One of the things people on right are fed up with is that especially during climate crisis (I know most of them don’t acknowledge it but bear with me), inflation, and such, we need to acknowledge that not everyone in the planet can come live in the EU and USA. There has to be a limit, but corporations billionaires are now in charge of everything, NOT the govt. and they want cheap labour. It’s cheaper for them to now bring workers over here rather than shop products back here from 3rd w countries. Refugees according to world laws are supposed to be given consideration for status at their FIRST country they enter that’s relatively safe, but they don’t. They want to come to where KimK lives and the USA is not really a safe haven anymore anyway. Diversity is the greatest beauty of humanity, so people need to build and preserve their own cultures in their own countries. Corporations have brainwashed us lefties into thinking it’s moralistic for open borders but they just want labourers. That’s it! They’ve hoodwinked people. The climate crisis, coming water shortages, inflation and droughts are going to even more show that govt’s SHOULD have been taking care of THEIR OWN populous, NOT this behaviour and don’t even get me started on spending in combats. It’s quiet easy to find out that the currentvpolicies of e.g. the social democrats parties was that held by the liberals (considered centrist right wing in Europe) 20 years ago, and the liberals now hold ideas of the moderate right wing, and the conservative right wing has turned even more devotedly to the right and are often accepting political support with parties that always have been considered the far right. Neither has the far right and even the extreme far right ever have had such political influence.
And at the same time there’s hardly any one of the communists and the extreme socialists (that had the support of a substantial part of the European voters in western Europe before the fall of communism p) remaining. Even a communist nation like China has adopted rightwing economical policies in their attempt to trade on a capitalist world stage.
So just stop the nonsense. Or provide us with the numbers of far left policies that has increased and that makes the world more far left than earlier. Likely you weren’t born before the end of communism and just don’t understand much.

And where the jobs in the energy sector goes to low wage foreign labour in Persia and Arabia. For Americans to feel emboldened by what just happened here in the EU elections would require that they [Americans] actually know where Europe is.
Most of them likely think that world news is something that happened in Iowa. I seriously doubt they have any clue about which countries are in the European Union, which contribute the largest number of votes, and why this matters in Brussels. that would also require them to know where Brussels is and why it is significant.

No, it isn’t some averaging and the “center” is where the average voter stands. Left wing, right wing, and so on is based on policies and the political agenda. Like in 1920s Italy when an overwhelming amount voted for the fascists, fascism didn’t become the “moderate centrist” political party. It was still an extreme far rightwing ideology. And will always be. Neither was communism ever a centrists moderate ideology when it got a very large amount of votes back in what became the USSR… it was still an extreme far leftwing ideology. Although far leftwing has never ever been a thing in the US, and in Europe it really ceased to be one when communism collapsed. Although a substantial part of former communists have turned to far rightwing ideas, because they the now see the opportunities for corruption in this movement.
