The words “you give me a strength unparalleled, but nothing compares to how much I’ve bled,” I think it’s about the fear of getting into a previous relationship after previously been hurt in that relationship. You care about the person but you lose yourself. You don’t want to think about the consequences but the thoughts just sit in the back of your mind and you don’t want to get hurt again. I’ve been there. Another version of this can be someone who’s been hurt many times over a long time and is simply afraid to commit to that new someone who actually seems like the one they need in their life but the scars from the past still surface your anxiety to try again.

If you have a fairly resolving system or decent headphones, the shifting vocals are amazing in themselves (little subtle "whispers" at the beginning and parts of the song are what I am referring to). I have a SMSL A300 integrated amp, Q Acoustics 3020i speakers, RSL Speedwoofer 10s, and Topping E50 DAC. The sound and mixing are impeccable in this song and all recent ones.
