I like two guys. I know that sounds horrible. One of them is the most respectful gentleman. He’s a pure sweetheart. We just met and yet I was entranced by him at first fight. Literally. The moment I saw him, I knew I needed to know who he was. He’s one of the purest people I know. He loves my mom and my brothers and talks to me even though he’s so shy. His only flaw is his age. I was playing on the playground when this guy comes up behind me and starts shaking one of my braids and saying “bzzz” and running away. I laughed and chased him. We became friends that day. We played. I had a crush on him by the next year. A bit crush. We talked almost every day. I revolved around him to be honest. In fourth grade, I still couldn’t get him off my mind. He was like a drug. No matter when or where, he came back to me. In fifth grade, I got a best friend. It was a guy. He started to liek me and that was a problem because he was my crush’s friend and he didn’t wanna break bro code. But we basically both knew we liked each other by then. At the end of the year, I got his number from our friend. We talked as friends for a few weeks. One day we got in the topic of people at school and crushes. I asked him all of a sudden if he had a crush. He said yes. I responded with a me too. It was awkward. I simply asked if he knew who I liked. He said yes. That he’d known for a while now. That he wanted to wait until we were 16. Be devoted and have to not sneak around and delete messages and everting. He swore we would wait. But he let me know, I was the only girl on his mind. Months went on. We said I love you. I know, I know. We were only going into sixth grade. It’s crazy! We were kids! But he got so busy all the time. All the time. I went online schooled because of covid. One day, a guy prank texts me. I find out his name and he’s in my grade. He just moved to the town this year. We text and facetime. He quickly became my best friend. But I think with my “boyfriend?” idk whatever we were, we grew so distant. We ended things and I chased the new guy. He broke my heart but oh well. We are still friends and thank God. Way better that way. Fast forward to eighth grade. Two years after him and I split. He got a girlfriend. Not any girl. My ex best friend. The player. I didn’t know why it hurt me so bad to see them. I’d moved on. Despite the universe trying to get us together, it just didn’t work. I was fine with that. Right…? But I wasn’t. It drove me crazy. I realized I honestly and truly never got over him. That guy who loved to play with my hair for years and my whole family liked and we would have that type of screaming and fighting and yet so in love type of dynamic. Honestly?
