool!
Thnaks Shawn, yes it was an odd pairing but I think really works. Although, is a reference speedmaster with a white tropic??
looks amazing on the speedmaster! i just received this strap in a 22mm and put it on my skx009 because i was going on an outdoorsy vacay and wanted a nice rubber strap for it.
Oh Awesome Ron, you will have to let us know how you get on with it!
I have a Seiko SNZH57 FiftyFive Fathoms on order and think that the US Tropic strap is REALLY going to look great on it!!!
Thanks for this review. Exactly what I was looking for!
Hey, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching and commenting!
I order just today my Uncle Seiko TROPIC strap and I'm very excited to put on my Seiko SRP779J1.
Oh you will love it!

Excellent review. Thank you.
Thanks Scott, I also was lucky enough to interview Uncle Seiko ua-cam.com/video/zaTS5ykIGnE/v-deo.html
Peut on les monter sur les montres Orient kamasu 3 ?
Looks, good mate! I just bought Larry's Razorwire bracelet for my Pepsi Samurai so I'm excited;-)
I have two razor wire bracelets, they are my favourite bu a long shot!
What watch are you wearing at the start with the nato? Looks really nice
I actually think it was an Invicta pro diver!
Hello! Can you please give an update of Tropic Rubber strap. I have heard that it is a bit stiff and uncomfortable.
I have had not problems with it, in fact I'm a big fan of it the Uncle Seiko Tropic straps!
Those looks navy blue. How's you get those? I only see black on his site.
Yep these are black also
@@CasualWatchReviews oh that's too bad. They look almost dark navy. I hoped they had a blue option I missed. Maybe he'll have color options in the future. Thanks for your reply and great review!
WatchGecko do a blue and the Zulu diver site
What are the aftermarket fat bars with a shoulder you mentioned in this video?
Hi, thnaks for watching, you can buy them on amazon here amzn.to/2mtNi20
Hi did you get the short or longer version of these straps for your wrist size? Cheers
I think this version was all one length!
I want black coated backle
You could ask on the site?

other video on youtube said the keeper on Tropic strap always slide down, is it true?
I honestly never found this to be the case on my ones if that helps.
Which straps rubber is softer?
Hey Bill, thanks for watching, I would say Its the Waffle one for sure!

Thanks Dennis, let me take a look.
what is the kickstarter watch?
Hi Joey, it was actually the Maen Hudson I bought it for!
Blue strap black buckle
Ask uncle seiko on his site,
Awesome
Thanks for watching Kevork, they are cool straps!
Uncle seiko waffle strap are thin compared to other waffle straps.
Yes one of the advantages to the process he uses is he can have them made thinner.
@@CasualWatchReviews when being thinner it feels it can snap
@@CasualWatchReviews I fine my uncle seiko waffle strap to be uncomfortable and sweats my wrist when I take my watch off.
I have owned and reviewed many uncle seiko straps, I don't find this to be the case at all.
The Tropic straps are very nice but the buckle is thin and not good quality.

They're all made in China lol
Where did you think they were made? Italy and China thats your two choices for rubber straps
@@CasualWatchReviews Wasn't a question - they're all made in China, especially your Uncle Seikos
Yep they are… just not sure why that made you laugh out loud?
@@CasualWatchReviews No, that's "lots of love"

Rubbish straps won't last a year. They will just crack and break apart. Had 4 of them before, 2 waffles and 2 tropics. Cheap and not good
