Great video, I miss that departure so much. I used to live downtown in Little Italy, that view on departure never gets old, marine layer from LaJolla Shores north to Ocenside. Again, great video.
Love those engines! And, near the end (it's tiny but you can just see it) you also caught a plane descending for landing at SAN. Pretty cool!
I really enjoy hearing those iae engine's on takeoff. They sound so relaxing and they're so fun to listen to.

Shortest runway in America, if I remember correctly. Went to San Diego almost 25 years ago for a holiday. Beautiful city.
San Diego is not the shortest runway in America. It's 9400 feet.
Orange County airport (John Wayne Airport) has the shortest runway in America, but can accommodate 757s easily, San Diego handles A350s,787s, 767s on a daily basis. Before covid, British Airways had a nonstop 747 to London. (Now they use 777s or A350s).
@@Len1966 I think it’s actually Key West! I thought it was Orange County, but it actually turns out that the runway in Key West is 700 feet shorter.

@@Captain_Chad In reality, rwy 27 is shorter than that because of the steep angle of the approach. The first 1700 ft are unusable for landing.
It was nice to see what remains of RTC/NTC from the air. Most of the Navy base is gone, but you could make out some of the buildings.
