    I really wonder what happened in Game 1?
    SPOILER
    Why was Inno even with Maru when the big fights started after losing so many SCVs in the early game? Did Maru invest in anything that didn't pay out or did he just to many mistakes that piled up?
    The only thing I realized was that Maru had a ton of infrastructure to rebuild quickly but I wasn't able to see if Inno had a similar amount of Barracks/Factories/Starports.

      e.g. dota2 matches are on average something like 3 times longer than sc2.

    • @nitroyetevn
      @nitroyetevn 4 роки тому

      I think the spirit of the Q is clear: the question is basically "in which game do you suffer the most/have the least opportunity to take your hands off the keyboard if say you had to adjust your shirt." That was the context.
      Mobas are definitely the closest comparison, but looking at it in the intended light, mobas have tons of downtime. For example running back to base, or running from base after tp, deaths, downtime at points of the laning phase which forms a considerable part of the game (say you kill your opponent in lane and you're a farming hero - your only job is to last hit creeps and buy items occasionally on courier until they return to lane, you would barely suffer to take a sip of water in between creep waves or w/e sometimes).
      While in rts and starcraft, outside of the first minute 100% of your apm ability is required for maximum performance. You will do measurably worse if you stop playing for 10 seconds, while this is not the case if well timed in a moba.
      For the record I'm mainly a moba player, so not biased towards starcraft.

      @Sol-gz4pp 4 роки тому

      No, he would never throw the match it's way too risky, you want to get out of the group first you don't want to risk getting eliminated in the final match.
      Maru simply got ouplayed and lost.

    • @tigera6
      @tigera6 4 роки тому

      @@scarredableTo me it does make sense to avoid Trap if you are Maru. Because its going to be a TvP, Maru has practiced alot of that, which should be against Trap who are his teammate. So its kinda obvious they both knew exactly what kind of build they are going to use against each other, and making it quite pointless.

    • @tigera6
      @tigera6 4 роки тому

      @@Sol-gz4pp Well, he got scared by Ragnarok in that first game, but still beating him. And I think Maru is confident he would beat him again with his TvZ. If its Zest, then even better because Maru 8-1 Zest the last time they met.
      And I am not saying that Maru trying to lose on purpose, he just not doing much trying to win against Innovation. No proxy racks, no early 2 base push, just basic 3-base macro in both games. Thats just not how Maru would play normally, look like hes just going through the motion against a COM.

    • @Sol-gz4pp
      @Sol-gz4pp 4 роки тому

      @@tigera6 Even if he was confident he would never give up the chance to go first, it would simply be stupid to no try your hardest to win the winners match and be done with the group, no progamer at this level would ever do that and risk getting eliminated in the final match, it's stupid.
      He was clearly trying and trying has nothing to do with that, you can play standard macro games and try it's only a bo3, he also didnt proxy against ragnarok that doesnt mean he was not trying.
      If you look at the games it was obvious he was trying, trying to do as much damage as he could with the hellions, trying to micro as hard as possible against the bcs, he just go outplayed in both games.The first game he got surprised by innovation tanks/vikings attack on his base and lost control over the game, the second game he got really suprised by innovation's build, clearly tried to defend his hardest but still got killed by the bcs/hellions.

      @@mythlegend1994 Then they did a damn poor job of phrasing. Moreover, some rts don't require near as much micro as others. I know they mention there's other rts, but they made it sound like only consider star craft because it's played professionally/competitively. OK LET ME STOP YOU THERE TASTELESS!
    In Quake you're just "holding down run"? XD
    Jesus man. SC2 is an amazing game but it's 20% luck (maybe 30%) and you can only micro one unit at a time with 100% skill. Two great pro players can fight and one can "blindly" win within 4 minutes just because of a blind build choice or the other didn't scout. Luck is a huge factor.
    Quake is just holding down run? XD
    Talk about angles, speed, weight, inertia, positioning, timing, aiming, controling, forwarding, backing, thinking forward, map control .... nah fuck that, just hold down RUN.
    Artosis knows. But seriously Tasteless, give it a rest man! SC2 is amazing and entertaining to watch but ... just holding down RUN? Quake eliminates LUCK more than any other video game ever except maybe two player computer chess. Give it a rest! XD
    Oh and one can do exactly the same commands and outcome as a pro SC2 player without clicking 250 times a minute (SPAM). Look at Empire KAS. Click click click click is, as grubby says, WHY NOT SPAM? Every single move in Quake relates directly to the outcome of the game because it changes your position. SC2 .... no. Just, no. Please stop! XD
    Come play me Tasteless and just hold down run. You will be fine!

    • @Timmsh88
      @Timmsh88 4 роки тому

      In Quake theoretically you have a second when you're dead. In starcraft theres always something to do. Even in the beginning when you watch your SCV's you can get ahead, by letting them mine more efficiently. Why can you micro only one unit efficiently? You can micro 2, 3. or 4 in groups right with 100 efficiency. And yes, Starcraft has an element of luck, because you don't have all the information needed to make a judgement, but quake has that too. You dont know where all the enemies are, you don;t know what guns they carry, so you can get unlucky.

    • @TheVanillatech
      @TheVanillatech 4 роки тому +1

      @@Timmsh88 So you can micro (that is INDIVIDUALLY CONTROL) "groups" of units? And the AI doesn't do a thing? Without a command from you, the unit is motionless and inert and doesn't fire or defend?
      Did you not read my comment about Empire KAS with his 70APM pro level play?
      How about Grubby admitting hundreds of times that it is uneccessary to click 300 times a minute but it keeps one "warmed up"?
      Show me a game of Quake III OSP at any division one or pro level play that ends in 4 minutes due to the player not knowing where the enemy is or what they are doing! XD
      You clearly don't understand Quake III enough to even contest my comment. Now if someone who is pro level SC2 and pro level Quake would like to throw in, I'd be all ears.
      And please .... when you're dead you don't "click" in Quake. That is a real argument from you? XD Before the respawn? Jesus christ man. LOL!

    • @Timmsh88
      @Timmsh88 4 роки тому

      @@TheVanillatech that's what they are talking about (tasteless and artosis), 'you can't even put your shirt straight during a game'. Well, of course you can debate this, like you do. But in quake you do have a second to put your shirt straight, when you die.
      If you need communication from your team mates, it means not all information is freely available. So yes luck is involved. I'm not here to argue about the percentages of luckz because that's straight out of your ass, but if you wish we can debate this.
      Kas is a pro, yes. But definitely not a high pro, and even though his average clicks aren't high, he knows when he needs to click fast or be dead in seconds.
