Lovely Runner Team Enjoys Phuket Vacation as a Gift from TVN
On June 4, Lovely Runner's production company tvN announced that the cast and crew of the Korean show would be traveling to Phuket for a reward vacation. The company stated that the team deserved a break after the show became a runaway success, calling it a gift. While most of the actors and crew members managed to join, lead actor Byeon Woo-Seok had to skip due to his prior work-related commitments and his ongoing Asia fan meet tour 'Summer Letter'. From selfies to group pictures, the cast seemed to have had a lot of fun in Thailand. Kim Hye Yoon, the female lead who played Im Sol, uploaded many pictures enjoying the place. She shared that she enjoyed ramen noodles and poo pad pong curry, adding that the nice weather made the trip even more enjoyable.
Heo Hyung Kyu, renowned for his compelling portrayal of antagonist Young Soo in the drama, delighted his followers with a series of snapshots on June 18, shared via his social media account. These photos captured the relaxed and fun atmosphere with co-stars Kim Hye Yoon and Song Geon Hee.
In one post, he posed with Song Geon Hee against the picturesque beach backdrop, playfully captioning it, "Did you want something like this?" Another photo showed Heo Hyung Kyu and Kim Hye Yoon lounging together in sunglasses, humorously asking, "Are we cool now?" - a playful reference to their characters' complex relationship in the series.
Actress Seo Hye-Won also posted some snapshots from Phuket on her Instagram. She portrayed Lee Hyun-Joo, Im Sol's best friend, in "Lovely Runner." Numerous cute videos and photos of the rest of the cast also surfaced online.
Not only the younger cast members but also veteran actors, such as Sung Byeong Sook, who portrays Im Sol’s grandmother, joined this memorable trip.
"Lovely Runner" is a time-slip rom-com following Sun-Jae and Im Sol from their high school days to their 30s, showing how fate keeps pulling them towards each other within a framework of time travel across 15 years.
It has dominated the top spot in 130 countries during its sixth week on Rakuten Viki, maintaining the number one position in 109 countries, including the United States, for six consecutive weeks. Even after the show’s conclusion, its popularity continues to thrive. Byeon Woo Seok has received over ten times more script offers than before. Co-stars Song Geon Hee and Lee Seung Hyub are also enjoying increased attention and are forging their own paths to stardom.
