Thanks for letting us hang out with y’all while y’all work. Brought me back to my days sitting in my best friends shop with him while he worked on his truck/farm equipment/whatever needed some wrenchin. I handed tools some, but mostly just kept him company. Many many many hours were spent just hanging out and helping when I could. Invaluable memories. As always much love and many prayers from Alsdorf, Tx❤
You and Clancy will get just as much work done with what tools you have as would if they were all Snap-on. Chrome sockets will work better in tighter, more confined spaces sometimes better then impact is the only thing I’ve found. Chrome sockets don’t stand up well when used on impacts, it’s a little harder metal and tends to crack quicker then an impact socket. There’s a self adjuster on the bottom or side of your brake shoes that it you collapse it will let you get your drums over that lip inside your drums. Think it’s great that you all are tackling that project. Everyone should know how to maintain stuff on there vehicles. Keep the great videos coming.
Cody, a harbor freight game changer for me has been the badlands off road floor jack. I find it rolls over the ground nice and I keep it in the bed. From straightening a sagging gate, to lifting the 4 wheeler, to tire changes on the trailer- this thing is way safe than a farm jack and I use it way more than I thought I would.
So happy to see you boys working on the beast! What a great project for a father and son to be working on together. Clancey you don’t know how blessed you are to have a great dad who has endless of everything! You have good parents boy, make them proud!
1) Jack handle has a groove in it. Slide into jack and tighten bolt so it goes in groove so handle stays. 2) Use deadblow or 3lb sledge. 3) buy a brake adjuster to loosen pads, Flat secrewdrivet will work
Matt’s off-road recovery, fabrats, and chadsfab all use harbor freight tools and even use them for their recovery business. I use harbor freight tool’s and haven’t had a problem with them. Those that break are replaced without a problem just like sears used to do. Harbor Freight has gone to great lengths to improve their offerings the past few years.
Honestly their boxes and carts are some of the best. Hand tools (I.e. wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) have a lifetime warranty. I also use their de watering pumps from big to small. Nothing wrong with their stuff just have to watch what you buy! Clarence has a nice starter set for sure!
I am with you on the gearwrench tools. just got the rachet wrench set, only thing was the 17mm was missing. so I ordered it up. your family is awesome too
Professional mechanic,Harbor freight has some really good stuff. Their icon line is fantastic for DIY or professional. I have a few of their ratchets and all my chrome sockets are Icon. That Daytona jack is also a great buy, snap on quality for like a quarter of the price.
Next time you have that problem getting a brake drum off Next to the bottom of the backing plate their's a little slot u can reach in their with a screw driver or a brake spoon and back of tension on the self adjuster and it will help to get the drum off also almost every tool i have is from harbor freight when buying i try to always get the Pittsburgh they are decent quality and cheap price and best of all it's lifetime warranty and they have never failed to honor it in my experience
Wright tools makes Snap on wrenches and some of the sockets, Allen USA are good, Blue Point is SO budget line. Ingersol Rand for air tools, Harbor Freight is one and done tools. Black finish tools are fine if you do not live in humidity. Keep on Ranching and tell Clancy to carry a knife.
In Minnesota you would be better off putting a new or used axle in. Speaking from experience 😂 you Texans got it easy with rust and corrosion. Love you guys God Bless
Fun fact about the Daytona brand those jacks are made in the same factory the 1000$+ snap on is made in and very familiar design. snap on Tried to sue harbor freight over it😂
There is nothing wrong with your harbor freight in Jack. Snap on tried to sue the company that makes those Jack’s because they are identical to the snap on. They are made in the same factory
Their ain't nothing wrong with harbor freight tools except the original first gen Rachet wrenches the new ones are pretty good but they offer the same damn perks as a snap on Mac or matco tool brand life time replacement warranty and you don't have to wait once a week or longer to get it changed out like you do the big name brands and it's often times half the price iv been turning wrenches my entire life iv been a mechanic working on cars trucks and heavy equipment in shops iv been a mechanic in different types of production factories and iv built and fixed all kinds of stuff out of my very own garage and almost every tool I have is either from harbor freight craftsman or rural king icon brand i believe is the name but I have very very few snap on Mac or matco I love their tools but Iv got kids to feed so I'm not gonna spend twice as much on a tool just for the name of it and harbor freight has rly stepped there brands up and have some nice stuff. Way I see it you should never knock another man's tools if he's willing to fix it and learn it himself. I am a little jealous of the color lay out Clanc choose tho that lime green and dark Grey looks sweet together. All my boxes are red except 2 of my tool carts they're black but I'm thinking about this winter tearing them down and refinishing them all in black with metallic red or neon orange decals.
All you need to complete your socket set is some half depth sockets and some low profile sockets. Otherwise he is ready to start as a mechanic apprentice.
I was a ranch boy till 18, Now I'm a couple years mechanic of redcross and red Crescent Industrial designer of it now, And I did my service in army after graduation . Clancy ur both inspiring and nostalgic for me. I really love your nice family Mr Cody and miss Erica. And I really appreciate your efforts for this nice life loging of yours. I bought it myself for myself 😅 🪖📐⛑️

Throw that rubber mallet in the trash and get a dead blow hammer 😉 and a regular hammer would help with the old rusty drums.

Professional mechanic,Harbor freight has some really good stuff. Their icon line is fantastic for DIY or professional. I have a few of their ratchets and all my chrome sockets are Icon. That Daytona jack is also a great buy, snap on quality for like a quarter of the price.

Thank God for Ranchers
Classic American family.
If I remember correctly snap on has an off brand at harbor freight and I think it's Daytona
I’d like a knife from Clancy!
Looking for a 5-6” knife with a cool green handle and can’t seem to find any good ones online😏😏
I’ve got a garage full of different Harbor Freight stuff, my drills, sockets, wrenches, etc are of higher quality
There is nothing wrong with your harbor freight in Jack. Snap on tried to sue the company that makes those Jack’s because they are identical to the snap on.
They are made in the same factory
Harbor freight had a lawsuit over the jack stands
Love the vids
Thanks!
@@Bar7Ranchwhat name brand of paint did Clancy use on the frame? I haven't seen a video on that part.
@@stevensaxon8888 Magic implement paint from Tractor Supply
Sometimes the Impact sockets won't fit in tight spots.
did you losen the adjustment screw for the drums
Cody I don’t to tell a man how to run his business there a brake adjustment tool you to release the breaks so the brake drum come off easier
That's a good hydraulic jack

Harbor freight depends on what you get
Love harbor freight
Ok in a pinch
I’m only 15 and I have a red us general box and I have a bunch of cheap stuff but I’ve yet to break any
Back the adjusters off. Moves the shoes away from the drums. Then drums should slide off
👍
The rear end wont lift at the same rate because driver rear tire is taller than the passenger side just fyi guys
Nothing wrong with a Harbor Freight jack. I got one and it works just as well as the Snap-On one I got.
How can a 19 year old with no experience get into ranching I live in Weatherford tx
Back the brakes off on that side boss
Needs a flatbed
I'm 38 but can you adopt me?
Next time google how to do a brake job first.
Wow what a regal idea.
