As for Bird well he was a big fish in a small pond that was literally thrown into the ocean filled with apex predators. In other words he's been forced to punch way above his weight like class, it's like if a highschool boxer suddenly has to fight against a bunch of professional boxers.

@ Beyblade X is set in a battle tower format, meaning that once you win you'll immediately have to face stronger individuals instead of still going against people your level. Making Bird lose all the time is a way to not mess up the powerscaling, and also to make him stay as one of the main character for a longer time. Bird has always been praised by people who actually watched the show, his character is a lesson that winning isn't exactly anything, that's why the time he actually starts to enjoy beyblade regardless of the result, is when we start to see him securing points. heck, the only reason Beyblade X is watched is because of the strong character writing which has been praised as well, if it weren't for the character writing, X would've had low ratings. Ekusu isn't a boring or bland mc, he's just a simply written mc whose main point is just for people to enjoy and have fun watching him, which is the same reason people enjoy Goku and Luffy.
