That is an absolutely great road, enjoyed every km of the ascent to the lakes. The climb is very famous from Lavuelta, the cycling tour of Spain (I think I saw it first at the begining of 2000s, I was totally impressed by the landscape back then also), I assume that's why there are many cyclists trying to climb it. Would definetely want to do it once, and also try some hikes in the Picos d'Europa area. Is it true that the road is closed in summer for private vehicles and you have to take a bus to go up?

Es el lugar donde comenzo la reconquista cristiana y la expulsión de los musulmanes, año 722 por el Rey Pelayo. Huyeron y fueron perseguidos por esas montañas.

En transporte publico en primavera y verano puesto que hay demasiados turistas y los lagos parecian un parking, lo ideal es que pusieran un tren cremellera o un teleferico ...
