background talking at 0:34 "bought a picture of an ape on the internet. was told it would be worth at least a million. sold it for 24 bucks. 24 bucks! but hey at least I don't have monkeypox"
Thanks to the power of audacity and some patience here's those cool muffled lines deciphered to the best of my ability "i opened my car door this morning, my keys fell into a sewer, And so what I was stuck for about an hour, atleast i'm not in a ditch" (or he's stuck in a hitch can't hear this last one well) "Bought a picture of an ape on the internet, I was told it would be worth at least a million, sold it for 24 bucks, 24 bucks! but hey, atleast i don't have monkeypox" "(unintelligible). i was gonna go until I got sick, (huge unintelligible part i don't have a single clue) but there's kids starving in Africa, you know i never really thought about it, of course someone's got it worsе, no I don't really hear about it (more garbled unintelligible words)"
Thanks to the power of my ears, I can confirm it's ditch. Also, it's "It was good going until I got sick." (Lyric sites don't know about that one.) That's everything I know for certain, but that first bit in interlude 3 sounds something like: "Yeah, that's what I thought." Little to no confidence in that though. I'd have to spend more time than I would wish to and maybe get a headache in the process to really strain my ears and discern anything else, but maybe we can ask Vin for what the raw file says next time he does a meme QnA bit.
i think he says “i dont really care about it” instead of “i dont really hear about it”, maybe saying hes not upset with his unfortunate situations because people have it worse? idk
Now that Afterthoughts is finally out and is full of bangers from start to finish, I'm excited to listen to the other B-sides. This one was amazing and the unintelligible vocals really adds to its uniqueness. I can't imagine which of the other songs is going to have a B-side and I don't know what to expect, but I'm sure that they will be certain bangers, it's very impressive the progress this band consistently achieves.
Admittedly, I wasn't too hooked by Jumped The Gun. But THIS? Wheeeew this is gonna be a song I replay over and over (already have). The other single is pretty good too. Afterthoughts looking a lot stronger and I'm excited
Jumped the Gun is the flip side of Winning the Most. Almost a Stranger is the flip side of Middle of the Street. And this is the flip side of There's a Place
@@MustafaTurgutDenizer Listen to the melodies, how they're pretty much the reverse of each other. Listen to how the melody here is pretty much There's A Place with the keys reversed, same with the others
THANK YOU FOR THIS DUDES. i woke up at 3am accidently and saw the announcement for the song on the discord server, can't express how happy my half-awake ass was. also props to whoever did the cover, it's really neat! :)
Already listened way too many times but hey, now it's here too I might as well put it on repeat again Great work on this one, that beat is really damn good
considering this is a B-Side to Almost a Stranger (and considering the general symbolism behind that song), this almost feels like he's finally moved on, he's finally feeling like himself again. but such a drastic and dramatic event doesn't go away easily, and as a result comments, media, DMs bring it up again and again with new developments and discussions. but he's finally feeling confident enough about the situation to both ignore and feel annoyed that the already resolved past keeps getting dug up for attention. the event no longer has a grip on him and he's now free emotionally but he can never fully escape what happened. to which i say, good for him that he's mostly feeling better. also banger B-Side Red Vox it's so tasty
People said mean things about him on the internet and he went on a months-long boohoo session. You'd think he'd get the idea by now, having been on the internet for 2 decades... Sometimes, people lie on the internet. And it was clearly mostly BS, everyone knew that, so I really don't know what his deal is. The accusations weren't really even that bad. He wasn't accused of a crime or anything. His reaction alone makes me consider the validity of the stuff.
@@DirtyDoctorDan Well, keep in mind it wasn't just mean words from strangers; people who actively supported and even Worked with him suddenly turned on him. Friends, mods, artists, etc. plus a large portion of the internet turned their heads to the drama, and rumours can spread far and wide. I'd rather not bring the situation back up again in full detail (hypocritical of me, i know lol) but whether or not the document was correct is up to you; but his personal life was brought up for the entire world to stare at and considering how private he tends to be, that Has to have hurt. Being stabbed in the back Has to have hurt. For that, oof man. Oof.
also this is just speculation, do not take this as Word of God, in the end the most important thing about this is this song slaps so hard my god i can't wait for Afterthoughts
@@DirtyDoctorDan yes, how dare he feel bad about a shitty situation he was in. he is supposed to always react perfectly in line to the way i would, which of course would be to just laugh everything off because i am inmune to any sort of feelings. this makes perfect logical sense, for everyone feels pain and emotions in exactly the same way i do. im completely qualified to make this judgement for i understand all about the situation he was in and there's definitely nothing i don't know about it or how people in his life reacted to it. whenever i see someone being sad, i can't help but laugh. what a pathetic person, incapable of acting in the proper way. proper according to me, that is.
A storm has just slammed down on my small town, and RV drops a new one in my feed. This sounds like the perfect, "getting over the rain and moving on" song.
I think that they might be able to play this one live! I hope so, honestly. Even if I can't go since I live quite a long bit away from New York, it'd be cool for them to play the song live.
Don't mind me while I screenwrite a music video in the comments. As the song begins, Our protagonist is sitting on a couch in his apartment. He approaches the front door and as he hears a knock, and sees himself. The perspective shifts to himself, looking inside the apartment but now it's empty, and looks as if nobody has lived there for years. The muffled words in the background of the song come from a blurry version of himself doing menial tasks around the room as our protagonist wanders the abandoned apartment. The blurry version of our protagonist seems to be speaking to somebody, and perhaps they are fighting? Before the other blurry person leaves and the protagonist and the blurred version meld into one, roll credits
Lyrics [Unintelligible garble] Never thought about it until it all came down Never really thought about it until just now. Me? What now? Drown it out [Unintelligible garble] Me? What now? Gee, do tell. Live through hell Me, oh well. x3
This is hard to pick over "Almost a Stranger", which isnt fair to say because they're completely different tones. AAS sounds melodic and pensive while MOW is heavy on guitar, you can hear the passion behind the strumming of both and they're both great songs in their own way for their respective crowd. I love the message of both, Almost a Stranger being about recovering and self-healing, recognizing the lack of identity one has and the journey to getting it back, while Me, Oh Well is about people critiquing who one is regardless of what has been done either to improve or damage how people see them
The beginning sounds more like Reno from Another Light. My tiny brain did not realize you meant the whole "Never really thought about it" lyrics. Nah you aren't the only one.
