there are too many ways to do that, in my case, my teacher teach us in another but similar way, something a bit more sofisticated and automatic, so, the way you build a figure in MATLAB depende in most cases of your imagination and the basic knowledge of geometry and how works every MATLAB tool

you should build a figure from trigonometric functions, apply some function or matrix transformations to get the desired shape, and then build the patch over those geometries
