Average band, with a hideous lead singer, Corporate pushed a ridiculous comparison to Plant, in the end that will be the undoing. One more corporate album, move to an independent label, then disappear like all imitator bands do. To bad the kids followed corporate orders, even got a Plant endorsement.
I really like this band but a couple of things do bug me about them. 1) Josh - He does not have a real good stage presence/charisma. His hair, he needs to grow it long again, that short permed look just is not very rock and roll and makes him look too young. 2) The lead guitar player - That dude makes my back hurt every time I watch him!! lol
That's kind of funny--people knock Josh for his clothes (he has always dressed quirky even as a young kid), how he is trying to be 70's THEN it's grow your hair out cause you are not rock enough all rock stars have had long hair like Plant! I seen Josh's hair long it is curly and out of control looks much better short. The crowd loves him, he smiles and they feel they are part of the show.

The Backstreet boys are a band for little kids, as they grow up new music needs to be targeted to their demographic, the corporate executive finds a band with some talent, devises a marketing strategy that the new band will be labeled as "The New Led Zeppelin", for the next generation, the executive then starts a publicity campaign touting A "New Robert Plant" even getting endorsement from Plant, himself. As the excitement builds for work from the "new supergoup" they grab an appearance on a late night talk show and embarrass themselves with the singer screaming in a horrendous Geddy Lee imitation. The band loses credibility with many, but the corporate infrastructure sees profit and a tour is allowed. One more studio album, if it does not outdo the first, corporate will move on to the next, for a new generation. This is the fate of all "Next Led Zeppelin" business model bands. Even band members are now saying the comparisons to LZ, should stop, but it is to late. Witness Kingdom Come, Midnight Oil and Billy Squire all talented bands, pushed as the Next LZ, short careers, would still be around if they stayed true to their art, that can no longer happen as music is now industry controlled. Great real artists drop out after a few albums and go independent, less money more integrity.

LZ took obscure blues songs, made them HUGE profit makers for the artists, after lawsuits, because Jimmy did not want to give up money. In the end everyone profited. GVF writes their own songs? LOL They follow a corporate formula to imitate classic rock. nothing original here, move along.
