He spent the whole time preparing that speech
lmfao
It would explain why it was so good lmao
Keith Szarabajka, who also voiced Harbinger in Mass Effect 2 and 3. One of the best voice actors in video game history.
@@madsquirrelmods3035 also Joshua Graham in New Vegas
Nah I'm pretty sure that was all off the top of his head
"Time was your ally human, but now it has abandoned you"
Man that's a powerfull line right there.
That is up there with “Peace has cost you your strength. Victory has defeated you.”
It perfectly describes how i feel one night before my exam
Especially if you've read the books and know the whole story of the Didact. If Chief had any idea who the Didact was, he would be running for his life lol. Still mad about Halo 4's ending. The Didact should have been the main villain and his redemption arc in Epitaph should have happened in the games. He could then help and fight the Flood in the Precursors' final test to test Humanity
2:49 - One of the most badass quotes in Halo history.
The Majestic Mr. L "time was your ally, but now it has abandoned you." excellent writing.
The Majestic Mr. L vvvcxccccvcvcwww
You got that damned right!
Any of you teachers out there! play this in an exam with 5 min left plzzzzz
“So fades the great harvest of my betrayer”
that part when the helmet builds on to his face is probably the most bad ass villain scene ever
@@sddestroyabottt7518 facts
Looks cliche to be, like try-hard, show-off tech, no practical reason for its innovation and technological evolution (that functionality must have been revised countless times, and the essential intent was just for the surface level vanity, lol 😂) ~ as if to say: "look how advanced I am".
Yeees... But is there a practical purpose for it, and especially given the amount of resources and time that likely went into refining that single 'function'... 🗿💧
It is still funny thou, the minor lapse in judgement, ahahaha 😂😅
@@Human_01STFU, no one cares
@@Human_01 why are people like u like this
After millions of years Master Chief is the first human to meet/see a forerunner. Fitting for the hero walking man into the future
100,000 years
He saw librarian 5 minutes before
I am once again asking why the Didact wasn't the main villain of the new trilogy/saga. You can't just name a character "Shadow of Sundered Star" then kill him off immediately, shit is criminal
Because the writers didn’t know what the fuck they wanted to do.
My homie the didact is the harbinger in halo infinite
I'm just as pissed as you, too; they need to rectonn Halo 5 and restart the whole thing with a massive re-write and refocusing on that saga's storyline, and bring back the Didact as the central villain of Halo 5 & 6, and not just Halo 4.
Maybe if the Didact returns as a Promethean...
@@Jedilord882 To be fair they actually kinda did, it's just that the fan backlash to Spartan Ops made them reconsider a second season which is why Halo 5 is practically telling a different story.
This is such a crazy thought, the covenant watching chief get pulled in by the didactic and mocked, the covenant know this is truly a god. The demon who massacred so much of them, destroyed many vessels and sabotaged many plans is beat down by one forerunner.
Seeing a demonic figure you and your religious brothers feared - known to have destroyed multiple sacred rings, get destroyed effortlessly by the God(s) you worship. This only sealed their faith.
This is me anytime my siblings wake me up from a nap
LOL time was their ally...but now it has abandoned them...you have awoke!
This tomb is now yours
@@lakshaysingh4901 yes😂
*The dogs lay down*
Even these beasts recognize what you were oblivious to.
"The Forerunners have returned...this tomb, is now yours."
Such as badass line!
Lol
Just like Joshua Graham from FONV. Same voice actor tho😂
It's noticeable while Didact call Sangheilis as beast he talks to John-117 as his equal. Probably because humans were only civilization that went toe to toe with Forerunners.
Someone teached him that line and it was not a forerruner. It was a precursor who said that once
@@Cherub-vl9bc who?
Killing off the Didact in this game was the worst mistake 343 had ever made, he could have easily become the primary antagonist for whatever Reclaimer Saga they were planning starting with this game; their very own Darth Vader for their Reclaimer Saga.
The heavy back neck armour was most likely there to keep infection forms away
Voice actor is really cool
Keith Szarabajka, hes one of the best voice actors ever!
He isn't
@@chvlogzz8069 why not
@@nathandominie914 I changed my mind a bit his writing was the problem not the voice
@@chvlogzz8069 I feel like he should have been the main villain for the new trilogy. I mean he’s pretty much the master chief of the forerunners
the sound effects in this game are absolutely incredible.
Man this was actually a VERY good campaign.
Better than Infinite’s imo
@@Jedilord882 Gameplay wise no imo,

When people think you're talking about an extinct alien species, but you're actually going to Moab in a Toyota 4Runner.
Such a powerful character.. they should not have killed him off. Hope he returns and the Primordial confronts him one last time!
Fun fact:The didact is voiced by Keith Szarabajka, the same guy who voiced Joshue graham in Fallout:New Vegas
He also voiced Dr. Kyne in the original Dead Space and Russman from CoD BO2.
How to use Flood tactics 😈 against the flood, which uses humanities strengths against humanity, which in turn says hello Sangheili.
And dats how dats done and done. Put it on da news
I think I have seen this scene 30 times already, and I still can't stop watching it
Best scene in Halo 4
"The Forerunners... Have returned."
Me then: "Wow, wait what?!"
Me now: "Pff, wasted poten-"
*Yes, run little demons!*
Me: "...Okay i'm listening."
The Ur-Didact could’ve been a compelling and great antagonist for the trilogy. Instead, we got Halo 5…
Both games are good
They set this villain up so well and then completely wasted him
I know, they could have had the new trilogy to stop the Dicact, or at least beat him in halo 5... to see him in halo 4 and kill him a few missions later was a bit... meh :/
It was not wasted you’re bitching
@@joshuawillis602 The Didact seems to be finale villain material like The Truth from Bungie's trilogy.
One of the best introductions to a villain ever. kickass voiceacting + the didact was one of the strongest individuals in the halo canon. he was cool, mean and looked kickass. what do they do to him --> kill him of with a 2 button QTE.. i hate halo 4 so much...
***** He did not defeat the flood, the flood stopped attacking because they wanted humanity to obtain the mantle. The forerunners believed that they created a cure to combat the flood.
You really think the Didact is dead? Little fool, the Didact was stunned by a pulse grenade, and fell into the composer's beam (which, if you watched the terminal videos, you'd know he is very much immune to) and ended up where ever the slipspace portal beneath the Composer was sending the human essences to. don't believe me? Read the latest issue of Halo Escalation. Your dislike of Halo 4 is thereby rendered baseless.
gettotheGate The Composer was firing the other direction to the direction the Didact fell… Not to mention that the Terminals are full of inconsistencies as well.
Yes, the Didact is dead. All players killed him with a sucky QTE, which will remain a sucky disappointment every time anyone plays it.
Fortunately Bornstellar probably isn't dead.
...I say again, he IS immune, and you WILL read the latest escalation comic, which SHOWS that he IS alive, you frelling noob. NOW CHECK THE SOURCE MATERIAL BEFORE YOU REPLY TO ME AGAIN!
Little fool, I mentioned that Bornstellar probably isn't dead. What haven't you read the Forerunner Saga, you frelling noob. At least check the relevant source material before making claims.
To be honest, the main reason I commented was not on the validity of your claims but the arrogance with which you made them. You insulted people over comments from 5-6 months ago, who would have had no chance to read the latest Halo: Escalation comic, over information that was only confirmed in Halo: Escalation. Do you see the lack of logic in your reasoning there?
he has the force
it depends of their form; the Warrior-Servants (like the Didact) had six fingers, but the Lifeworkers (like the Librarian) had five or seven fingers
@@sddestroyabottt7518 there were female Warrior-Servants (and Prometheans) too; all Forerunner rates were made by both males and females
oh, and by that time, I forgot to mention some Forerunners have more or less fingers by personal choice
I'm nearly done with the forerunner trilogy on Audible! I'm SUPER excited for the Halo 4 MCC release on PC tomorrow!! 😍
KEITH SZARABAJKA, LEGEND
forerunners look like walking gaming desktops.
REPLY
Haha thats sweet
SPOILERS!
Actually the forerunner killed all the precursors... they then mutated into flood and sought revenge and saved the humans from extinction... yes the flood saved us all!
Source: Halo Silentium.
This reminds me of that scene from Prometheus, when the humans wake up the Engineer.
To think he was gonna be the antagonist for this trilogy......too bad we got *Evil Cortana"*. Having one of the last Forerunners as the central antagonist would've been so interesting; especially when Halo 4, 5 & 6 were to explore more into the Forerunners. I never even got my boss fight with him; the last leve in Halo 4 was just begging for that to be a thing...bet it would've been actually good, too. *sigh*
Just imagining the didact ending up in Skyrim being ambushed by bandits. Lol
Just hyping up for the new didact move where he returns for a second time
Read Halo: Escalation then
Supercedes all you know about Earth. Lost in space for sure
Those be the Sangheili down there methinks. Put it on the news human.
WHY DIDNT HE JUST DISINTEGRATE CHIEF LIKE HE DID THAT WALL
Plot armor
the oh shit moment.im not gonna lie when my jaw dropped in this cutscene.
@RandomDude Xolah No. If you watch the Halo 4 Terminals, the Librarian changes roles of the Prometheans to protect Requiem and prevent the Didact from leaving and stopping anyone from coming to his cryptum. Blue means they're under Librarians control
you're right, they are so many plot holes in the Halo universe. I just hope one day we have the answer to all our questions.
That has never once been shown, the closest was forerunner ships brute-forcing themselves through the human defenses around Charum Hakkor as a final push due to precursor barriers.
I love the didact the prometheans and the covenant better than the flood
"The foreigners have returned"
This year marks the 10th anniversary of this game, I still remember when the Master Chief teaser came out waking up in the Dawn being absorbed by the planet
HOW IS THIS GAME ALMOST 10 YEARS OLD???
Ur Didact/Didact
Enki/Enlil
Halo lore and especially halo 4 literally goes hand and hand with the 6000 year old tablets found in Mesopotamia
Research "Anunnaki"
Anyone else think crisis 3 when the camera was hovering over didact before he got up or is that just me
I think there were other survivors, but they were all the ones to travel outside the blast radius of the halos.
The Diadact looks like voldemort!
how is this not a top ten gaming scene? Seriously not kidding
Notice that master chief is the bad guy.
The forerunner showed him mercy. S117 slaughters everything in his wake
Clearly a human vs human problem sir
The underground beneath your 3rd rail.
I'm going to say the Precursors were more aweomse
It's called a Constraint Field. Better than the force, of course.
He look like those depicted in the trailer from Eve Online Emerging Threats
"So fades the Great Harvest of my betrayer!"
Have you read Primordium yet? I'm not going to spoil it for you, but the issue of humanity's cure for the flood is addressed near the end of the novel ;)
God that badass is strong but I don't think he is related to the forerunner or the elites😯😯
Nothing, no game, no movie, no anime, has ever come close to reproducing this level of discourse + storyline. 40k is badass but lacks the discourse, Zod was awesome but lacks the same. This is the peak of humanity’s entertainment so far.
When the door opens without reason..
Me and my brothers : 0:57
(Elites)
Hopefully he will return. I agree there will be more forerunners as this scene really does foreshadow it greatly.
Im not confortable hearing Chief speaking 100 words, usually he talks 5 or 6 words and all the people are cheering for him.
The Didact is for meters tall. XD
Unknown Entity ikr he’s a fuckin giant lol. If chief is 6’10 and 7’2 in full armor u can imagine the size of the Didact lol
@@calummclaughlin7464 average Warrior servants were 13 ft tall
Most Cinematic moments in whole campaign 🔥👌
Height difference still be getting me
All that setup that leads to a QTE what a troll job by 343.
Am I the only one that thinks the covenant have a new class of battlecruiser? The ones in the game seem so much smaller than they did before.
The part when chief could have died
Reading those answers, I think we'll be seeing the Flood back in one of the upcoming games.
The Didact coming out of that sphere is like Jesus Christ coming down from Heaven
The reason the Didactic looks ugly is because he underwent multiple "mutations" in order to find a cure for the Flood. He obviously failed.
@coldshoulder14 dont forget to read Halo Cryptum, since the Didact is also pissed because his children were killed in the war with the humans
True, I just wish a plot twist occurred where the chief had say died, but we think he is still alive but all along Cortana had been copying all the data on the chief and then would of controlled his body through the suit. Like the Phantom, though he man dies, the Master Chief as a symbol can never die.
yes, it's kinda stupid how most people think humans we are familiar with are the same as the Ancient Humans.
The ancient humans were actually, it took the Forerunners years to defeat us even after we were already exhausted fighting the Flood. The prehistoric Humans were perhaps more advance than Forerunners. Like i stated earlier the only reason the Forerunners defeated us was because we were fighting the Flood and the Forerunners simultaneously.
And for only 2 games 4 and 5😤😤😤
the humans actually found a cure for the flood infection while the forerunners did not, that's why the The librarian were so desperate to save humanity. And i believe the humans then was way smarter then the humans NOW.
And people say Halo 4 was terrible.
Who else want to see this scene reanimated in the classic artstyle?
The forerunner's have returned? Look's like our time has come to an end.
Well fuck me. I had a glitch that removed all vocal audio, so it seemed like the guy was talking without making any noise making this whole scene really goddamn weird.
I think one of the coolest things about the Didact is that he’s got six-fingered hands.
perhaps, but if the war only involved Humans and Forerunners than i believe the Humans would have somehow found a solution to the Promethean problem
Halo has a legacy of amazing voices
This was a truly bad ass entrance and speech. They really fucked up not making the Didact the main antagonist of the new trilogy.
That’s debatable
Maybe they could save the new trilogy by making the Didact come back as a Promethean.
@@joshuawillis602 We'll see what happens in Infinite. I just think a more cohesive 3 game villain would have been better than Cortana suddenly going mental.
His armour is sick though.
the forefathers have returned
2:49
Yo the direct is awesome
The forerunners fought with the Flood much later on.
2:53
Me to me when my alarm clock rings.
Mass Effect Universe, Commander Shepard is way better than "Master Chief" and Shepard do have to be turned into a "super soldier" to save shit
0:38 not saying that's the Earth's core but, that's the Earth's core.
That was not a fortress-class forerunner warship.
I love the Didact, I hope he is the main enemy of the new trilogy as previously mentioned
I forgot how badass he was
I bet that Voldemort in Harry Potter is a Forerunner
I read the Forerunner trilogy before I replayed Halo 4 properly for the first time and yeah, they absolutely wasted his character.
Especially since he’s surprisingly relevant to both John’s and Cortana’s characters in this game and there’s a lot you could’ve been with themes via parallels of them and him.
He looks cool ig….
Meh, I don't know about that. The ancient Humans reverse engineered most of their technology from Precursor technology they found. The Forerunners had their own authentic technology, so it would be quite a challenge for the Humans to find a solution. The Forerunners were a much older, more intelligent and wiser species (that's also what makes them more awesome to me :p), so I think they could find another way.
