The notes looked wonderful, but I tried it, and I could not get past what I suppose was the Pink Bay or Caraway Seed. You did not list Caraway, but I think it is in there. I have several other Amouage perfumes that I love, especially Lyric and Memoir. I adore Orientals and really wanted to like this, but I could not get past the Caraway and/or Pink Bay.. 😐 Re the evocation of a journey, Serge Lutens 's Borneo 1834 does that for me. 🙂 I recently tested Bracken Woman, and I really like it a lot. It is not an Oriental, though. Also tested Reflection Woman which I found rather generic and uninspiring. Ditto for Figment Woman, although I liked Figment more than Reflection.

Epic woman is one one my favourites. I am on my second bottle. It last forever because you do not need much and you do not need to reapply. I also spray it on my pillow and it lasts for days on fabric.

I like that you get the difference in fragrances from when you put nose to skin and when they waft in the air. Interlude Woman was awful nose to skin but wafting it was rather lovely (in the dry down). I remember when I sampled this I got this crisp greenness and I assumed it was possibly the patchouli; I think because that part kind of reminded me of a Mugler and I've always assumed patchouli is what gives his scents his "stamp" if you will. I could be totally wrong about that though! Great review Tom, so glad you're back!!

I’m not a fan of this one. I think it’s unique, weird actually, I guess it’s ok but I love Lilac Love much much more. You did an amazing job describing this one. It is a hard one to figure out.

I think the cumin is touching on skanky, but well behaved. It's more crisp and sharp than anything. It's so complex. Amouage fragrance reviews are always my most passionate, and difficult. haha. I'm still to find one that will floor me as much as Opus 9. Hehe. :)

It's hard to decipher between fragrances that take me on a journey, and fragrances that just take me "back" to an already familiar place SO, I'm gonna have a long hard think of all the things i've smelled that have moved me. I am sampling this again today...and let me say this review is spot on perfect!! How Tom describes it, is exactly how it is. Even though it is spicy and oriental I think it can easily be worn in warm weather because of the crispness that Tom keeps referring to. This may very well be my next FB Amouage purchase. Also even though it's Epic Woman it smells totally unisex, maybe even leaning just a bit masculine. A must try!

Amouage's are among the most difficult to review, but also the most fun to smell! :) In my video with my crazy friends the other day, Michelle fell in LOVE, so I gave her the rest of my sample. She seemed to be really surprised by Epic! Nice of you to pass it on to her!
Hehe yes she was the brunette, the girl in the middle was actually sober but ya know, the video would have been the same if we were all sober. They are so intense haha. It took an hour to get them to settle and smell things. She REALLY wanted Aramis Calligraphy rose too, I've remembered that and I'm gonna buy it for her birthday on Sat. YAY!

Not a fan of this one ,but it is a winter fragrance! Most important is cumin not going skanky, because cumin in some perfumes damn I get the underarm sweat horrible!! Just today I went to amouage boutique and again smelt the latest and previous ones.. thing is most could give me headache ! I am being sensitive to heavy scents specially it is summer.. only two I have from this house are lyric and gold and I like them but not much summer fragrances
I think the Cumin in this only adds a dryness, not a horrible skanky (although I did say that). It's still a VERY heavy fragrance though, but it stays crisp! It's almost like it's cold, spicy and crisp rosy. Very complex. Amouage are not really a brand that makes quiet fragrances often (Although I have Lyric and it's Gorgeous). If you are sensitive? This could be your nightmare!

For Amouage one of my faves for women that is BOLD is this one!!! Also the black bottle Memoir, but my favourite of all time is Opus IX! :)
