This is great, we need to be able to give a loving biblical response to those that are living in any type of sin. This one is very delicate, you put it together very well. Thank you.
I didn’t mean to write an essay lol but maybe it’ll help most of you to maybe think more about what’s being preached. My response as a gay christian in 2023: The first question assumed you’re either christian or homosexual, not both, which is completely unbiblical. it’s interesting how Christians don’t see their own misstep.. if homosexuality is sin and you can’t be homosexual and christian, then by that logic, you can’t be a sinner and christian… which is literally counterintuitive. If you want to make a distinction between gay thoughts and gay action, let’s first establish if gay thoughts are a sin, since sinful actions ALWAYS stem from sinful thoughts. Most Christians in 2023 believe gay thoughts are not sinful.. therefore the fruit of sin cannot be produced. Every single gay person can tell you they did not choose this brain pattern.. and though research is still minimal, studies are showing biological factors are present, including environmental factors in and outside of the womb. Also see below.. Regarding the “self-evidence” of the natural function of bodies. I would also like to include intersex people, who may not even discover their “true” sex (if there is one at all) until puberty, adulthood.. or even never discovered. chromosomal sex and genitalia can differ. Someone having XY chromosomes (boy) and only a vagina having attractions to other girls naturally, might be ostracized because they think (and the doctors and parents and society) thinks having a vagina means you’re a girl, therefore you’re “lesbian” being a girl attracted to girls. Additionally, non-procreative sex is not considered sin in married heterosexual couples, so with that understanding, the fact of “not being able to procreate” can’t be used against homosexuals. Referencing the “consequences” of a gay lifestyle having high rates of depression, STDs, drug use: I am 1000% convinced it’s more a consequence of being mistreated and ostracized from the church than simply attraction being sinful. We are a minority. Native Americans and black Americans have their own statistics of poverty, drug use and disease higher than other populations for being, well… a minority as well. Also, in modern times, we are a sexually perverse nation overall… with more pornography available, higher divorce rates, fathers not being in the picture committing adultery on their own.. ALL of which are major issues in heterosexual couples. That doesn’t mean heterosexuality is a sin. The last few comments in the video I’ve already addressed, except that I think more people need to see the “evidence” ambiguously mentioned that people actually “change” their sexuality. When that is presented, we can see how successful it really is. Attempting to change your sexuality through passionate prayers to God, conversion therapy, other treatments and psychology show that this ISN’T possible in almost all instances. Imagine telling a heterosexual person they can change their attractions. You can’t. Lastly, for people that comment that we are “born into sin”.. the biblical truth is we are born into sinful NATURE, but we are not committing sin by just birth. Sin is ALWAYS a CHOICE that stems from temptation. We all struggle with that. Lust is sin and universal to all of us. Attraction is finding someone beautiful and wanting to get to know them.. that is also universal and that is not sin. There’s the difference. Even the Christian world can’t come to an agreement if same-sex attraction itself is sinful because 1. opposite-sex attraction is not sinful 2. it isn’t a choice and 3. you are BORN that way. Other points: Generational curses are not biblical. The Babylonian Talmud and Midrash, which is an extension of Jewish commentaries and additional practices on the first five books of the bible (the law) dating back to biblical times recognizes intersexuality and shows the human condition of categorizing what we can’t understand into binary male and female systems. I’m surprised I had to refute human bias and not expand on any Scripture, since none was referenced. Ask me about biblical scripture and I will write another essay lol.
One may be able to change their behavior, but they cannot change their fundamental sexual orientation. I have known gay men who were married with children who could only function sexually with their wives by thinking of the male anatomy. They are still gay. Similarly, men in prison who can only function sexually with men by thinking of the female anatomy are still heterosexual.
Sexual desire is a sin itself. No matter who you lust after, have sex with, or think about during, before, or after. Sex should only be intended for marriage between a man & a woman.
What an incredibly reductive way of looking at homosexuality or just human beings in general. You're practically telling them they're not using their genitals appropriately in the eyes of God? How perverted and myopic does your spiritual view have to be that you can single out a group of people based on what they do sexually? Not based on how they help their community or the less fortunate? Not on how most of us are trying to just survive and somehow be better people then we were yesterday? My question to fellow Christians is do people have sex in heaven? And if you don't believe they do. Then are we merely just judging people on matters of the flesh and not the trully spiritual or of the heart. I believe God is much greater and kinder and more discerning than that. God bless you all!
I hear you! There is no genitalia in heaven and scripture says in Galatians 3:28 “there isn’t Jew nor Greek, slave not free, male nor female for we are all one in Christ Jesus” The new testament is about the heart and faith in Jesus, not the ceremonial or moral practices under the law or old testament. They clearly are not educated on intersex individuals as well. They’re still a representative of Christ, despite being an anomaly.
We certainly aren't designed for eating meat either but that doesn't even begin to stop us. Just look at our bodies and teeth. We couldn't chase a rabbit to catch it to save our lives let alone tear at raw flesh with those flat incisors and molars.
We are obviously designed for eating meat. We are designed with a complex brain and thumbs so we are capable of making traps and capturing game such as rabbits. And our digestive system is clearly meant for meat
No you cant. Lgbtq+ have an entire month called Pride month & they celebrate their sexuality & parade of it. Even thou we are called to be humble & not boastful of anything that we do or of ourselves. You can say well they are celebrating years of oppression, but Christians do not have an entire month dedicated to their pride. Romans 1 also tells us that women gave up their natural intention of sex between a man & a woman, for one another of the same sex. Men also did the same & their acts were called shameful. In the beginning GOD created sex for the intention of marriage between a man & a woman. Not out of marriage & definitely not for the same sex.
You can certainly be gay and Christian, just as you can be straight and Christian, but you can’t be LGBT and Christian - or LGBT and anything else. That’s because there is no such thing as being LGBT (or any extension thereof). That ridiculous initialism, which has been foisted onto the public by sheer, strident repetition, doesn’t denote any genuine category. It’s been fabricated to con people into thinking that if you’re gay, lesbian or bisexual, then you’re obliged to support the crackpot demands of “gender identity” theorists. No such obligation exists.
@@JosePena-oe3be Sexual reproduction evolved about 2 billion years ago and was not created by god. We are its descendants, as we were from the first living being. Yes you can become straight without having a belief in Jesus. But though you can go on living a full life as a straight person, this life is still temporary , yet eternity is forever! Plus... not one of us is promised we will have a tomorrow!? We could die today!? God wants us to spend eternity in heaven with Him, yet that choice is left up to each individual to choose. He desires us to come to Him because we want to, not HAVE to.--- We are created in His image so it makes sense that we have some of Gods characteristics automatically built in. We want our spouses to marry us because they want to and not have to... and nobody has to tell a three year old who gets hit by another toddler... how to go tattle to mommy, do we? This is because we also have that desire for "justice " built into us! You don't have to believe in Jesus... but God is forced to judge you based on that decision.... YOU choose! In Jesus however, once you accept His blood atonement and put your faith in Him, your sins are forever forgiven. And the Holy Spirit becomes "one flesh" with your soul. At that point it doesn't matter when you die because you immediately go to heaven! Your new life in Him can be so much more fulfilling... if you choose to grow spiritually by reading the Bible, praying... or talking to God just as you would your best friend. You don't have to, but I have sure discovered in my own life that my life is easier in doing that.
What do we say? I say I have no problem that you are gay... I accept you just as you are.
"You were not designed for this" Excellent!
