A lot of people were holding on to the cards for after pre sale prices. People were acting cards about the cards. On release people were trying to make me pay 24 for paild when the card was at 12 😂😂😂😂
While I often agree with the "not buying presales" sentiment I think that sometimes you come across as overly defensive of your viewpoint. This is one of those times: yes, the cards were "cheaper" on release day, but I think most folks would agree that the price did not really drop to the point one would expect. I am not talking dirt cheap, I mean affordable. It did not happen at all. So it would be fine to just say shit, tough luck instead of trying so hard to prove you are somehow right.

This was one of the worst market watches ever. Not only were you wrong about the presales on the cards that mattered (magna x and rapid x) but then you harped on that "wisdom" for the whole video. No estimates of "valkyrimon will go up with angels" or "bigukko will never be good, sell now". Just "I was right because 4 sales were cheaper on release day than now". Not the most mature.
Other times you accepted being wrong.
I should have saved my $300 in boxes, I pulled fuck all.
I'd still have money leftover if I got singles.
Was hoping to pull 2 SEC and sell the the rest to get 2 more SEC. I gamble and I got F-ed over.

Lmao Mario is a clown. I took a photo of the presale, but I can't find it is the equivalent of source, trust me bro. Not even 10 listings of Manga below $60 on release day. Like just say you were wrong when it came to specific cards.

Yup he always likes to speak out of his ass and likes to act like he’s the best one out there.
2 or 3 days after official release is still plenty of time for cards to level out in price. It happens for every tcg, prices will fall still. Magna and rapid stays expensive but less than now and all others fall drastically.
Only one magna x alt was sold for cheap on release day, and the lowest for presales was about 120$ 😂 “shoulda bought the pre sales”
There is definitely a shortage for this set. The timing for stores to preorder it was right after sales of Resurgence Booster were evident.
Makes me worry about next set
Curious on a couple different questions Mario!
1. Do you think holding a sealed box or two of BT16 would be a worthwhile investment considering this set was shortprinted?
2. My LGS is selling boxes at $90, which I was luckily able to grab a couple of before they sold out. We have another LGS selling at $100 per box, but I already felt like $90 was a little much. What point do you think is a fair cutoff for buying these boxes of BT16?

I would say that the clumping was so bad that I saw people pull 2 or 3 sp's out of a case. so I wouldn't believe in not buying boxes
As an Imperial enjoyer I am SO happy I bought on release day and not waiting to hope the Pails would drop to 12 or even 10 especially after seeing it violently fluctuate between 16 and 25. I was able to hit a window between 13 and 14 and my whole playset is in the mail as I type this.
Being able to map boxes is crazy
My case had 8 Magna X (4 alts) and 5 Rapid X (1 alt) and the SP Vikemon.
Glad I found an $829 case after seeing these prices. lol
If this is going to be the normal for the game I'm out. I doubt the combined sets and Bandai moving to 5 card games is going to make the game any less expensive.
This is wild, I pre-ordered 2 boxes at 86 and looking at it's price is wild. One box came in Friday and I pulled the alt art magna. I'm unsure to sell it or to hold on.
What if you happen to find a box in retail price, should you still buy it or just singles 🤔
I feel like you're wrong about people being over BT-16 when EX-06 comes out.
The SECs in this set are that strong and stay strong. Plus people want support in this set for future sets. DexDorugoramon is a thing for example.

How much do you think is a fair price for a magnamon x antibody chase card?
Yup my 1st box was rapid x reg and a ukko alt when ukko was 90$ not bad second box was alt kosuke and davis Ken kinda bad 3rd box after trading stuff in for store credit I got magna x reg and a big ukko alt so I got a magna x but the rest of my box was trash lmao

Damn we got some salty guys in comments cause they were thinking the best cards in next few formats would drop more than 5 dollars from presale prices when people were buying the presale price and you need 4 of them and they are in multiple decks.

And then there's me. Pulled an AA ImperialDramon:DragonMode (RarePull) and not understanding HOW you guys achieve the goal of selling those crazy money cards, even online seems like none like him :(

The irony is that the pre-sale prices for BT16 singles seemed to be cheaper, especially some of the alts like Dorumon, Kosuke, Valkyrimon Ace, etc
This box is just fucked price wise. People are willing to pay these insane prices, and so it is what it is. I was planning to play veemon armor but I'm not paying that much for cardboard. I just hope future boxes go back to normal or I will have to reconsider playing the game long term.

Totally agree, I was stalking the market place from midnight and all of friday and Saturday and there was no window where cards were "cheap" besides an hour window of magna going to 60 dollars. I understand what he is saying but these cards have barely budged.... so top saying you told us so

Its a holiday weekend in the states so a lot of places will be late to listing cards, and getting cards late bc the mail isn't running monday. The set still has time to settle.
Why is everything so expensive there in America? MagnaX is still an expensive card in Europe but it's selling for almost half of that in Cardmarket. Also, yeah, that "don't buy the pre-sales" thing doesn't always work out.

There's not enough stock for everyone to wait and buy on release day and that's all there is to that..
I was incredibly unlucky with pulling Ukkomons. I hit 3 of them from the 3 boxes I opened. However, I did good on pulls overall. Hit 3 Paildramons, 2 Valkyrie Ace, 1 Magna X, 1 Rapid X, then the AA's were: Paildramon, Valkyrie Ace, Shakkoumon, and Ukkomon, plus an SP Imperial FM ACE! So I can't really complain that I only got 3 Ukkomons.
This is what happens when shops stop ordering digimon to sale because nobody wanted to buy at retail and shops couldn’t make money. Now tcg is making a fortune
From the perspective of a fellow Canadian - Showing the exact price cards were sold at on TCG player to justify not buying the presales and instead buying when the set releases doesn't accurately reflect the Canadian market. Majority of sellers in the Canadian secondary market sell off market price and not TCG low so we would never be able to pick up the theoretical cheap/low listings you showed. Especially for the most meta defining cards (looking at Magna X and Imperialdramon, regular art and alt art variants as they're expected to be tier 1 this format), market price only gradually increased due to demand after the set released. And while I support my LGS where possible, pricing there is worse there as cards are usually higher than converted to pad their profit margins. Overall this set did feel like a pricing anomaly and it'll be interesting to see how the market moves as the set progresses with EX06 in the near horizon.
Brazil just didn't get the stuff on release day. As always distributors fucking us over.

I listened to you about release day but was at work so never even saw them for the low price. I did get a rapid x for 45 and 50 so not bad but still need 2 more
It is memorial day weekend.
I preordered a case back in February and shipped on 05/22 and has not arrived yet due to the holiday.
I expect a lot of people have this problem as well. Expect prices to go down by end of the week!
