So, it’s normally recommended that you have the same or better material for foundations or poles as the material that you are holding. For stone floor, stone pillars, and so on. I think that you can go “one material” down but I don’t recommend. And for the bridge, you need to cover it with a slopped roof. 😁 Keep up the great content, man!
I guess you now encountered the cause why I only set a foot into the snow biome after I build myself a trusty rifle 🤣. I may be a wimp but at least rifle rounds successfully down bears 😂
These videos for Icarus rock!!! Funnily enough, I started playing Icarus again right before you started these videos, so it's been incredibly pleasing watching you and getting hyped to play my own, much like how it worked with your 7 Days videos. I really love Icarus and can't wait for it to get optimized to the point where my hardware seppukus after 4 hour sessions. Loving building, although it's never entirely the most aesthetic... Can't wait to see some more projects of yours to which I shall gain inspiration!!! Thanks for all you do, Tem. :)
The cave that has the wall in it and the back mining area... also has another area that you should check out. in the main chamber with the big rock pillar in the middle.... look up. there's an upper ledge that you can get to that you should check out. you can build to get up there if that seems like something you want to do. Also i'm not done with the video but i kind of cant wait to see you one shot a giant stone node and get all of the stone at once XD
It’s been a while since I last played and you are making me want to play while at work. A trick with bears and polar bears was that when they charge, walk towards them and at the last min, side step. Their swipes used to be delayed a bit and they used to not stop on a dime. Going to be starting up some Prometheus tonight after work.
Nice Video. I think the hitbox of the head from the polar bears is a little bit "small" or something. The frozen ore is a special thing from Mining with a Coldsteel Pickaxe.
Pressing Q takes all, saves a lot of time, theres also a perk (under hunting i think) that shows you a creatures health bar, will help with detecting animals around you (another one in the same tree highlights the animal while aiming). also build a firepit, its much better than the campfire. CTRL+click moves a stack, SHIFT+CTRL+click move all of that item (multiple stacks)
For the bridge I would have extended the beams up then using the stone floors turn them into pointy roofs then you have a bridge with a nice roof over it which should prevent snow build up which cause the collapse
The thermos has to be for handling the supercooled ice! And the crafting station could probably just have been placed in your home. I have no idea though, have not played Icarus yet. Will probably pick it up on the next Steam sale. Keep up the good work, love both your videos on UA-cam and the streaming on Twitch.
Dude your editing is so good lol. Also this game has had some massive updates over time this is my first time watching a playthrough since realase. Really loving this series keep it up
PILLARS DON'T TAKE DAMAGE LIKE OTHER CONSTRUCTED OBJECTS! In all my time playing the game, I have never seen a pillar take damage from weather. The entire rest of the building could be destroyed, and the pillars would still be there, ready to hold new panels. This is why I suggest building a framework for the wall and ceiling panels out of pillars before filling everything in; it makes the building a lot more stable.

Snow wolves are an easy way to level up. Kill them (about 2000 xp) and another bunch of points when you skin them. You don't need to take anything, just the skinning animation is enough.
Something i found thats a new addition that you'll want to get made is in Tier 1. It's a water filtration unit. It'll clean up your water, uses charcoal.
Stone buildings aren't very effective in Prometheus; it's better to aim for scoria brick or clay brick structures. Also, prioritize getting the Miasmic pickaxe and axe as soon as possible! You'll gather far more resources with Miasmic tools, so make sure to craft a Chemistry Bench to process the crystallized miasma obtained from hunting creatures in the swamps. With the Miasmic pickaxe, you'll be able to collect noxious crust from resources, process them in the Organic Residue Cleanser, and effectively double your resource yield!
Wooden Pillar will not support a Stone Floor/Buildable. You have to be very specific with weight/strength categories. You also need stone pillars in all corners in your base, going from the ground to the ceiling/roof. Some of them in the middle as well, if the base is big. You need to make sure the bridge is covered with Sloping Roof. Infact, the wooden bridge will be okay, if you have sloping roof over it. One small point, they are not called "Foundations" but "Frames". They do not provide any strength to your buildings but a level surface and specific height for the grid. They still need pillars around them for strength for the building above it. They can also be cladded with walls and pillars on it's four sides and corners. Also, you are asking for it with placing the Campfire in the middle of the base with wood floors all around. Get a fireplace. When you take on a Bear/Polar Bear, you need to Joust them like Matador and a Bull. Just run past them when they are charging towards you. Keep shooting arrows when they are running towards you and just step aside when they come near you. Never look away from the bear.
You really need to learn the bear joust. You have no chance of outrunning a bear. Normal bears can be killed by punching them - polar bears with that bow should be fairly easy using the jousting sidestep and short run, turn, shoot, repeat. Flint arrows would really help.
Support for structures in this game is super wonky. The only way I've found to effectively deal with it is to put pillars everywhere it will let me (foundations, up walls, along roofs, etc.), but that's probably not the best solution.
Open Question (to all): At what point did you think "That's not going to end well..." when Tem decided to take on a POLAR BEAR with only his Bow? - Answer: The moment he took aim and said, "Lets try..."
you really should put a point into animal feed. i dont remember exactly what its called but i am pretty sure its supposed to last much longer than just random crops
Just a heads up: Composite armor is better than the best armor offered on the station. For bees you take out the hive on the wall with a ranged weapon, and then hit the bees with a knife or spear. The bees will pull back to attack you when your back is turned, you can use that to get them close enough to strike. The frozen ore is produced when you mine something using a tool made from cold steel. (It's an extra resource that can produce useful ores.) Also, the Moa all have names from New Zealand history or culture, because that's where the Moa existed on earth.

To prevent your bridge from collapse again... make a covered bridge with the roof being sloped so the snow falls off the roof!

@GunsNerdsandSteel go for old school I think that'd look better in the setting than a moder design.
