John Zorn, es un gigante de la música, para mí considerado uno e los mejores por su versatilidad, su expansión, su experimentación y su profundidad. Vaya artista nos regaló el siglo XX.
Good musicians have an ear for it all and improvise effortlessly. I know, I have two professional ones in my immediate family. John Zorn is a wizard at creating a lush crazy quilt of the most diverse yet iconic music of our culture. I really really love this album. It morphs so quickly and beautifully that I hardly have time to identify the many movie and genre allusions. I know I heard 'Route 66'. I'm hard to please. I get bored with mainstream music. I am delighted to discoverJohn Zorn!
ennui1812 Spillane is genius. I’m just not sure what it is; a certain set of urban noir ideas and feelings? By the way, this version sounds subtly different than the version I have from the cd when it was released; more detailed sound.
Anthony Coleman - piano, organ, celeste Carol Emanuel - harp Bill Frisell - guitar David Hofstra - bass, tuba Bob James - tapes, compact discs Bobby Previte - drums, percussion Jim Staley - trombone David Weinstein - sampling keyboards John Zorn - alto saxophone, clarinet John Lurie - voice of Mike Hammer Robert Quine - voice of Mike Hammer's conscience Original texts by Arto Lindsay (and uncredited vocals)

The Perfect Day Out on my deck on a beautiful summers day while making pastrami on Jewish rye, half sour kosher dill pickle, cheese, light hot mustard with Zorn playing in the background. Oh, and drinking psilocybin tea 😉

jego płyty, mimo że, wydawane co kilka miesięcy każda, brzmią jakby były nagrywane latami, czasem mam wrażenie, że on jest z innej planety :)
