Thanks for your advice. I know this is like a year old, but it still helped me. A couple of months before I had been thinking of just staying at my community college for 4 years, but I went back to my original plan of transferring after taking my basics because I want the full experience of going to my dream college.
Thank you so much for this advice and information! I've been looking for community college videos to transfer to ut, but most videos are for Californian students so this is really helpful!
This video is absolute perfect timing! I'm in the process of applying for transfer for next fall. I'm currently at a community college, but I haven't been able to do any extracurricular activities due to the fact I can't drive yet. I actually have a UA-cam and ig blog (although I don't have many followers/subscribers), should include that in my resume? I also have a 4.0 and am applying to the Liberal arts college. Do you think I have a chance?
Yes you'll be fine! Maybe 'join' like one or 2 clubs just to put them on your resume, you don't need to be super involved. The 4.0 is going to def give you a good chance
This was so helpful, thank you! I'm currently a freshman at Arrupe College of Loyola Chicago, and I'm interested in applying to the McCombs school for the fall in 2021. This gave me a lot of insight and reassurance that I have a chance with a 4.0 and involvement in leadership roles!
this is exactly the video i needed right now! i just finished my first semester at utsa and recently told my friends and parents that i wanna try and transfer here. i have a 3.94 (A- in writing ://) and i wanna major in health and society so hopefully i get in! thanks for the vid
hey yall! I remember watching this video when I first got rejected in my senior year of HS. I just got my acceptance into Moody the other day after some time at ACC. My GPA was not special at all but I gave them everything I could and I guess it paid off. Hook em'!
Can you do a video about resumes? I never got into activites at my community college because I worked all throughout my college years to help my mom with bills. But I definitely do plan on it when I transfer. Also, I have a 2.9 right now but I'm taking a winter course so theres a chance I might get a 3.0 if I get a A or B. Even with a barley 3.0 can i still get in?
Hi, I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video. I’m actually studying psychology at Tarrant county college, but I was interested in transferring to UT for the 2022 fall semester. I was so afraid, because I never took my sat/act test in HS, but I did graduate with a 3.8, which was good. I also have a 3.8 gpa at the moment, which would hopefully increase by next year.
Hii, I'm planning on applying to transfer to UT Austin as a Studio Art major, but I just recently decided I wanted to major in art, so I don't really know much about the arts school. Do you know anything about what they look for in a studio art portfolio, or just general information about what they look for in applicants for fine arts? Thank you so much, and I hope you do a resume video, I'm excited for that!
I'm in kind of a pickle. Due to some shitty stuff I got stuck with a 3.4 gpa and I'm trying to get into the RTF program. I have tons of extra circular, voulenter work and field work so I'm hoping that makes up for it
Thankyou! I have a 3.8 GPA and looking into transferring to the school of natural sciences at UT, does that sound like something feasible for the 2021 Fall semester?
Hello! I took 2.5 gap years after high school. Going to be enrolling at a community college in January. University of Texas Austin is one of my top choices. Do you happen to know if UT Austin takes community college transfer students who enrolled at one online? Or they only take students who enrolled at community college on-site?
I never really thought About college when i was sophmore but im stressing over it now cause Ut austin is good college which i want to get into but my gpa is below average because of my sophmore year which was online and it was just overall an awful year for me and my SAT isnt great either Is it better if i go to an austin CC then transfer? Or should i study harder and get a good SAT score cause my gpa wont go up over the next year..
Hi.i am currently offering prerequisites for my associate degree in nursing program at Weatherford college. They currently offer a Bachelor's degree in same college which is typically new. Need an advise if to transition from the ADN program to the bachelor's degree program in same college or apply to the University of Texas. Thanks
hey! i’m starting college in the fall. as a freshmen, i’m already going in with a 2:5 college gpa and 12 credit hours. My question is: what do you think I should do, and when do you think is the best time to transfer?
Hi, I know this video is a little old but I have a couple of questions. I have a 4.0 gpa at my community college. However, in high school I took a Dual credit course and I got a B there. I also have 2 ap scores of a 3 and a 4. Do you think that I can choose not to transfer my college credits from high school? If not, will these grades bring my 4.0 down by any chance? My other question is whether you think I can get in. Other than my gpa, one activity that I have been working on this whole year before the pandemic started was volunteering at a hospital. I was also an Honors student at my community college and presented at Research day. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society. Unfortunately, it all ended because of the virus. Do you think these activities are enough for an acceptance?
Hi! Regarding AP and Dual Credit grades, UT doesn't take those into account with your GPA. So your 4.0 is just fine! For your last question, UT wants to see what you have done in the last 5 years, so don't worry too much if you can't find any community service now. Good Luck!
I'm applying to transfer into UT this fall semester. I have 27 hours now but after this semester I'll have 39. I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering and I'm trying to get into the Cockrell School of Engineering which I know is extremely competitive and difficult lol. I currently have a 4.0 and taking mostly STEM classes because I heard the more STEM classes you take, the better chance you have, slightly better at least. Other than GPA, I'm not too sure on what they are looking for, I have a lot of community service hours and I was in extracurricular activities the last 5 years. I still need to write my essays and finish my resume. Do you think I have a chance? Great video!
You definitely have a chance!! Having a 4.0 and taking STEM is already going to put you ahead of the game. I would keep putting most of your effort into classes, don't worry too much about anything else. Joining a STEM-focused organization to put on your resume may be helpful!
I have a 3.92 gpa at my community college cuz I got one B in calculus and I have no volunteering hours or anything I have just been working for the past year technically I’m in Phi Theta Kappa but I haven’t been to any meetings or anything I wanna apply to the college of natural sci do u think I have a chance?
Hey, there Im Ahsan and will be coming to USA, Houston, TX as an immigrant by Mid 2021. I studied British Education system(Cambridge) in my country. I have completed my O levels which I guess is equivalent to Highschool. Currently Im doing my A Levels. Would it be better for me to attend a Community College for 2 years then transfer to a 4 year University for the last two years? Is transferring process difficult? Should I apply late until Im considered an in-state resident for reduced tutions? Are there any academic requirements to get into community college?
hi ahsan im going thru the same thing and i’m seeing that this is a 2 yr old comment. can i get a update on what u ended up doing hahaha as i’m going thru something v similar at the moment
Man I am so nervous, UT is my dream school. I have just completed my first semester at CC and took some challenging courses for my comp sci track. I finished with 3.8 GPA and am planning to complete another semester before transferring. In addition, I am in the Phi Theta Alpha society, Honor society, have just started my own comp sci club(5 people lol). I also plan on doing an internship and am working on getting those letters of recommendations. Its seems extensive, however in comparison to those who got accepted and even to those who got rejected it looks as though I am not doing enough. I am extremely persistent though, and me and my Japanese friend both grind our asses off everyday doing coding projects and staying active in terms of our academic lives. What would you recommend I do lmao.. What other things do you believe I should take part in to boost my chances?
It sounds like you're in a great position! Don't over work yourself for the sake of a good resume. You can definitely apply confidently with what you have now
@LynetteAdkins I graduated in 2019 from EMCC (an Arizona community college). If I apply for fall of 2024 would I have a chance at getting into any state college in Texas?

Epiphany Scott you have to have a 3.0 for your application to be considered, so just keep working for it!
Yes keep working to get that 3.0, you can do it! I will def make a resume video soon :)

Thankyou! I have a 3.8 GPA and looking into transferring to the school of natural sciences at UT, does that sound like something feasible for the 2021 Fall semester?

Damn I want to do nursing that’s a let down
Im from Mexico, and hoping to get into UT by transfering from ACC, any tips or knowledge that I could use?
Did you have to complete a set of core classes before transferring to UT
Hi.i am currently offering prerequisites for my associate degree in nursing program at Weatherford college. They currently offer a Bachelor's degree in same college which is typically new. My question is: what do you think I should do, and when do you think is the best time to transfer?
Do whatever you can to bring up your GPA ...
you need at least a 3.0 for your application to even be considered so definitely just work on your GPA :)
with a 2.5 gpa there’s no way because you have to have a 3.0 to even get your application looked at
were you in phi theta kappa at community school??

How many credits did you have prior to transferring?
Do you know if I can transfer from a cc in CA to UT. I really dont want to go to school here
Ca ? California? Can I ask why not because I was planning to go there
Question, you said 30 hours are required to transfer, but the UT website says 24 I’m confused 😂
Ah my bad! Def trust the website not me!!
Website says 30 huh
@@changeyourways9792 says 24
I have a 3.92 gpa at my community college cuz I got one B in calculus and I have no volunteering hours or anything I have just been working for the past year technically I’m in Phi Theta Kappa but I haven’t been to any meetings or anything I wanna apply to the college of natural sci do u think I have a chance?
I’m not in any clubs either😭
