These bizarre death scenes remind me of those found in Konami's Badlands (also released in 1984). But nothing tops a scorpion hopping on your head and giving you a haircut. lol
@@memphiselle1 Sometimes it can be tough to find the best ones. This game certainly stuck more closer to Dragon's Lair in terms of pain without too many comical approaches Don Bluth did like to throw in now and then.
Omg, poor guy! To make it all the way to the end, only to be first disarmed then stomped to death into a hole beneath the sole of the witch's foot, hearing her cackling ringing in his ears all the while. She didn't even need to use her scythe. Horrible way to be snuffed out! You can imagine the damsel's horror to see her only rescuer being pile-driven into a shallow grave, realizing as a result, she's about to be immersed into a vat of boiling liquid. "FATALITY!!"
It does show Don surrounded by serpents when he first falls down onto the platform, so there are many ways you can die on that particular section. (^o^)
Heh, the original arcade version actually had onscreen arrows, plus a button symbol, which I used to think was a hat in my teens, making it quite a bit easier than Dragon's Lair to be honest (I completed it on a second go a year after watching loads of other people play it in a different holiday spot). That said, you couldn't keep tapping in a direction like most of the moves in the latter as it resulted in an instant failure -- and there were more than a few moves that were right on top of each other to totally catch you out. (*_*)
That game over noise is now repeating in my head on loop, ugh.
I thought Dirk got it the worst in Dragons Lair. But this poor dude takes the cake.
the maker of this video had to hear that game over sound a bunch... now you do too!

Yeah, I really need to upload those Badlands deaths at some point. The scorpion one is pretty amazing.

I'm guessing that TMS did the animation for the game, with Akio Sugino presumably being the animation director.

Close your eyes and imagine a giant animatronic jumping at you
It’s game by Universal Co. Ltd.
this is the highest quality video i've seen of this game on youtube (without the HUD) could you maybe do a full longplay?
Ooh boy. Haven't played this one in a loooooong time. I'm way out of practice. Sorry bro!
Wasn't Universal supposed to do a laserdisc game based on Mr. Do and if they were, can you imagine all the unique deaths that could happen to Mr. Do?
Poor guy, not his fault the unicorns didn't want him in the castle!
1:52. Rob Dyrdeck would be proud of Don's scorpion.
Gotta love those Japanese animation techniques
Snake coils of squeezed to death 1:41
More brutal than Dragon's Lair. Feel sorry for this blonde Peter Venkman.
いいですね!
このゲーム自体の需要がすくないので、全ミスシーンが見れるのは貴重ですよ
同意しますよ。 素敵なコンピレーションなんです。(^_~)
why so many snakes? 0:39

At least Dragons Lair you were given a clue as to what do next. This game, you dont have squat 😅

Used in Super Don-Quixote (1984-2019) and Toonsville TV Kart Racing (1992-2019)
Most of these are him getting in even worse situations or getting his ass kicked. They aren’t even deaths.
How about you try these situations yourself?
Did TMS Entertainment animate this?
I would say so... it does look very Galaxy High School, doesn't it. (^_^)
