The Sohr Khai throwback was nice, considering Hraesvelgr's connection with Shiva

Finally, someone who doesn't think the platforms are just a throwback to the shattered worlds....

@@consciousnesshidden well unlike sohr Khao there are not only 2 platforms and we can't jump between them nor we have to in order to survive and hit the boss. But TBF I was quite surprised the number of mechanic re-used during the Eden-primal fights. Like Thordan Ravana, and Susano mechanic in Ifrit+Shiva fight. The Blade legs from Omega-F for Ryne's axe kick. The split platform phase may also be an Alexander A11 référence as we also have to deal with mobs on different platforms. With a look back to the old fights, the WoL sure has been fuckrd in so many way when it comes to cannon fights ( as savage and extreme are more of simulations, dreams or even altered memories ).

@@randomstreamer2868 I agree it's not total Sohr Khai, but it seems like a throwback to it... But I was a bit taken aback by the fact that I didn't notice any throwback to Bismarck OG in Garuda, given that he can control weather and stuff. I was expecting that to see bits of him. But did I miss anything?

    • @randomstreamer2868

@@consciousnesshidden Wasn't Bismark included in the Ramuh fight? I mean the thunderclouds that we have to deal with along with the knockbacks, or in the Levi fight with the boss going away for a bit then going back at us full charge ( the tankbuster may look like a "compressed" bismark howl ). Otherwise i don't really notice something really Bismark-y from the fights tbf as this one primal wasn't among my favorites ( i mean to me its just flying Moby Dick with a Heart on his back )

    • @consciousnesshidden
      @consciousnesshidden 4 роки тому

@@randomstreamer2868 The thunderclouds are pretty generic and are probably a throwback to Poqhiraj from Sohr Khai again... it's him who does that knockback mechanic with thunderclouds. And if you mean that sideways rush Levi does, it's Shinryu's move. The tankbuster, I am not sure about in general.... could be Bismarck

So Ryne transformed into both Shiva and a primitive version of Hydaelyn, huh?
Maybe we'll see Gaia becoming Zodiark at some point.

I wouldn't say Ryne was emulating Hydaelyn. Her appearance was basically a Sin Eater, like the Forgiven Venery(?) and Forgiven Obscenity ones.

@@jaeusa160 Yeah, I thought that at first too, but her design takes clear inspiration from the pictographs that showed Hydaelyn and Zodiark at the Qitana Ravel (which also made a 3D appearance in Hades's staff during the first phase of his boss battle)

@@thatoneeco Indeed, I saw elsewhere that she uses Hydaelyn's trademark body slam.

@@jaeusa160 Yeah, she literally slams you and divides the platforms up into smaller ones with hydaelyn crystals on each one ( i didn't count but I would bet there's 14 there) and splits your group in half. The imagery is definitely there!

Imagine nearly restoring the Empty to equilibrium but in doing that you almost cause another Flood of Light.

Beauty in a FF game is common place. But this is something special.

A slightly foreboding arrangement of the Prelude theme, huh. Wonder if they'll be using this for a possible future fight against Hydaelyn

I got major Crystal World (FF9) and Chains of Promathia (FF11) vibes over this whole part. Chills.

      Why would we fight Hydaelyn?

Because after we are done with Zodiark and Hydaelyn lost its purpose of getting summoned in the first place She has a good chance of going on a Primal Rampage?

Is no one going to mention that the balaam garden remix is missing from the OST?

This song is called “A Sundering of Light” I believe, it’s one of my favorite tracks in the tier so I always come back here and I want more people to see it!

I lost my damn mind at this part. Luckily my healer husband had played it first and was yelling instructions at me because I was /thoroughly/ distracted.
