We have a W11 and it has been great so far. We do not have the rear platform - I think it is worth noting that it is an option! After looking at all of the producers of adventure boats we found that the W11 had the highest build quality and the best floor plan out of the bunch. At least for our purposes. Also, with the generator, gyro, Merc 400’s, and hydraulic platform on the aft I imagine that is about as far aft CG as you can spec for a W11. We have the generator and Mercury 300’s and our boat is quite balanced. Great review as always Dan. Cheers!
Hows your performance with the 300s? We have a W11 with 300s and we're starting to suspect they may be a little underpowered for the boat, and we may have been better off with the 400s.
Hello there, Dan I’ve been watching boat videos for a while now and I could say I have never seen anyone put a boat so close to the shoreline before today well done 👍
Cheers! I just want to show you guys what’s possible with these boats. You do need to carefully study the location before attempting this but it’s totally possible
The only thing that's bugging me is the windscreen. Can we get that fully enclosed as an option? I've been waiting for an outboard swim platform like this, game changer!
Great review Dan, innovative and quality boat, this Nimbus, covers making it more practical too 👍 Keen to see how that hi/lo platform works, hoping its on the test drive video, cheers...
I'd have to really not like someone to ask them to sleep in that second birth. Other than that seems a nice boat but i'd choose an axopar with rear cabin over this any day.
I’d like a closed cabin version of the W. The C11 is a touch sparse in the cockpit for entertaining-obviously by design. So I’m caught between a W and C. Wellcraft 435 is big and out of my price range tho I like the living accommodation. 355 might work but I prefer the layout and features of the W. It seems craftsmanship separates Nimbus from its competitors. Come test boats on the US Pacific Coast-would appreciate your perspective on what works out here. From SoCal up to Vancouver.
After Dan's Nimbus W9 review, I took a good look and was really impressed by the Nimbus fit & finish. Hallberg Rassy level, if you're a sailor. Alas, Nimbus' U.S. aspirational pricing leaves us financial mere mortals looking elsewhere. Such a shame (not to be rich...).
Dan, pretty cool and practical looking boat. It would be great to do runs from Florida to the Bahamas and down the island chain BTW kava my sister is going on vacation in January to Australia and New Zealand , how might she get a hold of you to pick up some merch for me? If you're based out of Sydney, I believe she's there for 2 days.
I don’t agree with your assessment. For the price they ask (from 1.1 AUS), and being a new design, I do expect: - to have a separate shower - the second accommodation is a joke. A cave nice for kids but not for adults. - The passage to the bow on the port side is not optimal, to say the least In any case, I want to thank you for recording, editing and uploading the video. I do see and value your effort. THAHK YOU
Nice video and presentation. Thank you Dan. Nice features side terrace, hi-lo rear platform, multi position bow lounge, V10 Mercury and high quality. Not so impressive wasted space at the bow with storage instead of a seating arrangement like T11, wet head, inadequate second cabin and lack of proper rear sun lounge for a 40 footer.
Possibly a dumb question, but I'm a newbie to buying boats. That adjustable swim platform are there aftermarket companies that could make THAT on a Saxdor 400 ? Love your channel , just joined your Partreon , great work 👍
That is an aftermarket product however installation would be too complicated to install on a 400GTO. Also it’s too light to accomodate the weight on that platform out back. The Nimbus is a bigger more substantial boat so you can hang more weight aft. However it’s still noticeable and I show this in the next video. No such thing as a dumb question - all good 👍
I agree with sentiment presented here to include Axopar and so many others with plum bow, huge bow opening at the top, reverse chines, step hull which taken together holistically is an amazing and obvious improvement to the entire Boating design and experience so remarkable to see the rest of so called *"traditional boat designs"* still not even paying attention to this even though Boston Whaler laid out the basic idea of this going on 60 Years ago and still remains the only boat hull to have ever retained its value at all *PERIOD* with i think their SeaRay product now at last following along in that actually but yes these current examples are for the first time doing it right making a fool out of anyone who bought into the usual traditional worthless type.
Yes it was a lot worse but we spent the last week fixing it as best we could. My equipment gets happered by the salt water so need some new lapels. I actually spent $7k replacing damaged gear in that month alone :(
Very first thought was dam that's a big boat with a shallow draft to be able to come all the way up on shore like that. I think Galeon 400 is probably a direct competitor to this. I think this would be good for going up on beaches and shallows. Galeon or any others are good for floating in the bay.
That’s $1 Million Australian Pesos 😅…. Unfortunately it’s not as much as it used to be. That’s like a half decent 1 bedroom apartment in Sydney. I’ll have to try the Dr Evil laugh next time haha
This particular boat is not working for me. Two big "no's" for me is the head/shower combo. Nope, never gonna have it. The other is that unbelievable rear 'cabin's' bed. I can only imagine trying to make the bed with all that entails. Two couples? No getting 'randy' in that berth unless they're stick people. Cockpit: All chopped up with different heights. I didn't see any sunshade? Again, no TV in cockpit? I feel claustrophobic just looking at this. Feels like guests would be squeezing by each other all the time. Cabin has no use for anything but sleeping or using the head. No seating but for the rather random seat. Odd. I hate to be so negative, because I rarely am. Sometimes I just feel frustrated by certain boat designs, and this is just one of them.
I can't stand how nice this is! To me, this would be the ultimate all around vessel. Thanks Dan!!
Yeah this W11, Saxdor 400GTO and Schaefer V44 are all on my top 5 Sydney Harbour Day Boat Dream Board 🙏🚀

Definitely way over priced also. Boat companies keep gouging buyers beyond belief. There is no reason for it to cost that much money.
Amazing boat buttttttt the nimbus 495 fly looks amazing also.
TOTALLY DIF BOAT THO
wow, the quality is impressive!!! Thank you Dan.
And also the level of thought they have put into the little things. They are thinking about the way you will operate the boat and it shows.
The only thing that's bugging me is the windscreen. Can we get that fully enclosed as an option? I've been waiting for an outboard swim platform like this, game changer!
commuter series then.

Wow! My first point of call post lotto win... 😁
This is nice. The Galeon 435 is impressive.
I would very much like to test that also
Two totally different boats,duh
@@stevehanke1842 Axopar as well
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife that's why I keep dropping hints. 🤣. Good work on your part as always.

Another great review of the W11, although it should have solar... available

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Thank you for your response. Very much appreciated. Keep posting videos, we love them. Best

do the Galeon 435 GTO!

no sense
12:00 your mic is giving static and cutting out. Probably need to change wires since it happened durring movement and sitting

Which yacht makers are not mass market?
Quite a few.
$1M Y’all lost your minds
Is it Your dog at the beach, interested in the drone?
Haha that’s not my dog he just saw the Nimbus pulling up and decided to hang with us for the arvo.
I will stick with the flybridge.
So an inboard outboard?
Outboard, but the original hull design caters to both so you have a huge aft storage compartment in place of the engine bay.

Yes that’s another boat worthy of a deep dive into how it operates. This W11 works for many different environments from what I can see.
$1 million dollars /Dr evil laugh. A lot of boat, a lot of money.

This in no way is a replacement for a fly bridge boat.
Not good for a young family. Needs the back closed, to open.

When you have your own boat channel eh!
Ridiculous space…way too small…very uncomfortable boat for a family of 4-5. Pathetic. Price as much as a house…garbage.
