You should consider doing a top ten list of controversial mods for video games. One mod per game such as wicked whims for the sims 4, brutal doom for doom, hot coffee for GTA San Andreas, etc.
The Night Trap controversy is hilarious considering none of those rallying against it had even played it and the fact you are protecting the girls, not trying to kill them. I wouldn't say it was a plain bad game, being more along the lines of a "so bad its good" kind of thing. It just had a pretty big re-release on PC and consoles after all, so the demand was there.
Mortal Kombat should be #1 for sure. MK is the reason we have rated games these days. Manhunter is #2, DOOM is #3 and only then comes GTA. I'd add Hatred to this list
I'm surprised that "Phantasmagoria" from Sierra On-Line back in 1995 didn't at least get a honorable mention on this list. When this game was released which is a FMV horror story it was highly controversial and critized not only because of it's content of gore and violent scenes, but the rape scene at the beginning of chapter four made people go bananas. Loved this game so much because it's a pretty good horror story, and yet I haven't become either a murderer or a rapist according to what the critics and reviews wants you to believe.
Back in 2002, I was 15. The manager at GameStop was trying SO hard to sell me on State Of Emergency, & how great it is! So I bought it, & I regret it to this day...
When I saw a playthrough of Night Trap for the first time, I was 10 and had never heard of the controversy surrounding it. I thought it was a cool game because you got to fight a bunch of bad guys in a really cool house. Then, when I heard about the controversy two years later, I was really confused. I thought it was a great game. I mean, I'm a woman and I liked it.
For me, watching the media talk themselves into knots because of some of these games was often just as entertaining as the actual games themselves. Every time Rockstar would release a new title, I'd go to my mate's place (because she had international TV) chuck on some American news and grab a big bowl of popcorn. Ahh, memories.
You are mistaken. The game Death Race had nothing to do with the movie. Originally called Destruction Derby, they lost the ability to use the game in its original form in 1975 when the company they sold exclusive manufacturing rights to went under. They reworked the game, added "gremlins", and renamed it in 1976. There is no tie-in to the movie that came out in 1975.
* Hatred (Controversial because it promotes violence against innocent bystanders. Accused of neo-Nazism and anti-islamism.) * Postal series (Controversial because it promotes violence and anarchy.) * Punch-Out!! series (Controversial because the opponent boxers are regarded as racial stereotypes.) * Fighter's History (Controversial because it involved a lawsuit between Capcom and Data East, considering that Fighter's History is a rip-off of Street Fighter II. The latter of which have won the lawsuit.) * Splatterhouse series (Controversial because of the graphic violence and questionable enemies.) * Wolfenstein 3D (Controversial because of the violence and Nazi imagery) * Thrill Kill (Controversial because of the over-the-top violence, Satanic imagery, and sexual content. It was so controversial that it got cancelled, mainly because Electronic Arts acquired Virgin Interactive, the publishers of Thrill Kill.)
At 8:21 it is labeled GTA 2 but that’s GTA 3 being shown. Gta2 was a 2d game from a sky view. The character shown is Claude and he’s the character you play as in GTA3.
Modern Warfare should've made an appearance at least in the honourable mentions for MW2, plus we all know how the government and media acted when it came to MW
Night trap is funny because it was so appalling it helped create the esrb rating board. yet they just re-released it, and how was it rated? T for teen =P
All of the people whining about violent video games were pro war. Which means they let their kids watch Vietnam on live broadcasting. They are the biggest hypocrites on thw planet.
And during that time violent movies also came out with more nudity but it's video games that got into controversies, because the film industries are behind it trying to stop video games same thing happened to comics in 1950s.
State of Emergency was so good. I loved Manhunt too. I miss that era of games. No One Lives Forever, Red Faction, GTA Vice City, Bully, Stuntman, etc just a good time for gaming.
I've heard of the Leisure suit Larry series. I don't have the games and for good reason because you die every time you make a mistake, especially in the sequel.
The Grand Theft Auto series is the immediate Definition of Video Game Controversy, about every gamer should know that
Doom can also be placed on the same level

And MK
What about postal

How many times are they going to do this SAME topic just worded different..
I was just thinking this is the same shit.....
They did this bare times already
I was about to comment the same old shit.
Yet.. you're still subscribed.. going on each video.
As many times as their audience wants it.

"Thanks for watching!"
Kinda, still watching it though lol

Yo if you don't like it then make a channel with diverse lists yourself yo!
I love that GTA refuses to be politically correct, especially in this whiny snowflake era.
I would argue that GTA 5 is politically correct.
Hehehe, yes they even respond a girl that complained about GTA IV being "racist" against slavs.
If anything, GTA is purposely politically INcorrect just to piss people off.
Every era has been the whiny snowflake era, and people who refer to people as snowflakes tend to complain more than anyone else.
JUJU YIP one of the most edgy kid comments ever
Lol, Brazil banning a game because it has adult themes... They clearly have no self awareness

One of the politicians was asked if he had played the game, to which he replied, "I don't have to."
No Russian is far more controversial than most of those!
True
So no battlefront 2? It’s been considered gambling; not even an honorable mention ;-;
Harrison Kim That's less of a controversy than it is a PR disaster.
Harrison Kim Battlefront 2 didn’t meet the criteria they set at the beginning of the video
Harrison Kim that's more of a pr disater then a real controversy.
Killing in a war game is normal while killing for fun is not.
Double standard.
I like you😌
Didn’t they make a video like this already?
Mortal Kombat should be #1 for sure. MK is the reason we have rated games these days. Manhunter is #2, DOOM is #3 and only then comes GTA. I'd add Hatred to this list

8:20 is GTA3 not GTA2. Wow, not only is Mojo running out of ideas, but they're stupid as well.
Maser209 omg one mistake how dare they
Randy Vargas They make mistakes like this constantly, it's just stupid that they aren't capable of even doing their research.
I noticed that and it bugged me as well...
Glad I wasn’t the only one!
Gta2 was the first game I played on the ps1... good memories of that game!
Maser209 how is this relevant? One small mistake...
Back in 2002, I was 15. The manager at GameStop was trying SO hard to sell me on State Of Emergency, & how great it is! So I bought it, & I regret it to this day...
Idgaf what nobody says. You guys are running out of ideas. You've done the same list about 3 times.
Lmao I almost forgot about custers revenge... That was one weird fucking game

8:19 "Grand Theft Auto 2" Two? I think you mean 3.
Death Race is like if Grand Theft Auto been around for that long.
Doctor Awesomeness And had been based off a movie. If I'm not mistaken, Death Race was a tie-in game.

The original Carmaggedon
I honestly would’ve thought that postal (1997) would have influenced the columbine massacre

Um, Hatred?
Modern Warfare should've made an appearance at least in the honourable mentions for MW2, plus we all know how the government and media acted when it came to MW
I love playing Postal…
You mislabeled GTA 3 @ 8:20.
You showed gameplay of grand theft auto III but it said in the bottom left it was Grand Theft Auto II???
I can't believe Night Trap was more controversial than Custer's Revenge. That's just stupid.
Next: Top 10 insanely controversial WatchMojo videos
08:19 Grand Theft Auto 2 is written instead of 3
no mention of Modern Warfare 2? really?
Columbine killer Eric Harris was actually way into Doom. Making his own levels in the game, they was just crazy about anything with guns and death
I wasn't 13 when my sister came back from England and smuggled Manhunt into NZ for me.
number 1. manhunt 2
im calling it
I like how Brazil bans a game for adult themes when that was where 2 girls 1 cup and swap.avi came from.
The same Brazil where a person could get arrested for having a copy of Bully.
Why was Bully controversial?
Luca Dynamo
1. The title
2. There were gay characters
That’s basically it. It got banned in a bunch of countries
School Yard violence offended some pansies as well.
Night trap is funny because it was so appalling it helped create the esrb rating board. yet they just re-released it, and how was it rated?
T for teen =P
The more controversial game is, the more successful the game is, however too much controversy might kill it
joseph yakoub Is that a paradox?
like Hatred (even though it's not a bad game)
Manhunt 2 had to be toned down severely because the consoles' companies did not want an AO game on their systems.
Namely Sony and Nintendo.
I'm pretty sure Watch Mojo already made a top 10 of controversial video games. They're totally running out of ideas.
Where's Carmageddon in that list?
WatchMojo can censor stuff in their videos, yet meanwhile they didn't censor the naughty parts in _Custer's Revenge._
I see Trevor Philips, I click
State of Emergency was fun as hell
We need remake
How do you guys have 15 million?
Because some people actually like some of the lists they make?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Am I a joke to you?
The graphic scenes in GTA5 is not present in the other versions of this game in many countries such as japan!
All of the people whining about violent video games were pro war. Which means they let their kids watch Vietnam on live broadcasting. They are the biggest hypocrites on thw planet.
Custards Revenge deserved the controversy.
Guess you guys never heard of RapeLay...
Nice work using "notorious" correctly. This generally great channel has a spotty track record on that one.
8:19 wtf that’s GTA 3 not GTA 2?
even my dog knows GTA is #1
YXIIU Maxim said that the 2005 Punisher game “made GTA look like Mario Kart”
Gta series is not violent as manhunt

I figured that the South Park games would be on here but then again it’s South Park
Where is hatred?
I swear rockstar is a household for controversial games that are amazing.

Wow & Thank You Rockstars
Referring to something as "controversial" in 2017, is a good indicator that it's not controversial
8:18,Thats not Gta 2 its Gta 3
Goes to prove : people get offended about everything
Haven't they done this video like 3 times
And during that time violent movies also came out with more nudity but it's video games that got into controversies,

top 10 most controversial video games
1, literally anything Rockstar games has ever made, ever
8:20 WRONG ONE
(Its Gta 3 not 2)
Rockstar practically made the list
Postal 2 was the most fun game I've ever played.
Manhunt makes me throw up tbh
State of Emergency was so good. I loved Manhunt too. I miss that era of games. No One Lives Forever, Red Faction, GTA Vice City, Bully, Stuntman, etc just a good time for gaming.
I want politicians and news people to play video games not bash them
Did you forget the most recent controversy of GTA V players being banned for modding the game and people are not happy about it
I still love the new Battlefront 2, but I’m surprised that it isn’t here

Leisure Larry was hilarious
I'm surprised games like RapeLay, Carmageddon, Phantasmagoria and Call of Duty weren't on this list. Tons of controversy there
I was really expecting cod's no Russian scene to be on this list, but I can see why it wasnt
What about Gone Home, Depression Quest, Firewatch, and Ladykiller in a Bind? ;)
Hey, Doom is not controversial bullshit,
it is pure art. That's why it's popular.
Agreed
Who else knew that GTA was going to be here.
Like if you agree.
I really hope N.A.R.C. is in this list.
Where is Carmagedon?
C'mon WatchMojo, I expected "RapeLay" by Illusion to be on this list and the "Banned Games" list as well.
i cant imagine 50 years later video games

Rocky Solid After seeing some of the offensive content on Encyclopedia Dramatica, I can't say these games are at all a test for a strong stomache.
Hatred? That was crazy
state of emergency was one of my childhood games
Carmageddon should at least be an honorable mention.
Top 10 Superjail Moments?
I've heard of the Leisure suit Larry series. I don't have the games and for good reason because you die every time you make a mistake, especially in the sequel.
New videos everyday are pointless if it ends up being the same games everytime in practically the same top 10s with slightly different titles.
NewKidRamZ exactly
Grand theft auto 3 footage playing.
