Duck Hole with Jackson & Sophia

I wanted to get the kids out for an overnight and to shakedown some new gear in preparation for my upcoming TransADK Route trip. Sophia insisted we go to Duck Hole just like her older brother and sister did 5 years prior.
What a beautiful place. It's very rare to have such a wide open space in the Adirondacks to admire the distant views. Also, as a student of ecology it is a great opportunity to witness ecological transition of the former lake bottom first hand.

I loved this Tony! I’ve wanted to do this area ever since I watched the lean-to rescue footage. Almost like a home sweet home for you. Definitely great quality time with the kiddos. They are learning so much and not realizing it.
