I know as a newbie that I have a tendency to fly much farther away than I think I am.
    Good advice. Thanks

Yeah, that is something a lot of new pilots do. They let the plane get too far away, lose orientation, and then panic. Keep the plane in closer, but always in front of you. Pick an area that is about 2-3x bigger than you think you will need to fly as you will end up using all of that space. Lastly, be sure to pick calm days to fly as learning to fly with wind is much harder and something to work on later.

This is what i started with after the SIM. One of the Best trainers out there. Very robust and awesome prop placement. Thanks for the great video.

I really like the AeroScout! I picked up last year to give potential new pilots something to try out and ended up liking it so much that I fly it quite often. Works great when I want to practice something using a plane that is easy to fly and low risk of damage. Some days I just do touch and goes over and over again with the AeroScout just for practice.

Well done! I wish I would have started in the hobby at that age. My nephew just turned 12 and is learning on the Carbon Cub S. My other nephew learned on the Habu STS at 14.

I just got mine and it doesn’t like turning left, like when I’m taking off the left rudder doesn’t work and it always curves right. And when I do get it in the air, it only turns right and not left, could you help me? Thanks!

There are a few steps here that can isolate the problem. First, use the rudder stick on the transmitter and cycle it full right and full left in all 3 SAFE modes. Does it move in only one direction in all 3 modes? If it still doesn't react to left stick input, disconnect the push rod from the rudder and cycle the rudder stick. With the pushrod removed, cycle the rudder back and forth by hand to make sure the hinge allows for full right and left movement. That will tell you if there is some interference with the rudder or if the servo is an issue. Many times when the rudder and nose gear steering are on the same servo, a hard landing can break off a tooth on the servo. When that happens, the servo stops at the broken tooth and won't go any further. The servo will need to be replaced. With SAFE in beginner mode, the rudder moves with the ailerons to coordinate the turn. If you move the aileron stick left and right, the rudder should move left and right also. In intermediate and experienced mode, that feature turns off. Even if the rudder is locked up preventing left deflection, the use of ailerons will allow you to turn to the left. In the air, you don't turn the plane with the rudder, you turn the plane with input from the ailerons, elevator, and rudder together. In beginner mode, the flight controller is helping you by automatically applying rudder so the turn is coordinated. Start by isolating the problem as listed above and report back on your findings.
