It's better to have a heart with no words than words with no heart. I love that because a lot of the times I feel such emotion about something but I don't know how or what to pray. I just have faith God knows and intercedes for me.

Julie, this made me emotional because sometimes I don’t feel so spiritual because of my lack of prayer.. not all the time but sometimes. This was very profound, just what i needed to hear ❤

I have to tell the story of my Dad. He was abusive alcoholic all his life. I got saved at 35 and started praying for my Mom and Dad both. My Mom came to watch our children while I had surgery. Our church was having revival services and Mom went with my husband and kids. She called me when she got home and told me she got saved. My Dad was a different matter. I started praying that what ever it took for Him to get saved. All the ladies in my bible study said, Betty you better not pray that way but I kept doing it. My Dad had a stroke that rendered him a child so we put him in a nursing home. Everytime we went to see him these thoughts kept running through my mind, bring him home with you, and the scripture about honoring Mom and Dad kept slipping into my mind and I would shove it out. One day I told my husband what I was thinking and guess what, he had been thinking it too. We turned a room into a hospital room in our house and everyday I would think, you ask for this when you prayed, whatever it takes God, save my dad. Honestly I could have left him at the nursing home and never went to see him, thats what Betty could do, but God said, this is your whatever. I am trying to keep this short so I will not tell things from those four years of taking care of him but I can tell you for sure it was from God. Dad continue to get worst and I finally had to put him back in hospital because the cancer ate into his throat and he could not eat. I finally knew it was time to put him back into a nursing home. We went up to the VA hospital after he had been there a week We took our kids with us and took turn going up to see him and my husband went first. After a hour I could see him heading our way down the hallway and I could tell he was smiling in a big way and his face was shining. As soon as he got to us he started talking and said, you are not going to believe what happened, YOUR DAD GOT SAVED TONIGHT. He said ,his mind was clear as if he had never had a stroke and he knew who my husband was. This was big because mostly he thought I was his mother. My husband said, he is doing great, I think we will be able to take him back to live with us. The next morning our phone rang and it was the doctor who said my Dad had died that morning. Just like the thief on the cross. I thought about Roman 5:1-5, how God honors His Word. Was it hard..yes, yes, yes, four hard years of taking care of him. Did he deserve it., no, not by earthly standards. The lesson it taught me is worth all the earth wealth, God will love through you if you will just obey Him and pray. Several years later we went to the mission field, another hard place but that lesson went with me and is as fresh today as it was then.

My husband and I prayed for 12 years for our prodigal son to come back to The Lord. We prayed 11 years for another child. Our son is now a missionary and our daughter is 17 and a junior in homeschool high school. God is faithful to those who never give up praying. His timing!!! Keep praying!! 🙏🏻

    This was beautiful.
I often remind myself that God sees everything and hears everything, ALL the time:
Hebrews 4:13 - Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
    God bless you all!!

@@holidayrap thanks for your insight. Going through the biggest challenge of my life ( so far) and I seem to not want to pray, it’s like I can’t- and I think what’s the point? He knows what’s going on, and yet you are right, He wants us to tell Him when we are most hurt.

@@canadasweetie Stay strong. I know many times thats easier said that done. But with God it can be done. I won't say "I know how you feel" because I don't. Trials are as unique as finger prints. But He/the Lord can and will carry you through.

We don't pray because we fear God instead of trusting Him. When we promote an angry god that punishes, that promotes such a god. The prodigal son, who we all are, left God behind to make up his own world of guilt, flesh, sin, and fear. When we no longer blame God or our brothers for our errors, we return to His inheritance in a gradual learning process of letting go of our false ideas and replacing them with His, through prayer. That change is metanoia, forgiveness/ repentance. The work we do here is that. My father works and I work. We cannot do it alone because alone we made up the false ideas.

Do you know when our son passed away Wife was angry upset and wonder God why do you take my older son and I told her God has a reason for it he had problems and if he came back because he was living with his dad he lived with us for a long time then he moved up there with his dad he died up there in Kentucky he was going to come home but I believe he’s been in a worse shape if he did come back home I said that I do believe that God knew that he would lose him if he came back home but things that was going on in his life he was raised in church when he was 10 I told her that God has a reason for everything I said that you know when Jesus was dying on the cross God couldn’t save his son but he did it to save us God made had a reason what he done to her son I told her maybe God needed another angel because if he came up here he would probably lost him because he got in back in trouble again bad trouble then he could’ve died a worse death or went to prison for life but God had a reason we don’t know those reasons but it’s OK but God is with us and God will protect us always remember God is always in control of our lives it helps him each year of the year that he died Wife has a hard time because she misses him so much which I don’t blame her it’s always gonna be in her heart but I tell her we strive we praise God someday will see him again
