Stanford Workshop on Hallaj Poetry by Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi al-Karkari (Part 5)

On December 12th, Shaykh Sidi Mohamed Faouzi al-Karkari led a workshop at Stanford University that brought together scholars and practitioners of Sufism and mysticism. He focused on the life and work of the 10th-century Muslim Sufi, Hussayn Ibn Mansur al-Hallaj (d. 922 CE). In particular, Shaykh al-Karkari offered a detailed exploration of al-Hallaj’s renowned poem “I Saw My Lord with the Eye of My Heart,” providing his own analysis and engaging with audience questions on its deeper spiritual dimensions.
