The very fact that the Concorde that was used in the film was F-BTSC, the exact same airframe that was later involved in the crash of Air France Flight 4590 on July 25th 2000, Just gives so many bad vibes every time I watch this movie..
The fact BTSC was used in this movie made it not age very well. To think this was the only Concorde to crash and sparked an accelerated retirement of the type to museums :(

Absolutely brilliant! Some interesting trivia, 1. the Concorde used for filming is the same one that ended up crashing 20+ years later, and 2. Concorde can indeed outrun most fighters (other than perhaps the F-22?) because of its supercruise ability. Fighters without supercruise will quickly run out of fuel from all that afterburner use. Also there was one more flight in that movie, the leg from Paris to Moscow, in which Robert Wagner again attempts to shoot them down, this time resulting in a fuel leak requiring them to make an emergency landing in the snow at Patscherkofel ski resort near Innsbruck. I'd love to see you attempt that landing yourself, as well as react to more aviation movies from before you were born! :)
1. The Concorde that was used in that film and at the same time, involved in a crash in 2000 was the registration: F-BTSC.
2. The part you said that was fuel leak “caused by shootdown” (during Paris-Moscow flight section) wasn’t happened. The cause of that emergency landing was caused by a sabotage that was done by Robert Wagner’s men (setting a Concorde’s cargo door to be opened mid-flight).

The F4 was actually a mercenary hired by an American businessman (because his TV reporter girlfriend who had evidence of his company illegally smuggling weapons was on the Concorde flight). No mention of Soviet foul play in the movie, although the Concorde was on its way to the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

that movie is certainly silly, hillarious and far from realistic .. but it still is a classic, and as an aviation geek you just have to love it, so do i. :) at least it is quite entertaining ;)
.. and as already commented, the concorde used for real footage was the F-BTSC which crashed in 2000...

The funny part is they used a flare on a fox 1. A fox 1 is a semi active radar guided missile which means it uses the radar of the plane that fired it to track. The flare would not effect missile since it does not track heat sources

…especially mid-flight in a supersonic airliner
It's really hard to evaluate this movie from a non-aviation and non-technical perspective because the "story" is basically nonexistent outside of the Concorde stuff, and what little story there is is so heavily entwined with the technical stuff that when they get something wrong (which is like, 90% of the movie), you REALLY notice it.
I think I've found my next Bad Movie Night flick.
