Really very informative video... salute u for such a deep knowledge sharing; here I would also like to add it will be better if for normal type of flights(with full automation) particular training should be given to pilots to bypass/override the each and all automation way of controlling the flights. However for safe practises to bring the flight from automation to manual control it can be password protected and password can be allotted only for such emergency cases.

Fluid explanation. RIP To All The People Who Lost Lives In This Crash.
I have worked on 737 max on Environmental control system. Also have knowledge on Flight control system and flight management system. I can confirm on his logic . There are deeper problem with Boeing design . I posted my report 3 years back that Boeing design is not good. They wanted to have all the components of EVS in single LRU which is complicated and more error prone. I guess they have follow the same design pattern in FMS/ FCS. I have worked also on Airbus A350 XWB. Airbus designs are neat and clear.
And yet airbus has had issues with their systems as well. Air France flight anyone. Amazibg how you airbus freaks forget that one.
Automation is Good but sometimes it may be lethal from this example. ✈🚨🛑

Respect to all those who perished due to the failure of the aircraft but Boeing have form for producing less than safe products lately. The lithium-ion 787 issue that grounded it for months. The 737 Max is a 50 year old airframe stuffed with new technology and both probably don't sit together that well but make a great budget proposition for airlines and a big profit earner for Boeing thanks to the vastly reduced development costs. Sadly Boeing have put profit before safety and they may have to pay the price of airlines switching to products that have been engineered for the 2020's rather than the 1960's with some high tech add-ons.
Boeing executives should be prosecuted and executed for mass-murder.
Did you understand the video???. It's in Hindi
Correct , except the airframe part. You see the design cannot be further improved as we have achieved saturation in aerodynamic technologies.
Actually being is to be blamed but I think after the max returns ,it will be the safest aircraft..
Some things that boeing did wrong was that they configured the mcas to run on even one sensor so that the mcas would work if even if one of the sensor is damaged.. And for some reason, they didn't train the pilots to switch of the mcas...
If the mcas is switched off, the aircraft can be trimmed. Manually..
Also mcas doesn't work in autopilot mode.
Boeing has already told that they have configured the mcas to run on 2 AoA sensors, and also mcas will be easier to switch off..

Thanks for the video and detailed explanation - very informative. As far as I have read about the Air France Flight 447 crash issue, the investigation suggested that the ice caused the pitot tubes (an aspect of the plane that measures speed) to freeze and the blocked pitot tubes were no longer providing valid airspeed information, and the aircraft transitioned from normal law to alternate law and gave control to the pilot who in an attempt to reduce aircraft's roll adjusted to the altered handling characteristics of the aircraft and at the same time pulled back on his side-stick, raising the nose. The aircraft's stall warning sounded briefly twice due to the angle of attack tolerance being exceeded, and the aircraft's recorded airspeed dropped sharply. The aircraft's angle of attack increased, and the aircraft started to climb above its cruising level. By the time the pilot had control of the aircraft's roll, it was climbing at nearly 7,000 feet per minute.
The icing event had lasted for just over a minute. The pilot continued making nose-up inputs. The aircraft had climbed to its maximum altitude of around 38,000 feet (12,000 m). There, its angle of attack was 16 degrees, and the engine thrust levers were in the fully forward Takeoff/Go-around detent (TOGA). As the aircraft began to descend, the angle of attack rapidly increased toward 30 degrees. A second consequence of the reconfiguration into alternate law was that stall protection no longer operated. Whereas in normal law, the aircraft's flight management computers would have acted to prevent such a high angle of attack, in alternate law this did not happen. The wings lost lift and the aircraft stalled. In response to the stall, the first officer on the left side took over control of the aircraft and pushed his control stick forward to lower the nose and recover from the stall; however, the first officer on the right side was still pulling his control stick back. The inputs cancelled each other out and triggered a "dual input" warning and eventually, the aircraft crashed into the ocean killing all 228 passengers and crew on board.
Absolutely correct! Thanks for pointing this out. While I loved the presentation on this video, the 447 crash example is not a good one to give. While it is true that the origin was the icing on the pitot tubes, the root cause of the crash was largely the limited experience of the the pilot Bonin (in addition to extremely limited resting time), who gave max nose up inputs continuously, canceling the nose down inputs from the first officer Robert. In fact, the icing conditions had meant that the computer systems smartly shifted from normal to alternate law, so as to allow the pilot to give the right inputs as the airspeed inputs were unreliable for the computer to take the right decision.
So I'd attribute this crash much more down to pilot error category rather than system configuration.
Who told you how it happened? Cowards!!!!!!

Yashvardhan Singh Chauhan yes absolutely
air crash investigations is an awesome series...................specially the air france crash episode
Please allow me to make it simple. I am a hang glider and sailplane pilot - and managed to survive 53 years. I way prefer lower performing gliders because they are more stable. We are at the cutting edge (with our current technology) of aircraft design and ANY ATTEMPT TO MAKE THEM ANY MORE HIGH PERFORMANCE (IE MORE FUEL EFFICIENT / FASTER ETC COMES ONLY WITH LESS STABILITY - WHICH "DON'T WORRY" - BECAUSE BOEING HAVE DESIGNED IN SUPERCOMPUTERS - apparently that you can trust 99.9% of the time). So Boeing chased 14% fuel "efficiency". Easy to do..... make your aircraft look more like an X15 (that CANNOT EITHER TAKE OFF OR LAND ON ITS OWN).... but is more "missile like". But try take off or land with this heap of $hit WITHOUT ANY SUPERCOMPUTER AID..... You will most likely be a toasted marshmellow. ANY CIVIL AIRCRAFT SHOULD BE CONTROLLABLE BY MANUAL FLIGHT PILOT (SUITABLY TRAINED OF COURSE) AND NOT BE A HEAP OF $HIT THAT WOULD PREFER TO TAKE ANY OPPORTUNITY / FAULT TO OVER RIDE PILOTS AND KILL EVERYONE. fU$3 YOU BOEING...... NO ONE FROM MY FAMILY WILL TRAVEL ON YOUR HIGHLY "ECONOMICAL" PIG.

1. AirBus wanted to introduce A320 neo. 2.This thing was powerful than Boeing 737 3. Boeing decided to add more power for 737 by moving it's engines high. 4. While using full thrust, the 737 Max nose was going rather upwards than the safe angle. 5. So to suffice this, they added MCAS Software. 6.MCAS automatically brings the nose down if the nose is high. 7.MCAS malfunctioned due to wrong sensor inputs.. 8.Result :- 320 innocent souls gone...
One day this changed was recommended to me by UA-cam and I saw this video, and today I am watching this in 2020 though I didn't understood anything.

Condolences to all of the souls which were lost aboard the Ethiopian airplane
Lakshay Kumar what is the difference in EICAS AND MCAS THOUGH BOTH OR USED BY BOEING?
EICAS is used for monitoring airplane's status like fuel remaining, hydraulic pressure and MCAS is a new device installed in max series as the leap 1b engines produce quiet a lot of thrust as compared to their cfm counterparts installed in Ng variants so due to extra thrust the old designed horizontal stabilizers were not enough so they had to be regulated about 0.7° in a controlled cruise flight do that is what MCAS was designed to do. And MCAS is independent of Autopilot A or B
