    As a former government worker, I recommend never, never, never carry your Social Security card in a wallet. It's certainly not needed for travel.

    I always slip an empty gallon size bag into my carry-on along with a small pack of tissues. During the flight I slip my used tissues, cookie wrappers ect in that bag and zip it up. At the end of the flight I just pop the contained trash into the bag the flight attendant has and everyone is happy.

      I put my gallon bag in the seat pocket bag. I place my personal items into it so are from germs. At the end of the flight I can put my personal items safely in my pack, and my garbage can go into the bag, ready for disposal.

    Great video! I have watched hundreds of travel videos over the years, and yours was hands down one of the best. There were products I didn’t even know existed-travel hangers?-genius. I appreciate the fact that you are an avid traveler and have already vetted these products, so that occasional travelers like me don’t have to waste time.

    For your fabric travel items , if you spray them when new with Spray Starch it will keep them clean and easy to wipe of spills as it makes them stain resistant.

      @@Megan-gp7dn personally, as a "one-bagger", I've initially traveled with campers clotheslines which you can even get at REI which you don't even need clothes pins for.. but at the very beginning of the pandemic I got stranded for about 2 months and my hotel room became my home. I saw these on Amazon and grab them and my shower curtain rod in my hotel room became my laundry drying room. PS, as a one bagger I rarely use a laundromat but use a bag called the "Scrubba" which is a small wash bag with nubs inside which you can wash small pieces like perhaps one or two t-shirts, undergarments etc. As a lifelong traveler I usually travel with Merino wool items like Merino wool underwear and t-shirts and they wash very easily and dry very quickly! Happy travels! 😊

    Wow! You covered so many items that are really, I would say, essential. I can understand the reason for taking things for hygiene purposes. I have travelled since I was very young, as we lived in East Africa, and with my dad's job we would have to fly back to England for long vacations. That was back in the 50s through 70s. I don't think that things were so gross then flying as they are these days. I haven't flown anywhere since 2004 and probably won't be doing so again, but you have some great items. Very organized. Happy travels.✈

    Hubby and I have transitioned over to bags that can sit on the counter in the bathroom after staying several hotels that no longer have towel bars or even a hook to hang bags from. Also I totally hear you on your travel make-up. I am very minimal so I can keep a mascara, moisturizer and chapstick in my bathroom bag but I now keep a packing cube of undies and bras packed and in my luggage at all times after leaving those at home one trip. 🙂

    • @IntriguedLioness
      @IntriguedLioness 2 роки тому +2

      I still have to have my hanging top kits and usually find a way but you are absolutely correct about minimal makeup. I cringe when I see someone trying to repack their luggage in an airport because it's over 50 lb and they have everything from a hair dryer to a kitchen sink! 🧐😝 Happy travels!

      @@Megan-gp7dn I'm actually surprised this is your first UA-cam video. I don't do Facebook and I haven't done FB in 10 years so you're not new to vlogging. After spending an entire career in everything from tourism marketing to being a meeting planner for large medical conventions I have so much knowledge yet I shut down my YT channel ages ago. But I still enjoy staying up to date with new products so I continue to watch these videos.
      I am very very picky and laugh at infomercial type vloggers because I do know they get pennies for every link to Amazon (you might find you might want to follow up with that in the futuree... no cost to your viewers!) but at the same time you are sharing information on items you yourself actually travel with and that's a step up from most. You seem to have good equipment and you are crystal clear and with proper lighting we can actually see the items you are sharing with us.
      I rarely subscribe on the very first video but seeing this is your first I'm going to go ahead and subscribe because I don't think you're going to try me crazy with things that are impractical but might look good to an influencer!
      Welcome once again to the travel vlogging community!

    Love the gostacks, I had not seen them before. I *always* have salt with me. I like Krazy Salt. Also useful in restaurants-some don’t have salt on the table and this way I don’t have to wait. Also for weddings and catered events, which almost never have salt. I have the hangers, great tip for storage. I also travel with many extra items, like you, but every single thing is in my bag for a reason. One extra suggestion: a small roll of 3M Tear-by-hand tape.

    Another good tip for passport holders… is the one with the lanyard and wristlet. It holds 4-5 I think. And has a pen holder. I keep it around my neck in the airport so I don’t lose it 😊

    • @IntriguedLioness
      @IntriguedLioness 2 роки тому +2

      Traveling with a pen is always a great idea especially during a pandemic! You'll always have it on you when you're filling out your destination card on your flight and any other information at the check-in desk. I've chosen a larger passport holder than shown here as even a few more millimeter of space gives you a ton more slots to keep everything from receipts for your return VAT taxes but everything from hotel keys to sim cards for your destination. Happy travels!

      Good luck on your relocation! I myself have done that a few times in a very long career and depending on if your company's paying for your shipments you might want to consider pre-shipping a very large suitcase. I have a 80 Litre purple monster that I've shipped before my trips if I'm staying more than even 6 months. There are many companies that do the service and it not only saves money and time but chaos and hassle on your final day of travel. Happy travels! 😊

    Hi Megan. I love the fact that you are an “extra” mom. I am too and especially when I travel I have had to use most of those items I am teased about more than once. Here are a couple of extra items I have learned to pack - one twin pillow case and one twin flat sheet. Some hotels upon further inspection didn’t make me comfortable enough to use their sheets straight out and I’d make these my barrier (When rolled takes up very little space). Also a personal utensil set that comes apart (fork and spoon) or folds (like a straw) so you always have it if needed. At least 4 pills for each med to cure potential ills especially abroad : cramps, headache, nausea, tums, pepto etc, small kids size scissor foldable (to cut tags from purchases or nail clipper will also do and and safety pins. Thanks for sharing your tips and taking time to put out this video! Safe travels!

    • @kimberlycoltrainrsrccr2626
      @kimberlycoltrainrsrccr2626 2 роки тому +2

      LOVE the packing extra sheet! I couldn't rest until I put the barrier on the bed.
      Even w hotels toting the extra sanitizing, I still need the barrier for assurance.
      Funny how the 'extra' folks are always teased...until the 'do you happen to haves' need something!
      We just took a roadtrip to the coast and it was so refreshing to know we didn't have to depend on 'hoping to find' whatever when the next rest stop was 90 miles away. Especially since we left on a Sunday& lots of places either opened later or were closed.
      Not saying I packed the whole house up, but basics & then some. Stocked the cooler w fruits & water & deconstructed hoagies on ice in foil & we were great for the 6 hr drive.
      Dry snacks on the side.
      Love that I'm loved and not considered extra by the one it matters to.😎

      @IntriguedLioness 2 роки тому +1

      I just popped onto Megan's first video and she's already better than most of the influencer type travel vloggers on youtube.
      One thing I'll throw in on your sheet tip, which is a great tip but to take up less packing area (I'm what we call a one-bagger) I have purchased over many years of travel --- sleeping bag liners. The less expensive ones are synthetic and there's nothing wrong with that, they wash well and they are durable, but the silk are not only anti-static but a single will pack up in the enclosed sleeve to the size of your fist!... I not only use it in questionable hotels or hostels which is not usually the case with me, but on airlines and it gets a lot colder, especially on longhauls.. you slip into this and it's not like a blanket where there's still cold air coming from beneath.. very warm, very comfortable and I sleep like a lamb. The personal pillow case is always a good idea if you have space in your luggage. I actually has started using satin ones that are created so that you don't get creases and wrinkles and you're supposed to be the young forever... but there are helpful if your hairdo has to last in your travels but they also fold up very very small and you can always use them for a laundry bag if laundry is in your schedule.
      Happy travels! 😊

      Trust me, consummate travelers cringe when "influencers" love to do a how-to video and just throw the shoes in willy-nilly.. it's beyond gross! Shoe bags are very inexpensive and indispensable! Happy travels! 😊

    Loved your video. The products are amazing, tho I don’t know why you have cases for all the passports then put them all still another case. Perhaps they are color coded😂. Shoes can simply be covered with clear veg bags from the supermarket and tossed afterward. It would be helpful if you showed us how you pack all these things for accessibility, particularly that fabulous blanket. Where do you stash that? In your personal bag? I’d love to see how you pack your personal bag with all those great things. Also useful to know if that personal bag has a sling that will fit over your carryon handle for rolling thru the airport. Do you also stash your crossbody pocketbook in your personal bag? Maybe you have further posts showing how you travel with just a carryon snd personal bag and also all those do-dads. And I can’t travel without my flake salt! Old Bay! Great addition!

    I do have a suggestion when you travel do not travel with your Social Security card is not needed whether traveling domestic or international. I would make a copy of your passports and put them somewhere in your luggage, purse ( email it to yourself or to a family member not traveling with you) in case you loose your passport.
    Once again great job

      Agreed. I don't know why even some government sites say bring your social security card when they won't even mail them out anymore. All you need is the number.
      Also, I found it helpful to scan these items.. just your personal scanner on your phone will do. You never know when you'll need to email this information. Happy travels!

You are obviously super organized amd thought of just about everything. My only suggestion is to please link the products you are sharing with us. I only have the adapters that I already showed in the video. If you’re looking for a certain country you can search that country on Amazon and the adapter will come up.
