Always loved your vocals and they sound amazing on this, works so well with Tom's. It was great to hear your amazing voice again at the Rugby World Cup Final, Old Trafford, last November.

This song reminds me of when my daughter was born she died 3 days old each one of those days I spent with her was a perfect day
Sorry for your loss, glad you got to spend that perfect day with her and you will never forgot that moment however fleeting it was.
You will see her again in heaven and every day will be perfect day x
god bless you
Oh my luv your pain 💔💔❤️
This made me burst into tears. Bless you and your family , may all your days be perfect ❤
I"m so sorry....i hope your alllright....!
"I thought I was someone else. Someone good". That one line says so much to me.
Hope not, Lou Reed wrote this about his depression from heroin addiction…..
@@stoikesthat's why it's so poignant
Take me back to the 90s 😢
I don’t care who you are these artists won’t ever be repeated. 20,40,60 years later.. thankyou I was brought up with this ✌️
I remember the bbc using this for the 75 years of broadcasting promotion in 1997 and raised loads of cash for Children in Need appeal that year
Heather Small's voice gives me chills a perfect song all fabulous voices
Emmylou Harris on the "you just keep me hanging on" perfection
my fav bit 😍😍😍😍😍
Not that perfect, the line is Lou Reed essentially saying that the only thing stopping him from committing suicide was when he got his next hit of heroin…
@@stoikes They're not celebrating the meaning of the line, but its delivery. Bloody hell mate.
@@auto2112 Hmm, still, I am right.
I've been asking people for years who sang that part. Thank you! Started listening to "Luxury Liner" after discovering her name. Amazing voice and Harris's delivery in this song has impressed me since the 90's
Didn't know this existed, so glad I found it (a positive thing from the recent death of Shane McGowan). Lovely version of a wonderful song. Missing Bowie, Dr. John, Lou Reed (of course) and Shane McGowan. ❤☮🌎
You've the best taste in music. Grieving for shane mcgowen here
His line is my absolute favourite. "It's such fun" sung totally deadpan.
The song is by Lou Reed writing about becoming suicidal from heroin addiction, it’s not really that positive…..
This is probably one of the best collaborations ever. Freaking amazing.
Other than that I just can think of "We are the world".
Heather's line is the most pitch perfect! She rocks..
120%
She has the most fantastic voice!
Such an appropriate song with an appropriate message for this day exactly
The 24th of February this year , the 2023
And last year 2022
SUCH A PERFECT DAY
REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!!
thank you for doing this
Fantastic❣️❤️
Timeless 🥰👌🏻
Man I miss my childhood. There was a level of optimism back then which we never regained.
This song is about the misery of heroin addiction and becoming suicidal…. just saying
agreed about the optimism . I miss that.
yes i understand
That's called growing up my man
True.
Tom Jones does - gospel - yeah man! What a 'perfect' song ..... xx
I'm going to have this at my funeral💕 it means loads to me.
Don't think it's really appropriate for funeral. It's hardly the perfect day is it? Lol. Maybe your wedding?
@@KanyeBreast4 a funeral song,is a song that means something personal to you,and this is the one for me..
@@rachelbanks9871 Well it was just a joke. But still. I'm sure your mourners won't think burying you will be the perfect day for them. "You're going to reap what you sow?" Not sure that would go down well haha. It's up to you obviously. I was just kidding
I'm having at my funeral! It's what u want not what everyone else thinks
Exactly that...❤
I love Heather..
beautiful song. great singers 👍♥️🇬🇧✝️
Самая любимая песня, самые прекрасные исполнители и удивительно красивый клип!❤❤❤❤❤
BBC Perfect Day with Celebrities The BBC is What You Make It (Reap What You Sow)
I dorgot how uplifting this song was
Atemporal.
Wow! A superb version of a great tune!
Dusty Springfield 😍😍😍😍
Don’t know why but I just love perfect day😊
Top tune.
This song reminds me only !, on just one perfect day !😎🌞
And 2 years before that Duran Duran did a cover of it, which Lou Reed himself (who is also among the Various Artists here at the beginning and end) hugely admired.
...♥remembering my mother Patricia Morris, for me every day was a perfect day with her...Delia Morris
Beautiful music
Ive got the special behind the scenes VHS of this that was given away by Radio Times one year!
It's my day
Maxx wow made me smile
Seeing you trini and Christopher amazing
Love scar oz.
6 września 2024😊
So many are gone now...
"its such fuuuun*
Shane mcgowan
💓
❤❤❤
Better than the original.
What’s the name of the artist at 2:38? Nostalgia hits hard
It all gets a lot darker when you understand Lou Reed was writing about his suicidal relationship with heroin…. Hence why BBC have now removed themselves from this
Didn't Lou Reed write this about being high on heroin? Interesting choice for the BBC! Brilliant version of this song though!
No, he didn't. In an interview in 2000 Reed stated: "No. You're talking to the writer, the person who wrote it. No that's not true. I don't object to that, particularly...whatever you think is perfect. But this guy's vision of a perfect day was the girl, sangria in the park, and then you go home; a perfect day, real simple. I meant just what I said."
Thank you for correcting me . I did wonder. @@TheAmarok87
😢😢❤❤❤ XXX
Did the bbc really use this to justify the licence fee
Does anyone know if you can purchase? This is an MP3? I can’t find it on Apple Music.
How do I find this exact version on Spotify?
You can't. The bbc removed it due to it being about heroine and suicide
FEELS BETTER WITH A BIT OF SMACK
Question did boyzone have worms that day
As of 2023 five of the performers have died :-(
Bowie died? I heard Bowie 's music every single day
I adore this song reminds me of being a kid in the 90s and it still as beautiful now as it was then ❤
90s kids unite!
Here in Russia we heard this during the Christmas time. I miss the 90s. 90s kids forever.
This was the last record my lovely mum bought me. This is real treasure and will always love it xxx
I have never experienced a song that gives me so much emotion, absolutely stunning and best version of this song. Whoever found the combination of vocal talents deserves a medal, even all these years later it never fails to give me chills and tears to my eyes.
100% my thoughts!
You can thank the BBC, British Broadcasting Corporation ❤
BBC Advert
It is the BBC production
This is the best version, although I do like Duran Duran's version as well.
Here in Russia we heard this during the Christmas time. I miss the 90s. 90s kids forever.
russia is big shit 💩
The artists chosen are PERFECT, but i just love the bit when Bono comes in. Maybe just me, but they all complete this song PERFECTLY.
I like the bit where Bowie sings “You made me forget myself “ but yes, the whole thing is glorious!!!
Love when Evan Dando comes in, his pose, his look, his voice.
This song deserved so many more deserved artists, especially as it was a production of the late great Lou Reed x
Not really, it’s about suicidal thoughts and heroin addiction
Bowie is the king of cool in this video
I always come back to this as a Christmas song lol. And every time it brings me to tears, but in the best way❤
Me too!
Heather Small is just perfect with the perfect voice
True 😊😊😊
Normally, I don't like her voice, I find it harsh, but on this, she is great.
Unbelievable, it just takes my breath away.just perfect.🩷.
Can't believe this not on Spotify
The BBC removed it when they realised it is about heroin and suicidal thoughts. Lou Reed wrote it when he was in the depths of heroin addiction…..
@@stoikesThey should just put it back on there because it’s a song that shouldn’t be missing on spotify
@@basvandetas It’s a song about being suicidal and heroin addiction? How should it not be missing unless the context is actually acknowledged?
It’s shit just listen to the original
Have been, on and off, listening to this since it first appeared. Still summons up the same emotions. Thank you, whoever put it together: the world is forever grateful.
Bloody hell this was 27 years ago, and look how many of these people are no longer with us... :(
This is my favourite version of this incredible song, and your voice the pick of the lot Heather. Thank you for making an old man happy.
Still a favourite of mine the vocals and directions and complete differences between the artists unique voices blend so nicely it’s amazing 🤩
Takes me back to Christmas 1997.
I miss these days... but I'm glad I got to experience them... bittersweet... ❤
1155pm and I've just had an almost perfect day, don't get many. Appreciate them when they come along folks.
it would have been nice if Gabrielle had more than 1 line
4 Minutes, charity song gotta get as many artists into that timeframe.
I agree
no one had more than one line . It was for charity .
Bowie smashes it out of the park
Listened to this single over and over again when I was a child. It definitely made an impression on me, I will literally listen to any genre of music.
Oh God I miss David Bowie
I thought i was someone else, someone good,,hits hard
Shane McGowan, goodbye.
They should re-collaborate this song for 2024
A song that reminds me of when times were good
Went back to this song after a long time. Love it as much now as I did then!
Just listened to it today as I did years ago a bloody amazing mix of voices on a wonderful song
Wow, I forgot how sexy Heather Small's singing voice is ❤ and RIP Shane McGowan of The Pogues and David Bowie and aorry to any i may have missed ❤
I was 13/14 in 97 when I heard this. Had the cassette and I went to England because my grandma was dying so this reminds me of that time. My last day with her was a perfect day too.
Brings back so many memories of being a kid in the 90s
This song December 1994
BBC in the day and all it’s talent
For me the best voices in this are Heather Small and Tom Jones! Amazing.
💯 correct.
Love the part where Ian Broudie comes in
Me too. Such a brilliant vocal.
Brilliant song 🎵 they don't do collabs like this anymore
Your voice is wonderful ❤️ I grew up with the mpeople in my 20s fantastic ,but your voice alone is magic 👍
Isn't this song about Heroine!
I've been listening to this song for decades, and I never get tired of it. And this arrangement is just beautiful 😍
🥰🥰🥰
MAN! that was my 90's song! but only now I realized it's a "commercial" for BBC, SMH, LOL.
as per Gemini google:
The image you sent is an advertisement for the BBC, a British public service broadcaster. The text in the image reads: "This is only possible thanks to the unique way the BBC is paid for by you."
The BBC is funded by a compulsory subscription fee paid for by all viewers with a television license. This means that the BBC is not reliant on advertising revenue and is able to produce a wider range of programs, including news, documentaries, and dramas, that may not be commercially viable.
Public service broadcasters like the BBC are supposed to be independent of government control and commercial pressures. This is meant to allow them to produce programs that are in the public interest, rather than programs that are simply popular or profitable.
Reminds me of my 2 uncles this song miss them both so much inspiration

Simply cannot improve upon the beautiful simplicity of Reed's original. Nice thought as a tribute to him, though.
We all have our our favourites. Bowie is mine.
Brett is mine
Gabrielle for me
Las melodias, las voces, los estilos, todo encaja en la perfectaarmonía"❤😊
I remember buying this on cassette when it was released many years ago and I played the heck out of it. Often the originals are truly hard to beat , this being one of the few that I thought was better. Lou Reed did write some amazing songs 🪦 ❤️
When you just have the most perfect day and this song pops into your head and you just have to listen to it ❤
Lou Reed R.i.P❤

makes you feel humble. Emotional. Small and big. Human... forever loving this version :)

First tape I ever brought as a kid - didn’t know who most of them were at that point, I just heard perfection 👌🏽
My dad died in 1998. I was a confused teenager back then. My cousin gave me a CD with this music on it. I listened to it hundreds of times, crying, remembering memories of my dad and all the perfect days we had together. This song is so special to me 💔 If your father is still alive, go and tell them you love them. Tomorrow might be too late.
Perfect goosebumps
