The CoCo has been alive and well in the 21st Century lots to catch up on, now that the imacoconut.com site is back up, check that out for links, check out our discord server, too discord.cocotalk.live
I got the CocoSDC and copied that complete directory of Coco SDC Image (2022-03-20) to the root of my SD card that is 8gb in FAT32 and I put it in the Coco 2 and turn it on, but all I get is the Color Basic 1.2. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
ok yep thanks I have a question about the Dragon32 Im trying to save out a machine code word processor called Wordprocessor for the Dragon in Dragon User 1985 magazine but i dont know the proper save values start, end exec etc please help me if u can thanks.......................
Great video. Just ordered my SDC from ED. Is there anything I need to do to the sd card for the SDC to read it or will it work out of the box. Also what size sd card works best?
I think it needs to be formatted as FAT32, I think mine is like 2TB, I'm not sure how big the maximum size, is, but 2TB is small for SD but I think bigger than you need. There is an ultimate SD image on the color computer archive, my collection is a hodge podge at this point.
"...I think mine is like 2TB, I'm not sure how big the maximum size, is, but 2TB is small for SD". Surely you mean 2GB - 2TB would be maximum overkill for holding CoCo software...
I have a Tano Drago, but I think it has a different DOS, there is a way to change the ROM backs in the SDC to use different DOS versions and I think a few dip switches may need to be changed.
TANO was a company in the U.S. who made the US/NTSC version of the UK Dragon, it was available for sale in the US around the same time as the CoCo 2 computer.
The SDC explorer is software that runs on the CoCoSDC which is real hard ware, it's job is to navigate the content on and SD card that you've mounted in the controller. This particular controller isn't emulated, so this software only runs on real hardware that uses the CoCoSDC device.
5 years later and these instructions still work on the latest versions. Thanks!
Fantastic...I still have CoCo II , although diskettes are old, worn out) and this is coOL to re-discover.!!!!!!

Thanks. Could not find anything in SDC manual that gives a SD size. Maybe I just missed it. Trying to learn all I can before mine comes in from ED.

This Tandy coco sdc can it be downloaded as a rom file? To be emulated in xroar? Thanks
No the CoCoSDC is hardware, it's an emulated disk controller that is designed to plug into a real computer.
have you got a new dragon 64 from tano new orleans?? thanks bless you ………..

The SDC is hardware for real CoCoS. Emulators already have the ability to load DSK images, you just don't have the fancy menu within the CoCo.
i mean the coco sdc????thanks ………
