1:00 Why wouldn't you just drill out the knot so you get a perfect circular hole, then fill it with the same sized dowel so you don't have to do all the extra steps of the super glue, saw dust, etc.?
@2:30 Ok, why would you dowel a join like that, rather than at a right angle through the mortice and tenon? Doesn't seem like the dowel would add any extra strength this way; force sufficient to separate the M&T would just pull that dowel out along with it.
That would work too. If you notice the dowel holes were half on the mortise and half on the tenon, effectively making the dowel like a key that prevents the joint pulling apart.
It's really extraordinary, the ability of a qualified carpenter, neat, symmetrical, sturdy and strong, not everyone can do this job, it requires flying hours and precision in measurements and calculations, basically appreciation for those who created this content, always success ♥️♥️❤❤
I normally get annoyed by videos that do not show what you see on the still photo "Hook" but these are impressive joints and any joint that is strong by design will always be better than one that relies on fixings.

How about just getting a piece of wood that doesn't have a huge knot in it? Instead of spending an hour putting a damn dowel in a knot hole for crying out loud?
@@Janjakeraj__1 of course I can do it. I literally have a video on my channel about plugging holes in wood. But it's only viable if it's a small nail hole or something of the sort. Not a giant knot! I'll put it this way, if I saw an employee of mine doing this, id fire them.

As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.

Danke! ❤
The joints are eye pleasing for sure...But not needed.

I do them with offset ovals at half thickness on each side. One failing won't leave a hole in your boat.
bc then the video would be over dummy
your idea is great it would be faster but it seems like he wants to keep the wood intact

Вообще при сбивании деревянных стыков пользуются деревянной киянкой, а не железным молотком.

What kind of wood are you using?
This the type of bs that someone who knows nothing about actual woodworking but found a piece of wood lying around and remembered a tiktok they saw
Cool

Оказывается, не только японцы умеют такие соединения досок делать. :)

I'd say, you need CNC to make the joints as precise to have a right angle.
Более того, на данном видео очень много косяков, которые не осмысляет даже автор =)))
Канал молодец, набирает аудиторию, и благодаря этому видео можно понять статистику, сколько вокруг ходит необразованных людей.

The woodworking solutions are good, but the background music is terrible. It's like the playback speed is changing.
None of this is really worth it. Seems more like a hobby than anything else. Its neat but not practical

those nails do more damage than the hammer would. That vice work was so "good" that there's a huge gap in the joint.
