I think this voicemail perfectly sums up any strong-willed and truly loving mother’s relationship with her child. First it’s the words of affirmation, reassurance and care. The words that come from her mouth that fill you up with this amazing sense of fulfilment and joy. There’s almost nothing like it. She makes you feel like you are worth it, makes you feel like all the pain has disappeared, makes you feel like YOU are everything that you have ever needed and will ever need. Then slowly comes the lecturing. Where there once were heartwarming sentences and fulfilling sentiments, there are now critical comments. Every interaction between the two of you becomes what seems to be a constant evaluation of every decision you make. Being forbidden to partake in certain activities and pastimes before you’ve even given them a chance. The feeling that anything you do that doesn’t align with her beliefs will be judged. Yeah, growing up with this mother can be tough. Because she’s tough. But the reality is that once upon a time she was just like you and although her judgements can be harsh and sometimes misguided, her love for you never falters. She’ll do anything to ensure that you are safe, even if that means being the overbearing mother that her child complains about to their friends when they ask him/her why they couldn’t go to that party. *Whether you want to believe it or not, she truly loves you more than anything in this world and all she wants is the best for you because she knows that you deserve it. And deep down you know it too.*

Late night though so please excuse the typos. To me, people have different perspectives to this track. It's either be yourself, you don't have to do drugs, for example weed. you don't need to take drugs to fit in and you can be yourself to fit in with other people rather than acting like someone you aren't. On the other hand, be yourself, do drugs like weed as after all you are being you and not someone else as it's the choices you make that makes you yourself. To me, im both, im not sure why, I guess im in some sort of limbo when It' comes to making choices. idk just a late night thought. :)

I play this because I love the melody
"Many college students have gone to college" ✊😔
I haven’t smoked weed or drank since high school and I still feel like I’m being shamed. Her tone is crazy
If y’all think this is a joke you clearly hasn’t loved someone who was addicted and see them downfall and can do nothing about it that, my friend, can broke your soul in a million
Many college students have gone to college.
This line out of context is just gold. 😂
Top 5 intros EVER.
Agree
Many college students have gone to College!!!
next songs first lyrics "gone of tabs of that acid"
LMAO FRANK A SAVAGE
Shes telling everyone to be themselves but also telling everyone what they shouldnt be doing.
Because some people do drugs to escape being themselves. Checkmate.
@@timbuktu777 and some people take drugs to discover ones self. Checkmate
@@lucasrhys0363 not alcohol, weed or coke though haha. Psychedelics maybe.
@@timbuktu777 yeah you right but there is a decent middle ground somewhere, i dont really like extremism 🤣
@@timbuktu777 well, sometimes you have to be sick to find the cure, there is no other way. Talk about some pseudo intellectual shit. But it's true.
I'm trying to say there is no right or wrong. But I wouldn't advise people to go snorting coke out there like it's nothing.
People take that intro as a joke but it’s true.
i love this so much
As someone who was a daily smoker for the last 3 years and has recently stopped smoking weed, she's absolutely right, I became a lazy sluggish piece of shit, I lost all my hobbies, was unmotivated, would let my apartment be trashed all the time, I've stopped smoking and completely turned my life around, don't smoke weed it's not worth it
Weed helps me get shit done loo
I live by this. Straight Edge XX
all the people in the comments saying she’s saying to be yourself but saying thing you shouldn’t do like doing weed and other drugs doing any type of drug doesn’t mean your being yourself drugs are just drugs not a personality trait
i live by this everyday
I perfectly understand where this woman is coming from
And she’s right. This stuff will never matter especially in the long run
I'm listening to this song in 2024 and I'm wondering when will you release another album cuz I've been waiting for so long 😢
Period
mad how i know every word of this
Ok I'm going straight edge right now.
Yes
Why am I always crying when I listen to this lol
Wish I had listened to this before going to school I got into weed/alcohol and it cost me!!!
LMAOOOOOO when this first came out I was a college freshman and I felt so attacked cause I was listening to this while smoking with my friends. this made us all laugh until we cried. It’s my junior year & I still listen to it for a good laugh.
R.I.P. Ryan
I disagree with her - but I enjoy hearing the conviction in her voice while expressing her beliefs! You can hear the genuine love & concern she has for her child, too. Respect.
sluggish, lazy, stupid and unconcerned
You disagree with her because youre addicted to one of those ?
@@deadboylifex nah because she just wants you to be what she envisions you to be. she tell you to be yourself but then tell you to not do this and not do that. whats the point of being yourself then if you gon put restrictions on a person? fuck that
disagree? dude she’s speaking facts lmao
Never really listened to this fully❤️🩹Frank mama was on point❤️🔥
*mother trying to keep her son from making mistakes and helping him have a better life*
Weed heads in the comments: and I took that personally
Making a change that’s our incentive
This is a TRAP BANGER
This is my mantra.
Thanks mom
This comes at the right time
I thought it was just gonna end at “Many college students go to college”
Matched sum with a friend last week, we had blond playing in the background. When this track came on, we felt guilty asf 😢
so iconic haha
9th day on a tolerance break. Hang in there guys. You can do ut💪🏽
Me as well, MyBrother...! When I hear this song, I hear a Caring Smart Calm HeartWarming mother talking to one of her son's friends as if he were Her own. Warning him about not sticking to what he believes in and changing to "fit in". Which I'm sure we've ALL tried to do at some point.
And regretted afterwards.
Weed ain't that bad bruh that shits helps me with insomnia.
