    I love this Photoshop Beta Generative Fill. Unfortunately the latest version of the Beta tool broke my ability to open images from Lightroom into Photoshop (production or beta). I had to go back a version to restore my Lightroom to Photoshop workflow. The bad beta version is 25.0.

      This is a problem. When you want to transfer an image from Lightroom to the new Photoshop(Beta) you have to right click on the image and select "Edit in Photoshop 2024". When you select this, Photoshop comes up, but the image has not transferred. If you go back to lightroom and wait (~2 min.). You will get a message saying that the image could not be edited because Photoshop 2024 could not be launched. Click "OK" and go to Photoshop and the image will have been loaded. Go figure!

      same for me Stephen. I reverted back to the previous version of the Beta.

      I had the same problem. Adobe support had me revert to 24.7, which resolved the problem. The person said that the problem will be resolved in version 25.1 due to be released soon.

      A late response, but I've had the same issue, but experimented & got around the issue. First open the file in PS - then save as a TIFF back to LR. Now it will open in PS Beta right away.

    Version 25.0 also messed with my ability to open an image from LrC into Photoshop Beta and I also switched back to version 24.7 until this is resolved. Another nice video Dave. Appreciate all your videos Dave as I almost always pick up a useful gem(tip) from them. .....and am patiently awaiting my email from TK so I can upgrade to TK9!!!!! Oh boy oh boy oh boy...😃

    Reading the other comments below I'm glad I waited before trying the beta - I think I will wait for official releases as Adobe causes me enough stress already!

    Thank you Dave . I , like many others , come to it from “edit with “ component of Light Room Classic . There seems to be a major bug whereby now …after choosing ‘edit with’ PS beta opens but hangs for up to 30 seconds . Then an error message in LR but if you ok that message the image does open in Beta . Perhaps you could try it and see if you encounter it and have any suggestions

    Not a fan of generative fill or most of the other AI tools , I use denoise in lightroom and a few of the remove tools in photoshop, it's a great thing if you like to make digital art without all of the hard work. Great video I try and watch all of your vids

    I now use only Beta for all my Photoshop editing mainly to get generative AI. As for the low resolution problem, one video suggests using a series of 1024 by 1024 boxes to get the size of fill area you want. I tried that but it would take 15 to 20 of those little boxes at 300 dpi to complete the fill. Too much trouble. The standard way of just circling everything you want filled works well for small photos online. I haven’t tried to print any photos yet with generative AI in them. I use generative AI without any descriptive wording. That doesn’t work well in my experience.

      I agree, it is not worth the effort, which I pointed out in the video. Hopefully this issue gets resolved when it comes to Photoshop.

    Thank you for your tutorials Dave. I wonder if Topaz Photo AI would fix the resolution in the areas that were created by Generative Fill. What do you think? Have you tried it?

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  Рік тому

      I don't believe it will. You could downsize the image around 1024 px on the long side and then use generative expand. Then send it to Photo Ai for upscaling but it's not a perfect solution.

    I am often getting lines in my generated images around the perimeter of my original image, and the lines go the length of the new crop.
    And I also can’t open Lr images to edit in my regular Ps.

    It doesn’t work for me. I get an error 1200 every time I launch generative expand. Generative fill work but not the new one.

    I have had a CC subscription for as long as it has been a "thing". But I have been afraid to download the latest 2 updates because I am afraid that they will require more than my old computer is able to handle. Is there a minimum RAM necessary to run the current AI tools in the latest CC versions?

    how about increasing the resolution of the generated fill with something like gigapixel ai

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  Рік тому

      It will only work if you shrink the image resolution down to start with (get it around 1024px on the long side). Do generative expand and then upsize with Gigapixel Ai. Not really ideal.
