    Stopping penetration of the wall wasn't the main purpose, it was meant to hold up and cause delay just so thar reinforcements could be sent. Every wall can be penetrated, when being attacked the watchtowers would signal for reinforcements from the other watchtowers.

    • @yewsoonfatt
      @yewsoonfatt Рік тому

      @@wildestcowboy2668 thats the truth. the chinese built them to delay the the nomad armies and to buy time for the central to gather reinforcement. the chinese dont deploy lots of men at the wall, only a some minimum sentries to guard the wall, because the cost is very high to support a soldier at the wall, you dont understand how difficult it is for people in ancient time to bring food and water there. the chinese knew the wall itself cannot stop the warriors from the north, you people have no idea about how the nomad fight, its not just a bunch of riders, but also followed by the herds of sheeps and cows, which is the support for the nomads. the wall might not be able to stop the mongolian from climbing and crossing the wall, but it definitely is a great obstacle for the herds. if the invaders want to storm China with speed, they will need to give up their herds at the wall, else they gonna waste some time to get the herds crossing the wall to continue the conquest. one of the main advantage the mongolian and other nomads have is their mobility, they dont rely on supplies from the rear line like the chinese army, the herds are their food and supplies. and the wall is connected from other provinces, which means that even the mongols broke one point of the wall and made it through the wall, it doesnt mean that they have controlled or completely destroyed the wall, in fact, the chinese always can use the remaining part of the wall to send their back up to take back the wall and form a great encirclement against the invaders. now thats how the wall is meant for. you learned something new today

    if i was china i would rebuild the great wall. Do u know that the span of time from the first brick laid to the last is farther than the last brick to present day!! That would mean if the wall was rebuilt it would quote on quote still be an on going process. And in modern times all the walls would be attached. Every section would have sections may be arched at intervals and some stretchs of the wall would be arched to allow people and animals to pass and for plants to grow. By rebuilding the wall several important things are accomplished. First off there are over a million bodies wihtin teh walls and they would all be exumed and then reburied along the walls lengths in national cemiteries. Second, modern Chinese citizens could have their names on a brick along with any other Chinese from the past; this would be an honor to all that had their names on the bricks. Some of the brick could be kept and used in the interior of the walls of the tower but most would be used in interior walls of towns and cities that would be built along the wall, as well as for park benches and many other things close to the wall. This Would symbolize that the Great Wall isn't just a stone wall, but a living breathing thing; a dragon who is still protecting the people. it would be the most amazing thing to walk and or bike on....

    The effective protection of the Great Wall caused the weak nomads to be eliminated. Only the stronger, more organized and aggressive nomads could survive, so the Huns, Mongols, and Turks moved westward.

    This is the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty, and the Great Wall built by Qin has long since ceased to exist. The Yuan Dynasty built by Mongols was in front of the Ming Dynasty, which was to defend the Eight Banners of Manchuria and later the Great Qing Dynasty.

    1 man moving 100 bricks a day for a year is 36,500. 10,000 men is 365,000,000 in a year. When you figure out the number of workers they're saying built it, they didn't have to move many bricks a day for more than a few years. It's the digging, setting up, and the process of making the bricks that made them so efficient. The chinese have always been intelligent, and the great wall is just another example of their knowledge and abilities. I'd love to see it in person. To see the silk road and the palaces all over china. Can you imagine visiting the Mongolian empire in its prime? It must've been an amazing sight.
