Looks awesome. Did you hit the top part with black again or was it just the lighting at one point that made it look like the black faded after drying?

the in between coats I use a matt clear, on the advice of Shotgun Dave as it makes the tape stick better, that showed up on the camera under those lights as a haze, the final coat of clear is gloss that blackened it back up
