You know... This intro really hits me. Imagine being a 6ft robot mech at home by yourself because it's raining outside. You then have an idea and fire up your gaming system wether it's console, PC, or mobile and play on your friend's favorite game and connect to multiplayer and join your friend's lobby and you two have fun spending time and playing together. This is why we have such technology so that no matter how far from each other or whatever prevents us from meeting, we're all connected and we're all still together. Thank you, ETA Prime.
Man I gotta say I respect your hustle. You just rip through quality videos, I have a hard time making 3 a week. Maybe it's just too hard to edit my own face? Respect on the consistent quality videos :)
I definitely want to see the handheld you're making, sounds interesting and with you're knowledge after reviewing so many units, you should know what we need to make a good one
Really enjoying these monitor videos for raspberry pi. Really helpful to know which screens are good and useful. Thanks. Looking at building an instrument with Pi 4 so great feedback for my project.
RPi is more powerful then you think, because software is optimized for years, and similar board's usually don't have nowhere near big community to help with software and optimization. You can find compare videos on UA-cam, and Pi usually perform better then expected in emulation.
Would you make a video on making a mini arcade cabinet with this screen to its proportions? With mini arcade buttons and stick, maybe adding a HDMI out and usb to connect another controller as well. That'd be really cool.
Where can I get longer flex cables with the blue isolation being on both ends on the same side such as the one delivered together with the OSOYOO? Because virtually every other replacement cable I could find has the isolation on different sides and you cannot just twist the cable... so they are not compatible...
I got a 4 gig ram pi 4 laying in a drawer and I’ve been considering building a gameboy advanced style handheld with it. I can’t wait to see your build ETA. Perhaps I’ll even copy it.
Looks like he dropped it. I tried getting in touch with him to see if he was going to continue it... but he never got back... so I'm picking up where he left off. I should have two versions, one that uses a USB PD bank and one that uses a 2s LIPO pack. You can see some of the progress I made in my videos
I'm using that screen with my raspberry pi 4b 8gb running raspbian for my 3d printer. I have it at 1080p in config.txt, but once in the gui it forces the 800x480 resolution. Even set to "small screen" mode it still doesn't display enough to show the buttons at the bottom of most applications. Is there a way to force a higher resolution in the gui? Yes, I've Googled and all that I can find is how to set the resolution options that modify the config.txt file.
I am looking for 6/7" display to a rasp pi 4 that i can use outside (so it needs to bright). I have looked to smartphone/tablet displays as they usually are bright enough and cheap, but didnt found any positive feedback to how to adapt them to the pi. Any ideas?
I started getting into pi's because I THOUGHT I was going to put one on my scooter, until I realized there wasn't a display on the planet that was up to the task. I started looking at e-paper displays, but they're too slow and too low-res to use as a desktop, and virtually none are touchscreens. So I broke down and bought a cellphone holder, and now my pi is just a fancy alarm clock (and my phone still works better, even at that).
@@MrDavidBFoster My idea is to put one on my motorcycle 😅 (Honda NX 650) I want to add a sense hat and some other sensors to a pi, so i can measure temperature, leaning angle, speed, maybe Google Maps?, etc. Then i will try to make my own program to display all that information in a cool way 😄 Have lots of ideas. Its a big project, right now i am trying to understand if i have the hardware to do it 🤔
I have a 7" 1024x600 IPS HDMI for one of my pi's.. Picture is good -- maybe a bit strong on contrast. The one thing I don't like about it (apart from it not being a touchscreen) is... Because it also has HDMI audio, the sound cuts out when power management kicks in.. making it useless as a media player unless I leave the screen on 24/7. I suppose I could buy a soundcard; but then I'd have three audio sources, and Raspbian has enough trouble with just the two!
What do you do for a living. Your UA-cam channel has to cost tons to run with everything you purchase. Awesome channel. Was just wondering if you worked in technology in anyway.

Not viable as for-profit model, but definitely covers some of his costs. UA-cam ads as well.
I didnt realize they updated retropie for the pi 4, gonna have to check that out! I've ben using Lakka and its great, but I like that emulation station front end.
The unit looks OK but why isn't it better? Shove all the electronics to one side to allow for a flatter thinner unit that you can put a back onto. That would be cool and better yet if it was 8 inch.
ETA PRIME Hi, i have question about GPD XD + Was Your device had issues with battery? When charging level went down to 30% it goes in few minutes to 1% or when U turn off device with 20% - 30% and turn on it will display that 1% of battery left. Cause i dont know what to do.
Hello. Nice video. However, I've been searching for some screen which is affordable and compatible with Argon One M.2 Case. Because with screens like the above, I can't use SSD in the Argon One M.2. So is there any? Also, do you recommend LCD or LED? I've been thinking about the 9 inch LCD Screen by Waveshare
I have one of those. It's one of only TWO I could find (this, and the official raspberry pi display) that uses the DSI port.. And the ONLY ONE that doesn't have a secondary control board, and requires an additional power supply..making it THE LARGEST TOUCHSCREEN available that will do 60fps, that will run from a cellphone battery... Which SUCKS, because it's NOT exceptionally bright, it's NOT an IPS display, and you pretty much have to be looking straight at it to see anything. That said, it's still better than anything else you can buy.
Becareful getting stuff shipped from China prime hate see you get that virus shipped to you ...you my number one guy I know when you say something about emulator s rasberry piS or equipment that's it's the real deal when I hear it from you ....much respect prime ..best wishes to you and your family God bless

Also anyone know of a good Pi4 and screen + battery package available? I am a telecommunications engineer and I am looking for a small device to build to basically run speed tests from customer CPE as a laptop in my company is not provided. I purchased a hyper pixel 4.0 screen to make a handheld retro console. With retropie you cannot rotate the screen. I hope they fix it soon. I need another to replace it, what a waste of money.
I'd like to build my own UMPC specifically for Linux and Mobile usage. Something like the GPD Pocket 2 or One Netbook One Mix 3. I don't like smartphones, the Mobile OSs out there are not working for me. I have tried SailfishOS and some Android roms, but I just want a desktop OS on my "smartphone". Any recommendations for forums or ideas on how I would get this done? (I don't have any experience with electronics, but I'm eager to learn)

The Pi 4 could be the Nintendo Switch killer with that mod and screen set up. Just need 2 small usb controllers.
The Hollanesian joycons work awesome for that. I use them for my LattePanda Nintendo switch project
Nifty screen, only thing I dont like is its connector is backwards, so you cant use the normal DSI cable, you have to use their cable.
Could you please try some openmw on raspberry pi 4 handheld?

I've wanted to do a retropie handheld with a 5in display and rasberry pi 4
Perfect size for me for handheld retro gaming. I just wish that Rasberry Pi's now are more powerful for emulation.
